rym admin gave up actually improving the site so they just make up genres and call it a day

Noisegrind powerviolence or whatever the new flavor of noise is this month. I can't even tell noise stuff apart but RYM insists they're very different.

wait, admins make up these categories? I assumed they were user generated from people having ridiculously over-specific tags or smth
Ive never used the site, my knowledge of rym comes solely from people bitching about it on /mu/

Anything furry-zoomer coded like hexd, hyperpop and all those fake subgenres like dariacore

Reggaeton. Not that there isn't worse, but there is a noted and justified dislike for it around here.

Also a good pick, but at least we got a few laughs out of Unkle Adams.

Besides the obvious shit… Reggae, Neofolk, Avantfolk, Drone, Noise (itself), and Hyperpop.

Arab music. Now that Dubai is extremely rich and shilling their shit everywhere you get to hear that trash. Their music has like 3 notes and two chords. They just do the same shit sound that plays every time a movie has to tell you the scene is set in an arab country.
Right now on the radio Dubai is shitting this terrible song where some woman just says on repeat ''habibi come to the balkans.''
I hate this shit so much. I hate their faggot terms like ''habibi'' like habibi is supposed to sound hot or something.

The not musicest not music

That poppy kind of metalcore that usually flips between gay choruses and an awful style of either shouting or screaming, and not just the recent octanecore shit. Terrible at being pop, metal, or hardcore. The audience for it is inconceivable to me.

I'd have to hear more of it to seriously hate it, and I never hear it involuntarily. It is corny though.

I listen to very little noise or noise-anythingelse, but it's not hard to pick up on differences. It would probably take just 2-3 albums per subgenre in a tour of noise to distinguish them all.
Also powerviolence is hardcore and has nothing to do with noise music.

The users tend to exaggerate forgotten scene/microgenre names coined in old magazines and blogposts. Occasionally they do recognize something relevant or sensible.

You're going to get a terrible impression of it. There's lots of fags there, but it's a better resource of information than other sites.
