I had some chainstay rub once on a steel frame and it carved a notch in the paint AND caused a blowout from overheating. And it was 20 degrees fahrenheit not including wind chill so I had to fix it in those conditions. That was the day when I decided being a hard core all-weather commuter was overrated.

I'm into cycling BECAUSE I'm miserable, why would it be the other way around? Weirdo

28 feels more zippy (ha ha I made a pune) so that's nice, but I like to aim for the middle of the range recommended by ETRTO and 28 is just at the lower edge. plus I disagreed with someone online once therefore I don't even ride, so feeling more zippy isn't relevant in my case

I don't know who you think you're addressing or giving advice to but I feel like you must be new to this whole thing and just want to sound cool. Relax, when you're jaded and old like me you won't feel such a strong urge to fit in anymore because you'll know it won't work anyway

You can drift on a fixie when it gets icy, best is when cars pack the snow to almost but not quite ice. Lean just a tiny bit into the turn then backpedal, you will be able to actually pedal backwards with no effort if conditions are right and it will swing your ass out in the opposite direction of your lean. Once your ass has swung out to the direction you want to go, start pedaling forward like mad, you will drift the corner. Probably not a smart thing to do but it is good fun.
