Republicans promote common sense voting laws
Democrats defer to their think tank talking points and lies, because it makes it more difficult for them to rig elections
https://thehill.com/homenews/house/5728702-gop-voting-bill-id-requirem ent/
GOP lawmaker says those without an ID ‘need’ to be able to get one free of charge to vote
Ahead of a vote on a GOP-backed voting requirement bill in the House, Rep. Bryan Steil (R-Wis.) said Sunday that those without IDs must be able to get one for free to vote.
“If there’s an individual [who] doesn’t have an ID, there 100 percent needs to be a mechanism for that person to get an ID without a charge,” Steil told host Chris Stirewalt on NewsNation’s “The Hill Sunday.”
“We want to make sure that more people are voting, not less,” he added. “And I think instilling this confidence [in elections] will actually result in more people coming to the polls.”
Steil noted that the Wisconsin state Legislature implemented such a policy when it passed legislation requiring photo IDs to vote in 2011. Under that law, residents can obtain an ID from the state’s Department of Transportation for free to vote.
The House is set to vote this upcoming week on the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which proposes requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote and valid identification to cast a ballot.
The act says that proof of citizenship can be a valid passport, birth certificate or hospital record; a photo ID issued by a federal, state or tribal authority; or a military ID card together with a military record of service.
More than 80 percent of Americans, including 71 percent of Democrats, support requiring all individuals to show government-issued photo ID to vote, according to a study conducted by the Pew Research Center last year.
“Our legislation is built on commonsense principles that the American people support,” Steil added.

The SAVE Act, sponsored by Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas), passed the House last year with unanimous support from Republicans and four moderate Democrats: Reps. Ed Case (Hawaii), Henry Cuellar (Texas), Jared Golden (Maine), and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (Wash.).
The House will vote on the legislation in an effort to send it over to the Senate. Roy and Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) proposed that Republicans in the upper chamber use a standing filibuster to force Democrats to vote on the legislation.
But while Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) said last week that his caucus would have a “conversation” on using that strategy, he did not commit to using it.

>GA and AZ both require ID
>These are the most fraudulent states according to MAGA retards
this is all baseless cope trying to suppress an election that Trump is going to make the GOP lose
We just need to switch over to mandatory voting with tax penalties.
tax records automatically validate citizenship
everyone confirms their vote was counted to avoid a fine
if you dont pay taxes you don't vote
win/win/win

>More than 80 percent of Americans, including 71 percent of Democrats, support requiring all individuals to show government-issued photo ID to vote, according to a study conducted by the Pew Research Center last year.
But the democratic party will never allow it despite overwhelming broad support, because as proven with every one of their primaries over the last decade, they rig every election

Why is voting the only thing we hold to this standard? The 2nd amendment is much more explicit about "shall not be infringed" and it requires more than one form of ID. They require you to show government ID for jury duty and no one says shit about that. There is not a single person that doesn't have a drivers license that is also showing up to vote
>>

Right. But the leftist radicals that control the Democrat party aren't part of the 80% of Americans that would support something common sense like free voter ID's.
That's just one reason why they are radical

>common sense voting laws
>already required to prove your identity to register
>able to vote from home if registered
Voter id doesn't make any sense. It's like requiring id to drink outside your home. Not to buy drinks. To drink. It's the sort of law that literally only exists to dick people over for innocent mistakes.

This
I proved my identity and citizenship when I registered to vote
Then I vote by mail and send a signed paper ballot back with a timestamp via postage
Why fuck this up and make me take the ballot somewhere else for a minimum wage retard to verify my ID?

>There is not a single person that doesn't have a driver's license that is also showing up to vote
I don't have a driver's license, and I vote every year, so that's incorrect. Driving is not a prerequisite for voting.
>>1487938
Photo ID should not be required for discord. But more importantly, discord is not a constitutional right granted to every citizen.
>>1487909
I already proved my eligibility to vote when I registered, as did everyone else.
>>
>>1487951
Your ID doesn't prove you're a citizen (even though they went and spent fuck knows how much of our money on Real ID), so it's not enough by itself. Birth certificates and passports are proof of citizenship, but birth certificates aren't updated if your name changed and passports cost money.
>>
>>
>>1487955
Its just cargo cult retardation
They've been told noncitizens are voting, so they're just working backwards from that conclusion to justify it
They already believe that Soros is sending multiple busses full of immgrants to every urban polling station, giving them each an American name to fake, and stealing communities worth of votes. Why can't they each get a fake DL too? Fake Birth Certificate?
Theres no bottom to the coping
>>
>>1487955
It's what this SAVE Act will do. You don't need to prove citizenship right now, which is why any old ID will do. But go look at your ID, in most states it doesn't have any indicator that you're a citizen, and non-citizen residents can get the exact same ID. So it won't be enough when you have to prove citizenship. The only document that everyone is guaranteed to have which does prove citizenship isn't updated when your name changes, such as when women are married or divorced.

>? I've never had to show my birth certificate to vote in an election
When I lived in California everyone was auto registered to vote when you apply for a driver's license. You had to opt out of the process. A few years earlier the state passed a law allowing illegal aliens to get drivers licenses

They aren't registering the illegal aliens to vote. They take your documentation to become licensed to drive, and if you meet the requirements to be registered to vote (as shown on this page) they also register you to vote.

It's interesting reading through that. Because what it's counting is arrests. Looking through many, the instances of fraud are dozens or hundreds per arrest
For example, the first conviction dated December 12, 2025 in Fulton Country, Georgia involves an an individual convicted of 70 counts of fraud while working for the Coalition for the People's Agenda, a left-wing advocacy group
So really, if you decouple convictions from actual instances of fraud, the 1620 instances of convictions probably translate into the tens or hundreds of thousands of instances of fraud
I got to say I agree with 80% of Americans, a free voter ID sounds like a pretty good idea.

How can discord not be covered under the constitution when it is a tool for the US Government to spy on the populace?

It's Republicans who forced them for both.
Interesting false choice created by Republicans that you put forward.
If you want IDs. Have them all be free, and make it so you can get it in less than a mile walking difference or mailed to you at zero cost and within 2-3 business days.
This is where Republicans prove this is all about voter suppression and race. And we have a smoking gun given when republicans in Alabama passed their strict voter ID law, they immediately moved to shut down almost all the places you can get it from in majority black areas in the state.

24th Amendment to the United States Constitution, nimrod. Your idea isn't rooted in the legal realities of the USA, and would require the amendment process to be satisfied to come to fruition. Please read my constitution before commenting on it.

Voter ID is another waste of time, like building a wall. Democrats just bring in crates of ballots after hours. The idea that hundreds of thousands of unregistered people are physically voting is actually ridiculous. You can see in the last election that having strict observers wiped out Biden's entire fake lead from 2020. Making the ballot counting more transparent and accessible is the fastest way to destroy voter fraud.

MAGAtards hate Republicans having common sense since last year, and voting for Democrats in Miami, Texas & Louisiana.
Cultists are going to seethe when even more Republicans elsewhere show superior sense in further demonstations of vengeance voting against a nonsense orange subhuman, thus their common sense desire for Total MAGA Death.
>those without an ID
Political destruction of an orange thing that is nothing but ego & superego. thus Republicans showing their id. Those based Republicans voting Democrat in Texas certainly did, as id Software is based there.

>And in the majority of states you have to affirm you're an American citizen, but you don't need to prove anything at all.
I'm a Hoosier. To register to vote I need to provide either a driver's license, a state ID, or my social. To get a driver's license or state ID you have to provide your birth certificate. Shit's some version of that in every fucking state. You are a complete fucking dumbass.
In fact, let's go through every swing state.
>Arizona
requires state ID, tribal ID, or social
>Georgia
government issued photo ID or social
>Michigan
state ID or social
>Nevada
state ID or social
>North Carolina
state ID, social, or voter ID number
>Pennsylvania
state ID or social
>Wisconsin
I'm not typing all that bullshit out, but the point is you need some version of like a dozen+ different documents that prove citizenship e.g.
>Valid Wisconsin Driver's License except one issued to an individual that is not a United States citizen
Full list if you're curious
>https://www.usvotefoundation.org/state-voter-information/wisconsin
Anyway, point is you're a fuckwit and a liar.

Here's my GayEye answer Poogle shat out.
>To register to vote in Michigan, you can do so online, by mail, or in person. If registering ONLINE, you must have a valid Michigan driver’s license or state ID; otherwise, you can register in person at your local clerk's office up to 8 p.m. on Election Day.
There's a fucking map in the OP image too.

Which works because Australia has a compulsory voting system. Everyone needs to show up and vote. If you have near 100% turnout, it's not as important to verify a voters identity, only their eligibility because any attempts at cheating is going to cause a double vote for someone and be easily detected

Voting day I bring a valid verification to the township and they check against the list of registered voters. If I havent my ID i sign a form that swears tuh gawd i’m a registered voting resident at this address in this district under the full penalty of the law and i bring those valid verification documents to be checked a within a few days afterwards. Vote isnt counted until then.

It's depressing how many right wing dipshits are willing to completely ignore the constitution and rule of law when it is convenient. These are totally 'common sense voting laws' and definitely not a naked attempt at voter suppression and violation of the 24th amendment. You fucking retards are un-American dogs.

You mean like when your pedo and chief thanked him for the election? And that's the only suspicious thing about the election. It is cool and normal for Mel to own patents on voting machines. Russians numbers calling in bomb threats to democratic areas and Trump's addiction to putin's sweaty nutsack are a coincidence. Just like how he 'won' all five swing states with a margin just under what was required to trigger a recount. No, beating that strawman sure showed any rational, sane person who looked at the numbers. You're definitely right to stand by your dementia-ridden pedophile, and not at all a hypocrite for wanting to investigate 2020 and not calling for a 2024 investigation. Fuck you fascist faggot.

'on Tuesday became the first Republican senator to speak out against a House GOP-drafted bill to require people to show documented proof of citizenship before registering to vote and to show ID to cast a ballot, a top priority of the Trump administration'

>elected to the Senate by the will of the people of Alaska

She, and thus her voters, won't be the only ones. You'd best start going out there and persuading them to not disagree with your wrong opinions, Trumptards in /news/. But then
>Miami

With the way things are going, I don't fancy your chances much.
