In the 2010s there was the rise of so called hipster metal like deafheavan and liturgy, but metal heads werent buying into it, p4k failed to gentrify metal like they did to hip hop

black metal also made a come back in the 2010s with mu types, dungeon synth as well

There was also pop metal novelties like baby metal and poppy

recently there was a british band called sleep token that was charting high and selling a lot due to a cult following, but their music is absolute garbage, they have been described as imagine dragons of metal, or metal for disney adults
