Yeah, I slept on this record too because I just assumed “oh it’s probably more fun fun under the sun boomer bullshit”. Finally listened to it a few months ago and it blew my mind. The gorgeous, lush arrangements, the melancholic and introspective mood, the consistency front to back. I can see why this album was a big step forward for pop music, and it mogs everything the Beatles ever made. Also set the stage and inspired the Beatles to up their production game
