how come when you've been told a band/artist is good you're entire life, you become vocally against it out of spite in order to establish yourself as an individual? and you get a sense of pride in not taking part of a canon that never mattered in the first place. do you not see how pathetic that is?

It's certainly pathetic if it's for empty posturing, but if you feel a certain piece of art is celebrated for the wrong reasons, lacks artistic merit and/or represents something wrong with society, then that's valid.

I was right though. I enjoyed Channel Orange, but even back then you could tell the adulation was overblown. When Blond released, I didn't listen to it. knowing it would be glazed to high heaven no matter its actual quality. Sure enough, nobody gives a fuck about Frank Ocean any more. I was right and you were wrong. Never step to me again.
