my grandfather on my moms side had one of these in red and it was clean kept, always had the seats lathered in armor all, you'd think he was a part-time nigger, he took really good care of it.
I can't blame anyone but after he died it went to his biological son instead.
I was always upset cause I'd drive past their house and see it was getting in worse and worse shape but honestly I had no use for no damn fwd that I couldn't beat on so I probably couldn't have done it any better and at the end of the day its just a fucking car and the mans dead.

The lighting is quite nice, especially with the way the sun is setting between the tree, but the background is overall just a mess. The annoying thing is that I've moved over 100 miles away from my favourite photo location, and the weather has been monumentally shit since then, so I haven't had the opportunity to scout for a new one yet.
>>
>>28851887
Well hot damn, glad to be proved wrong for once, and it's the first time I've seen that particular flavour of Mitsuoka. I suppose the prevailing question now is... why? What was the base car, a crown or something?
>>
>>28851899
It isn't even nice. If you look at it, the paint's fucked up. I bought the cheapest one in Japan. But then, I dailied it for two years with no problems.

>>28851905
Started as a Nissan Crew. It is a straight six making no horsepower through a 4 speed Jatco automatic to a solid rear axle.

At least it's a straight six, but why they put a luxury-style front end on an otherwise low to mid tier vehicle...? Bizarre.
>>
>>28851932
I know why. The reason is you get am exotic car at a cheap price that doesn't need maintenance.

And the RB20E is so weak-chested you'd be better off with a four cylinder of the same displacement.

Mitsuokas aren't cheap, though, they're usually around twice the price of whatever they're based on, and the interiors are basically untouched beyond maybe some fake wood stickers, as far as I can tell. After seeing how much money half of their stuff was new, I'm honestly surprised they're still in business.

I mean, the Galue was only 45K when new. Granted, in 1996 that wasn't cheap, but it stood out and it was reliable as hell.

The work they do is quite good, actually. The panels they added are almost all steel (albeit thin steel) and the build quality on mine is really good.

But then, as far as cars go, they aren't terribly good.

>>
>>28852469
Oh, I don't doubt that they're pretty reliable, as all they're really doing is repanelling an already good car, but considering that they are exactly that - a repanelled car - it just baffles me as to how they've managed to find enough of a market to secure their survival over the years. I really quite like their newer stuff, like the Rockstar and the Buddy, but the 90's stuff just doesn't hold up in my eyes, at least not for what they charged when they were new. Interesting company, though, I am glad they're still around.
>>
>>28851719
>>
>>28852539
I think that's a fair assessment. Some of it has to be that they're building something fundamentally bizarre. I chose the Galue because I needed a cheap, reliable daily driver that could bring a family of five anywhere they'd reasonably need to go. Because the Crew was suitable for taxi use, I figured it would run long enough for the pandemic shortages to end, and I could sell it when all was said and done.

Turns out the last part is the problem. Market cooled down and I got no interest in the car.

NTA but man I miss Fanime, I haven't been since 2017 I think. Maybe I'll try to go this year. Incidentally I met my longest-term GF there but that was a longass time ago.

>>28854259
I did sort of a similar thing, was mostly an automotive/motorsports photog but had cosplay GF so I started shooting cosplay, and was decently successful at it. Doing it as a single guy fucking sucks though and I strongly recommend against it, general consensus among female cosplayers is that cosplay photogs are all creeps until proven otherwise and it only gets you interactions with cosplayers that are getting attention from 500 other guys at the same time.

You're way better off to just try to be chill, maybe cosplay, and make friends and get into afterparties etc. You'll meet people on much better terms that way and it also means you might meet cute weeby girls who don't go full cosplay, who are both more attainable and generally less fucked up. If you do meet cosplayers you can offer to do shoots or whatever once you kinda get to know them too and it'll generally be a much better vibe. I won't lie though, even that is hard, but it might be better away from the big CA cons.

I said it in the next line up, met her at Fanime. We were both cosplaying from the same franchise and met at a cosplay meetup, a bunch of people from the meetup went to lunch, her group and my group ended up hanging out later, and we just kinda clicked. She had a BF at the time but we became friends, talked online pretty regularly, and that led to a relationship when she broke up the following year.

She didn't smell bad at all, she took very good physical care of herself and was extremely attractive, at least an 8/10 - as evidenced by the fact that, with the help of my photography and advice on what to cosplay, she became a very popular cosplayer with 500k+ followers etc. despite never doing anything slutty. Unfortunately she was also BPD as fuck and gave me emotional damage that I never really recovered from, even a decade after I dumped her.
>>
>>28854435
>Unfortunately she was also BPD as fuck and gave me emotional damage that I never really recovered from
Ah fuck, there's always something. Went through that myself a year ago and I don't know if I can handle another BPD girl again. She fucked my shit up badly. The sex was unreal though, it was like nothing I've had before or since.
>>
>>28854435
>>28854436
what are signs of bdp exactly?
>>
>>28854443
so would it be like she's happy, loves you and is all positive for a while and then can switch to be absolutely depressed and negative days later over nothing?
>>
>>28854443
Pretty much the short and sweet of it, yeah.

>>28854446
That was definitely part of it. Also stuff like threatening suicide when there was conflict. Randomly going off on me for minor shit, sometimes in front of friends/family. Twisting minor shit I said that wasn't even meant to be negative into long-term grudges. Isolating me from my friends while not letting me get close to hers. (And accusing me of cheating if I DID show any real sign of being friendly with her female friends, or even if I refused to hate on people she was best friends with last week but worst enemies with this week.) Viewing things that have nothing to do with her as personal attacks - i.e. one of her friends cosplaying "her" characters, or some other person getting a compliment from another, or whatever. Finding shit I was insecure about and then constantly using it against me.

It was a whole laundry list of shit and I should've bailed after the first year or so but instead I suffered through 5, always thinking I could fix things and bring it back to how it was at the beginning, but all that left me with was a lifetime of regret, a ruined social life, and deep-seated self-esteem and trust issues I'll probably never overcome.

So far, it's all been deferred maintenance; new belts, tires that aren't 20 years old, replaced the original plastic headlights, fixed the AC, etc.

I've had an overheating issue that is likely the water pump. It had a bad hose that leaked out and likely caused the water pump to rust.

It's only got 45k on it, so I'm making it reliable. This week, it's shocks, sway bar ends and bushings, plus said water pump. I'm debating an aluminum radiator, but I don't think it's necessary.

while you're replacing the pump and got all coolant out of the system check the rad tubes, see if they're clogged up. if they are you should be able to take it apart by melting the solder then get an old engine or gearbox dipstick and shove it through each tube to force the gunk out.
if there's only a few tubes blocked, you might be able to get away with a professional clean. i used a rad flush gun in mine which cleared out a ton of rust flakes, performance noticeably improved but still eventually overheated on the highway. what finally fixed it was just taking it to a shop where they probably used some acid or whatever to really clean the innards out. one or two tubes were still clogged disappointingly, but now i can cruise down the highway all day and the needle never goes past halfway.

look up symptoms if you actually want to know. but basically off the top of my head, violent/angry outbursts, violent moodswings, swings between narcissism and self-hate, attachment/abandonment issues, and some other stuff. its one of the worst mental disorders you can have and its not exclusive to women, it destroys lives of both those who have it and those around them. people tend to fetishize bpd as "cute" which just ends up encouraging those people who have it to lean into it and let it take over instead of trying to manage it.
>>28854446
yes. this is called "splitting". bpd people tend to think in black and white and their worldviews can change over very tiny things and make them get paranoid and fall out of love with someone.

Very based. Definently get the wheels back to factory silver though, they look damn good like in that example pic. Silver on silver is a good look, black wheels look too much like those trashed Mercedes you see in a bad area.

>I'm swapping the automatic trans out though, I don't care if it's rare.
Autos on E34s are rare now? Times are really changing
>>
>>28857815
I don't think so, she kept going on about having bad past relationships and having some shit happen to her when she was younger. The theory of my friends was that because I was an actual normie and not a retard like her all ex's (i.e not an abusive egomaniac) she must've been looking too close for faults and any tiny fault would be amplified in her mind. I think that kind of makes sense, that theory did make me think that she probably assumed her bad dating history means all future ones would also have to be bad.
>>
>>28857826
the frequency with which she'd bring up her exes is also probably a sign she still thinks about them a lot. i reckon you're giving her too much credit.
>>
>>28857832
I wouldn't say it was frequent, it only really came up once and she just laid out how bad they were and things they did. She never brought them up again.
>>
>>28857826
>..not an abusive egomaniac
I say this without a hint of irony, mostly just sadness -- but your luck with women is so much better if you can at least pretend to be an abusive egomaniac.

>Autos on E34s are rare now?
It's a 540i M-Sport, they made 200 of them, only 65 were automatics
>>
>>28858003
Gotcha. Idk man, returning that thing to absolute stock and keeping the auto could be really worthwhile in the long run. The rarity factor would mean really good future sale prospects no matter the miles you put on it. I'd personally get a second E34 with a manual, switch the gearboxes around, then switch them back before I was going to sell it since it's not a hard job.

Based, mine went past half a million a long time ago kek. M30 engine though so not shocking.
Even so, I still standby the idea of getting a donor car with a manual and switching pieces around for possible resale or just for the sake of good spare pieces. A guy I know has two E34s and one is for work and the other is for fun.
>>
>>28858060
It came with a full trans/diff/drive shaft/etc... swap in the trunk actually, so I'm just dropping that in for now
The automatic is really worn out which is one of the reasons I got it so cheap
>>
>>28858062
>The automatic is really worn out which is one of the reasons I got it so cheap
That's fair then that you'd want to swap it. You could always just repair it over time, I have some pieces around that are like that where I'll just gradually recondition them.

They do, and I drive stick, but I got the A10 because:

1) it gaps the manual in 60 rolls by a significant amount in Mexico

Sounds like a trihard attitude. Same reason no one cares bev appliances are quicker to 60 than just about anything out there. It's more fun to row gears than race.
>2) I live in a major city and commute to work in traffic. I want to be lazy and put the radar cruise control on while listening to 40k audiobooks
I live in major city, in the top ten worst traffic in the US, and a stick works just fine. My radar cruise works just fine when I shift. I find it much easier to be lazy in traffic in a stick than having to ride the brakes in an autotragic.

Same, though as I got older and learned more about them, the prevailing opinion seemed to be that they were shit, for whatever reason. I admit it feels a bit cheap owing to the fibreglass body, but overall it seems like a really well thought out and practical design, coupled with great looks and a fairly pokey motor. Kinda surprises me how they've never really come up in value, 'cause they're pretty good cars.

Yeah, the NB 15" Enkeis. I sanded all of the paint off and polished the fuck out of them. Sanded the Mazda badges off while I was at it. They're nice and they were only $80 for the set, I'd rather have the factory Kia 15" alloys
>>28860307
I don't see why I wouldn't, it only cost me $300 out of pocket to have an all-over done. I did all of the bodywork and prep work and I wanted to do a facia swap from the hatchback. That and it barely costs much to keep running
