This complete reversal of precedent to censor political foes is brought you by Project 2025 leader Brendan Carr.
https://www.politico.com/news/2026/02/17/colbert-interview-trump-admin istration-pressure-00783626
Stephen Colbert blasted CBS on Monday night after the network killed a planned interview with Texas Senate candidate James Talarico, citing concerns that going through with it would raise the ire of the Trump administration.
The network’s decision to block the interview is one of the highest-profile instances of the Trump administration applying pressure to rein in media personalities it views as unfriendly. Colbert panned President Donald Trump as “a toddler with too much screen time.”
At issue: the Federal Communications Commission’s equal time provision, which requires radio and broadcast programs to offer equal time to all candidates in a particular race. News programs have long been exempt from the rule, which has generally also been extended to talk shows. But guidance issued by FCC Chair Brendan Carr in January signaled the agency could go after late-night talk hosts or shows like the “The View” by citing the provision.
“Carr said he was thinking about dropping the exception for talk shows because he said that some of them were motivated by partisan purposes,” Colbert told his audience. “Well, sir, you’re chairman of the FCC. So FCC you. Because I think you are motivated by partisan purposes yourself.”
The FCC did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Colbert’s criticism. Talarico and other Democrats criticized the move.
“This is yet another troubling example of corporate capitulation in the face of this Administration’s broader campaign to censor and control speech,” Anna Gomez, the FCC’s lone Democratic commissioner, said in a statement. “The FCC has no lawful authority to pressure broadcasters for political purposes or to create a climate that chills free expression.”

“The show was provided legal guidance that the broadcast could trigger the FCC equal-time rule for two other candidates, including Rep. Jasmine Crockett, and presented options for how the equal time for other candidates could be fulfilled,” the network said. The show “decided to present the interview through its YouTube channel with on-air promotion on the broadcast rather than potentially providing the equal-time options.”
As far back as his first term, Trump has floated using the FCC provision to go after talk show hosts. Since his return to the White House last January, Carr and other administration figures have aggressively targeted media institutions the president has criticized.
Carr pressured ABC and several television station operators to temporarily take late-night host Jimmy Kimmel’s show off the air in September amid conservative anger over comments he made after the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Trump cheered the move, also calling for NBC to go after its own late-night hosts, Seth Meyers and Jimmy Fallon.
“Let’s just call this what it is,” Colbert said. “Donald Trump’s administration wants to silence anyone who says anything bad about Trump on TV, because all Trump does is watch TV.”
Colbert’s time with CBS is winding down. Paramount Global, the network’s parent company, announced last summer that it would soon be cancelling “The Late Show” amid criticism from the president. Even though Paramount called the move a financial decision, it prompted widespread condemnation from Democrats and press freedom advocates.
The talk show host did go through with his planned interview with Talarico, though only for his show’s YouTube page.
“I was told in some uncertain terms that not only could I not have him on,” Colbert said of his interview with Talarico. “I could not mention me not having him on. And because my network clearly doesn’t want us to talk about this, let’s talk about this.”

In other Brendan Carr news, he immediately proved he was lying about his threats to CBS by starting in investigation into another show.

Furthermore, he refuses to enforce these standards to talk radio which always have a right wing bias confirming the this is censorship pushed by conservatives, again.

Freedom of the press does not mean freedom to quote the president if the result makes the president look bad. We need to hold these people accountable and consider only allowing outlets approved by the DOJ or FCC be allowed to report on news approved by the POTUS

It's just one of those made up things
You'll never find a clip of Ronald Reagan or HW Bush saying "I implemented Trickle down Economics" because they don't believe in that. That is a smear used to degrade the idea.
You can't find a clip of Donald Trump or JD Vance saying "I endorse project 2025" because they don't believe in it. It's a smear used to distract people from their actual agenda, agenda 47

LOL
The GOP: won't protect your guns OR your speech.
So what are they for exactly? To keep billionaires from paying any taxes at all?
>in b4 yer a commie tranny demmy
The Democratic Party is insane too, but they at least pretend to care about the poor and middle class.

This is why I am voting blue no matter who
Nobody has more gun rights than New Yorkers, Californians. New York will protect my right to bear arms. California's big tech companies will protect my right to speech

True. I live in WA State and have less gun rights than Germany, much less New York. WA is "blue", but it's really red, they just cheat like hell. No one here but Seattleites want higher taxes and softer hands for criminals.
But yeah, straight blue. Destroy the GOP, it's the least we can do.

What are you talking about?
How did Trump rape this country for Russia and Israel?
It was Bidens weakness which lead to the war between Russia and Ukraine. There is a reason Russia didn't invade Ukraine while Trump was president, and did while Biden was president
There is a reason Palestine didn't attack Israel while Trump was president. October 7th and the subsequent war happened under Biden's watch
It is like you are taking all these things that happened while Biden was president, and then projecting that failure onto Trump

I noticed none of you troons and jeets have called out this fake news yet. Trump didn't do shit and CBS even admitted to it. Colbert then pivoted to crying about Trump being a bully, even though the entire issue was they denied having Jasmine Crockett on to push the Satanic fake christian pedo "talamudico"

Yeah. Preventing ideas you don't like from being published by using your office's power to leverage the media means you are a literal fascist.
The trump admin preventing one-sided propaganda, is a fucking hilarious idea. You probably think Kirk was a national hero with no sense of self-awareness because you're too much of a pussy for a woman to respect you without the government and the bible making rules that say she explicitly has to.

Preventing ideas you don't like from being published by using your office's power to leverage the media is whataboutism

He's pretending to be a Christian because he's running in Texas. Voters are not buying it, which is why Crockett is beating him in polls. He's the Jewish candidate, which is all why the media is shilling for him

When CNN said there was WMDs in Iraq, that was a lie
When CNN said that Trump was colluding with Russia, that was a lie
When CNN said that Michael Brown had his hands up saying "Don't shoot" that was a lie
When CNN said "if you get vaccinated you can't catch covid and you can't spread covid" that was a lie
>>
>>1491205
Vaccines don't prevent you from getting a disease. They prime your immune system to be able to recognize and fight common versions of the disease. People who were vaccinated got sick less frequently when exposed and had less severe symptoms against covid, because that's how vaccines work.

NTA, I love how that last part is the only line you care about. Hell, that anon forgot to cover all the lies said about Rittenhouse.
>He crossed state lines with an automatic weapon!
>His mother dropped him off in the middle of a riot!
>He fired 60 rounds into a crowd of black people!
>His firearm was illegal and everyone else involved wasn't!
>He's a white supremacist!

>People who were vaccinated got sick less frequently when exposed and had less severe symptoms against covid
There is literally zero evidence this was true for the covid vaccines though. And no, I"m not an anti-vaxxer. That's retarded. The covid vaccines just didn't do anything to help or hurt

>They prime your immune system to be able to recognize and fight common versions of the disease.
Vaccines provide immunization against diseases. What you're describing is a prophylactic, which isn't the same thing.

Let's clarify, what I'm hearing from you...
What I'm hearing, is that you're saying, that your saying project 2025 is real.
You're saying it's an extension of a plan to plant ideologically sympathetic individuals in the judiciary to tip electoral politics in favor of the Republican party, and the "captains of industry" that fund it, outlined in a document called "The Powell Memo" written by Supreme Court Justice Lewis F. Powell Jr in 1971.
You're saying there has been a literal conspiracy built around the thought outlined in this document, and that we are seeing the effects of 55 years of old money, intelligence agencies, and business leaders working to subvert American democracy.
Got it.
Yes, this is true. I agree with you.
