I just got a new truck and after driving it for about 2 weeks now i think truck niggers are actually onto something.
>fuck ton of room on the inside

>4wd so you arent useless in 2 inches of snow
>bigger engines and better transmissions by default

Right, as we all know literally nobody has ever dailied a car anywhere with snow. Literally never happened in the history of mankind. Makes you wonder why they even bother selling cars anywhere with snow. Or how did you do it before now since according to the OP post you've only had a truck for all of two weeks.
>or better yet make any sort of money off it when you get bored of it.
Even more reason to not buy a truck, why pay 80k for a FORD Super Triple King Cab Extra Tiny PP Edition when you can get a lightly used Mustang for literally F R E E since they have no resale value?

Europeans essentially. Fox and grapes attitude. Every single European that is given the opportunity to drive a truck becomes a trugger instantly. Like you said, because the truck is designed to do truck stuff, anything that isn't truck stuff is extremely understressing for the vehicle and you don't have to work about over working an EconoEfficiencyBox.

the drive feels retarded unless under load, proportions are huge because of an epa loophole and they cost as much as a nice sports car. used to do the driving for my general contractor and besides the high vantage point, it was boring to drive and the lifted f250 was a pain to load by myself. one of the contractors we used drove a crown vic with a trailer everywhere which was extremely kino.

if they were cheap and proportioned properly i would be a lot more understanding.

An SUV does all of that while being significantly shorter, easier to maneuver and having more interior space. And no, you, nor the 80% of people who buy a truck, don't need a bed.
The vast majority of truck owners would be able to do everything they need to with an SUV, station wagon or even a hatchback in a lot of cases. They're only buying a truck because of perceived social associations, just following the societal zeitgeist instead of thinking for themselves and what's actually best.

What's your definition of "SUV"? Because you're going to need at least a Tahoe sized SUV to compete with the interior room of a crew cab half ton and that's going to be just as long if not longer. Also SUV's cost a lot more than trucks. You can also cover a truck bed and turn it into a SUV but you can't turn a SUV into a pickup without a Sawzall.
>>
>>28852140
Guess which one of these has 45 cu.ft more interior space and is $6000 cheaper.
>cover a truck bed and turn it into a SUV
You crawling through that itty-bitty window?
>>
>>28852178
I thought you would post a crossover. Nice try but those interiors are not remotely comparable. A pickup with a tonneau cover has much more cargo capacity. If you go with a cap/canopy/camper shell/whatever yeah you have to go in through the back but you have a separated cargo area which is good for hockey gear, lawn and garden materials, hunting kills, dogs, etc. Have fun cleaning your SUV after that.

>If you go with a cap/canopy/camper shell/whatever
That wouldn't be interior. Interior space was specified because OP said "fuck ton of room on the inside". Inside means inside the cab. That's what this discussion is about.
>Have fun cleaning your SUV after that.
And have fun making disingenuous bad faith replies pretending you don't know what the fuck a tarp is.

This is the answer to the OP, people hate trucks, not because of trucks themselves, but because truck drivers are retards who shouldn't be behind the wheel.

>>

Good for you, you must be hauling a lot of stuff or be some kind of farmer. I personally don't need a "fuck ton of room"
>rides high af you can see everything
No shit, and everyone else who drives normal cars can't see shit when surrounded by fuckhuge trucks. And once every vehicle on the road is a massive truck you won't be any better off.
>4wd so you arent useless in 2 inches of snow
I bet that even a fwd sedan with winter tires would perform just as well in w inches of snow as your truck.

>>

They have worse visibility to their immediate surroundings. Running over children is a real risk. I have to be super careful with my truck in parking lots that might have children because of how tall it is and I can't see behind the tailgate.

Everything a truck does for 98% of people 99.9% of the time can be accomplished by installing a tow hitch on a sedan and buying a 6x6 foot trailer.
>>
>>28846048
>and better transmissions by default
What the fuck were you driving before to make you think that?
>>
>>28846129
He's not wrong about the garage part, 20' garages are standard in modern developments and most half tons won't realistically fit in that. I bought my midsize truck in large part because of that, but I've since moved and now have two 25' garages so I'll probably upsize to a half ton when I get my next truck.

>Even though they were never mentioned...
Which is why you're a fucking retard for using a crossover as an example.
>Inside means inside the cab
Do you have any fucking idea how cavernous a modern half ton or larger cab is? Are you sitting in the cargo area of a SUV or a crossover? Sitting room vs sitting room there is no comparison. You're the disingenuous if you refuse to believe a truck bed can't be used as a trunk.

You will never drive a real pickup truck. Your truck has no scratches, no dents, no "tire pressure sensor fault" message on the dashboard. Your truck is a land yacht for larping faggots twisted by marketing research divisions into a crude mockery of an authentic work vehicle.

All the “validation” you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back people mock you. Your parents are disgusted and ashamed of you, your “friends” laugh at your truck's gaudy appearance behind closed doors.

Tradesmen who drive fleet vehicles are utterly repulsed by you. Thousands of hours of coffee breaks have allowed tradesmen to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even land yachts with a bit of dirt on them look unnatural to a tradesman. Your plush trim is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to cut off another driver he'll know what you are the moment he sees your shiny polished trailer hitch.

You will never be happy. You wrench out a fake smile every single morning and tell yourself it’s going to be ok, but deep inside you feel the depression creeping up like a weed, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight.

Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - you’ll go to a dealership, buy an SUV, and trade in your toy truck. Your buddies will find you, heartbroken but relieved that they no longer have to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment. They'll tell you it looks great and joke about how surely "the wife" made you do it to haul kids around. Your land yacht will be bought by another insecure man with a weak ego, and all that will remain is a $85,000 car loan at a modest 15% APR.

This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.
>>
>>28852978
A wagon with a trailer is even better
>>28857672
I've had both, trailer every day of the week. Being able to walk onto the trailer (low to the ground) is better than lifting things up to chest height. There's more usable floor space in a trailer, you can abuse the shit out of them, ramps are lower angle for wheeled objects, and you don't have to carry it around when you don't need it. Unlike truck owners that use the bed for moving loads once a year.
A wagon with a trailer is even better because you have a dry weather sealed space for the shit you actually care about. Sure you can put a canopy on your truck but then you can't use it for tall or forklifted loads, unlike a trailer.

You're right. Just buy an F250 or F350 super cab 8ft bed with a Godzilla engine and XLT trim for 52k.
>But I don't need to haul houses every day
Who gives a fuck? Brand New $52k, big ass engine, no cylinder deactivation, OHV, 4x4 and locking diffs, torque band from 1500 to 5500rpm, no turbo, big naturally aspirated breather, and port injected. What more could you need?

>see truck
>think of penis

>>
>>28858204
I won't dispute that in terms of cargo loading and carrying, trailers are hands down better, but it's all the bullshit that goes with them that's the issue. A truck still drives normally with a load in the bed (other than maybe longer braking distances if it's really heavy), but towing means major impacts on speed, maneuverability, and vehicle stability. It also means having to store, register, and maintain an extra "vehicle," even if it's relatively cheap compared to a car or truck.

>>28857951
In a lot of ways that makes it worse, small trailers are unstable as fuck, suck to back up, etc.

what do people think of gen 1 vs. gen 2 Raptors? I'm currently in a 2017 Gen 2 (recently paid off) with only 80k miles. So I think I'll be ready to start putting in the 'for fun' mods soon. I make a rule for myself that I don't put in fun parts in my car unless its paid off and I own it outright.

However I am considering trading in the Gen 2 for a Gen 1 with similar mileage. I'm just not sure how much I trust the 3.5 Ecoboost and the 10 speed vs. the old reliable 6.2 and 6 speed. Aftermarket support is MUUUUCH bigger for the Gen 2 though. I think I'd feel retarded trading in a newer vehicle for an older version that is significantly less powerful (the 3.5 Ecoboosts are retardedly fast if you tune them).
>>
>>28858670
Like the other anon says, small trailers suck, and it's still way more of a pain in the ass than just driving a truck. There's a reason companies use rigid trucks instead of semis for local delivery etc.

I almost never back my truck into spaces btw, for one thing that makes it impossible to load shit into the bed, and I'd rather have the camera and sensors for backing out of a space, since otherwise you have to pull like 5 feet out of the space before you can see if there's oncoming traffic or people.

if you're going to get a gas truck get a half ton. heavy duty gas trucks where made around their diesel's, gas engines where an after thought. sure you'll save more money up front with the cheaper engine but that 10 mpg maximum isnt worth it in the long run. dont even get me started on towing mpg. gas hd trucks are fleet vehicles not made for the average consoomer. for the love of god if you're getting an f250 or 2500 get a diesel i dont care if you "dont need it" you'll look even more retarded filling up your truck every 3 days.
>>
>>28861611
It's not 1980 grandpa. Modern gassers make 400+hp and a lot of torque at decently low RPM's. An 8 or a 10 speed also helps a fucking lot. A modern gasser will get 12-15mpg city and up to 20 highway which isn't that far from a modern diesel. Towing with the gas vs the diesel is a couple MPG difference. Is that 1-2mpg worth going for the $10k diesel option with expensive as fuck diesel? Also 3/4 tons ride more than nice enough to be comfy daily drivers and road trip vehicles. They're definitely not dedicated fleet trucks.

Next models will cease to have windows, all replaced with cameras to display on interior screens.
They will disallow human steering since "that could lead to an accident".
They'll be built like safe-boxes and will all have blazing lights and horns that will screech at-all-times when the vehicle is in motion, so that anyone outside of the car will know it's coming.

...because it's safer that way!

Oh!
