>Zoomers discovering nu-metal for the first time love pic related
>The most cookie cutter example of a genre selling out and being infected with normie (a fratboy dudebro wigger in this case) shit
Uh what? This is like going to a candy store and bringing home Smarties or Licorice instead of Twizzlers or Fun Dip, at least give White Pony a listen or fucking even Iowa, like candy its all bad for you but at least pick the good shit.

I liked that shit when I was a kid. As an adult looking back I was able to see that I was wrong. We were right to put this mf on cultural exile by the time Results May Vary came out. The music industry and the whole world was in a bad place. We did away with what was good and bad all at once. I do not regret seeing the music video of Fred covering Behind Blue Eyes and thinking to myself "why did I ever like this dork?"

While I'm at it I want to tell you guys about the real reason rock music went down the toilet. Teenage me in 2002 was not interested in turning on my local rock station and hearing It's Been Awhile by Staind once every 30 minutes. All the rap music out at the time was about partying and getting girls and doing violence to people you do not like. That was cool. Mopey butt rock music crying about your shitty life was not cool.
>The music video was directed by Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst. It had its world premiere on MTV's Total Request Live program on April 13, 2001.[10] The music video begins with Aaron Lewis going through some old photographs, one of which is a picture of his wife. The video switches between him writing a letter to his wife and the band performing in a room full of candles. There are brief shots of Lewis alone in the streets and looking at himself in the mirror while having second thoughts. Throughout the video, Lewis is seen smoking cigarettes. At the end of the video, one of those cigarettes falls onto the floor and burns down his apartment.
It all circles back to Fred. Also Scott Stapp.

The CIA 100% stopped rock from entering the mainstream ever again in the early 00's, it was like pulling the plug from a bath tub full of water. The sheer numbers and levels of chaos Woodstock generated in '99 were insane. I can only imagine the elites were spooked after seeing 400k people in the crowd tired, hungry, thirsty and viciously chanting "GIVE ME SOMETHING TO BREAK" over and over again.

it's big stupid fun music, take it for what it is. I liked LB when I was like 8 years old and Nookie was on MTV all day. I grew up and my taste matured and I looked back at it like it was "bad shit I liked when I was a kid", but now that I'm in my 30s I can appreciate it again

Limp Bizkit is unironically one of the most accessible forms of nu metal next to the first two Linkin Park albums. Significant Other and Chocolate Starfish are just simple albums that are affective at being aggressive yet catchy.
They're far from being the best the genre has to offer but that's rarely the case for accessible music. You got to delve deeper but everyone needs a starting point.

>We love Behind Blue Eyes, Faith, Hot Dog as well
Sorry, but that cover of Behind Blue Eyes wasn't that good. It's not like the Faith cover where it added something new to the song.
Instead, it took away one of the more interesting parts in the original song by the Who.

What do you think of Sepultura?

>Even fred durst said 'rollin' was retarded
The only issue with the song was this line in the urban assault version:
>You really, really, really wanna get shit started?
>Well, people everywhere, just get retarded
>Get retarded, get retarded!
>People everywhere, just get retarded!
sorry, but this is incredibly cringey. not because its rude to say retard, but because describing yourself as "getting retarded" while partying or whatever makes you look cringe.

>The CIA 100% stopped rock from entering the mainstream ever again in the early 00's
Hey, remember how the White Stripes were a big fuckin' deal for a while starting in 2002? What about Green Day's big comeback with American Idiot in 2004? And let's not forget My Chemical Romance hit album The Black Parade in 2006.
I don't even like anything I just mentioned. I remember how popular they were, though.
