how come when you've been told a band/artist is good you're entire life, you become vocally against it out of spite in order to establish yourself as an individual? and you get a sense of pride in not taking part of a canon that never mattered in the first place. do you not see how pathetic that is?

It's certainly pathetic if it's for empty posturing, but if you feel a certain piece of art is celebrated for the wrong reasons, lacks artistic merit and/or represents something wrong with society, then that's valid.

In what way is vocal critique invalid when there's substance behind it?

it could not be more clear, my child
all efforts to make you understand have been exhausted and you are on your own good luck

Imagine dismissing the conversation as "exhausted" when you haven't addressed the point. Good luck with the gatekeeping, and don't forget your white flag.

4channers are generally outcasts and rejects so they develop an involuntary contrarianism as a coping mechanism. Many will eventually grow out of it, but many will not.

The contrarianism agaisnt black mid / green is a good example

I was right though. I enjoyed Channel Orange, but even back then you could tell the adulation was overblown. When Blond released, I didn't listen to it. knowing it would be glazed to high heaven no matter its actual quality. Sure enough, nobody gives a fuck about Frank Ocean any more. I was right and you were wrong. Never step to me again.
