The impact of the deadly and unpredictable conflict in the Middle East on the global economy will be felt most immediately, and keenly, through the rising cost of oil.

Prices jumped on Monday, as markets had their first opportunity to digest the weekend’s tit-for-tat attacks. A barrel of Brent crude oil was trading at about $79 (£59) by lunchtime in London, up about $6 or 8.5% on the day.

Central bankers typically “look through” short-term supply shocks such as a temporary surge in the oil price; but some – including the Bank of England in the UK – remain concerned about elevated inflation expectations.

If oil prices shoot up to $90-100 a barrel and stay there, however, inflation in developed markets would be up to 8% higher than expected, central banks could find themselves forced to start raising interest rates once more, and consumers would be squeezed, putting the brakes on growth.

GAS WILL GO DOWN AGAIN ONCE WE WIN

THE ONLY REASON IT SPIKED TODAY IS BECAUSE IRAN INTENTIONALLY TARGETED OPEC SITES WHICH NO ONE THOUGHT THEY WERE STUPID ENOUGH TO DO

So what happened to the oil trump extorted from venzeula? More than launder it through one of his owners and having the money sit in an off shore account her personally controls?

Venezuelan oil has very little impact on global prices compared to Persian Gulf oil.
Venezuelan oil is less than 1% of global oil. The reason Venezuela has importance is its Oil Reserves, not it's Oil Production. And even those are only important if America loses access to the Arab oil.

50 million barrels sold to Trump sounds like a lot, but it's only 1.5 months of Venezuela's production capacity. They paid their rent because they had no other choice. America owns the world.

Wow guys, I guess Iran got us. Gonna have to stop beating them in a war now. I didn't think is was going to have to pay $0.25 more per gallon for a few weeks, now that reality is sticking I changed my mind.

When your done being a sassy little faggot maybe you can articulate what the average American citizen is gaining from Trump starting this war.
>>
>>1493247
They won't be pestered do much with all this news about how the elites on both sides of the aisle running the government are pedophiles and rapists. No time to think about that when now we're at war! The only news necessary now is how awesome and strong America is and if yo don't love the war then you hate veterans and that's anti American!
>>
Sam's Club today: $2.51/gal. Normal lines. It's up 7c over last week.
>>

Did prices for everything go down when we won like Trump promised they would?

Nope.

You sound like you need another round of tariffs.

America is zooming around the board scooping up any former Russian vassals, just like we did after the soviets suicided

The benefits you get from owning a vassal state are complicated, mostly financial and strategic, and mostly go to elites.

But basically, by expanding your control of other nations, you put your own nation in a better position which includes the average citizen.

Four things for me:
1. I really do not want our enemies to have nukes
2. We drew a red line on the protests and Iran crossed it
3. Revenge for Beirut.
4. War is fun when you are winning

>Amount of actual value gained: Me, a random shithead sitting on the other side of the planet from a conflict that will likely never reach me, thinks it's funny
Also what is this shit about them having nukes? I thought their nuclear program was set back decades?
>>
>>1493259
Iran has been days away from a nuke for 50 years now
Also didn't Trump completely and totally obliterate Iran's nuclear sites forever like eight months ago?
>>
>>1493260
If they are still trying, they are still dying. Sorry the idea of fucking up your enemies makes you wobbly at the knees, I know you'd be a lot more comfortable fucking up your own country.
>>
>>1493262
Trump said their nuclear program was set back for years just a few months back. Why are we in such immediate danger of them getting a nuke again we need to bomb them?
>>

>Trump said their nuclear program was set back for years just a few months back. Why are we in such immediate danger of them getting a nuke again we need to bomb them?
Doesn't matter if it's 4 months away, 4 years, or 4 decades. We ordered them to stop. Now the people who defied 2 of our red lines are dying. We killed the majority of the top leadership. We will kill more. They killed thousands of protesters and gave us moral authority to kill any of the Iranian government we feel like.

Nukes don't mean Iran was going to nuke anybody. It only meant that they couldn't be nuked with impunity.
For all this kvetching about Iran having nukes, nobody talked about Israel nuking Syria.

Lol yeah we're gonna let that happen

We then killed 40 school children. You saying they're justified in striking back?
>>
>>1493272
You're literally not american
>>
shills sure are happy to support another round of illegal assistance for an Israeli war
>>
>>1493264
Because they said they were going to keep making nuclear material
So they will keep getting bombed

If they were trying to become a solar powered nation, no one would be bombing them
>>
>>1493274
>We then killed 40 school children. You saying they're justified in striking back
False, and yes the Iranian government is justified in fighting back if another country attacks them. That is why you want to be the most powerful nation or have fewer enemies, because if you go to war you should count on winning.
>>
>>1493279
>That is why you want to be the most powerful nation or have fewer enemies, because if you go to war you should count on winning.
You can have all the enemies if you have blackmail showing the leader of the most powerful country fucking kids in order to force them to fight your wars for you.
Using that war to deflect from allegations that you're fucking those kids is just *chefs kiss*

There's no use arguing with these people. Their only understanding of the world and war is playing Crusader Kings in the basement.
>>
>>1493272
Still true though.
It's easy to see that this is a fake and gay claim because nukes aren't a meaningful threat to any single nation. They're a deterrent. Israel didn't want Iran to have nukes because they wanted to destroy Iran.

No, true.

No false

Do you really think nuclear weapons are the be-all end-all of existential threats to a foreign nation?
