That one song from Lulu where it's just the same riff for 10 minutes.

Lars isn't the best drummer but he's actually great at making use of his limited skills. You could list off all the classic songs he played on and I bet if any other drummer played on them they would have played too much and taken away from the song.

All you need is Fade to Black.

How can you take away from the song more than turning the bass guitar all the way down to force people to pay attention to your shitty beats

Jason just played along to the guitars anyway.

Damage Inc is a very cool variation on the traditional thrash/hardcore punk beat with all the toms he throws in and speaking of toms, the intro to Battery is great. The toms sound huge.
...And Justice for All (the title track) is also very good. It's one of his more creative songs with a lot of tasty double bass parts.
And some hot takes, Enter Sandman (great tom part), Don't Tread on Me (reminds me of Vinnie Paul), St. Anger (cool punk beat, minus the snare).
Not necessarily Lars but the Black Album is mostly slow four on the floor but Bob Rock's snare sound makes it sound huge and heavy, love the drums on it.
