Teenage me in 2002 was not interested in turning on my local rock station and hearing It's Been Awhile by Staind once every 30 minutes. All the rap music out at the time was about partying and getting girls and doing violence to people you do not like. That was cool. Mopey butt rock music crying about your shitty life was not cool.

The sheer numbers and levels of chaos Woodstock generated in '99 were insane. Limp Bizkit is unironically one of the most accessible forms of nu metal next to the first two Linkin Park albums. Significant Other and Chocolate Starfish are just simple albums that are affective at being aggressive yet catchy.

They're far from being the best the genre has to offer but that's rarely the case for accessible music. You got to delve deeper but everyone needs a starting point.
