Can't see shit, I just keep my mitts on and shoot from the hip. Was -18C with the wind chill. Fresh snow on top of packed snow on top of ice for 22 km, it took 2 hours.

Same bike 8 years ago... only things that have changed are chain, derailleur, tires, bar tape, cables and bearings.
>>
>>2064508
so, it's not the same bike?
>>
>>2064509
And I am not the same man.

At what point do you think the ship of Theseus metaphor becomes relevant? If I go for a bike ride, am I not riding the same bike when I get back than when I headed out? If I clean the dirt off the bike and lube the chain, is it a different bike?
>>
>>2064515
panta rhei. it is not the same bike before and after the ride.
you are not the same man before and after the ride.

Making this >>2064509 post a tautology, so not meaningful.

what size tyre is that 40c?
>>
>>2065515
35. Would go thinner if I found another studded option, to cut through to the road better.
>>
>>2065516
thought you needed to stay above the snow or does that change with the snow footage
>>
>>2065520
Nah you wanna cut through that shit, especially your front wheel or you just end up sliding out of control. A solid wall of snow either side of your wheel gives you something to push into to keep you upright (especially wet snow) and you can fishtail your way around without actually sliding out.

I've seen coyotes on the Atlanta beltline, and not even after dark, either. just in places where nobody else was around except him and me
>>
>>2065819
I've been surrounded by them twice. Once while camping and another time while cycling, at 3am. I have audio recording of the second encounter.

I'm not scared of them by any means, but do carry spray just in case. They have attacked several people here the past couple of decades. That thing sticking up beside my stem here >>2065712 is a can of coyote spray. The red tab is visible here: >>2064506

I had to check online, this light is ancient. It states 1800 but I doubt it's accurate. Plenty bright though, and the pack is two 18650s. I have gone 5 rides without it dropping more than one indicator bar and have never had it die on me. Great light, honestly. I did de-solder the cable and cut it down though, it was way too long.

It's an Evolva, probably some defunct Chinese nothing brand.
