Just a genuine question but I know it will get ignored.
Ive been liking metal since I was 12 or 13, I just like how aggressive it sounds. I even like the low quality or poorly produced stuff that sounds like shit, like this album:

So why do people hate metal? Why do some people like it and other people don't?

I've never straight up hated metal (although I have never at any point liked screamo stuff) but the older I get the less I resonate with the aggressive atmosphere. Not all the music I listen to these days is relaxing but I don't know that I would describe any of it as "aggressive" either. I just don't feel like I have the personality for metal anymore

Metal has offputting aesthetic conventions and subcultural tendencies.
Even if you're able to stomach the sword&sorcery nonsense and metallerrthanthou fanbase,
you're face to face with a bunch of bands that just fucking suck.
Most metal fans often fall in the camp of flavorless pop metal like Ghost or the tryhard diehard don't you dare skirt the genre conventions true metal camp.
You actually have to look for the good stuff and most people don't reach the stage of seeing the appeal and wanting to look deeper.

personally, i don't even mind "hard" or "noisy," i just want it to be musical in some way. most metal is just so repetitive and boring and one dimensional, and the growling vocals are embarrassing and likewise a-musical. "oh boy, another song that's just 5 straight minutes of spamming kick drums over the guitarist spamming barely discernible chords and the vocalist growling like a cosplaying dorkwad" ad nauseum
