Your mom gets great enjoyment from hauling on my Richard and I love to haul her big sweaty asscheeks apart and thrust my Richard cranium deep into her womanhood over and over before hauling it out and blasting all over her back.

For most trucks, the efficiency difference between bed cap and no bed cap is essentially nothing. I keep a bed cap on my truck because it lets me leave my ice fishing gear in my truck instead of having to haul it out and put it away any time I’m driving to somewhere other than the lake, a hard bed cap plus a locking tailgate is secure enough for me to feel comfortable leaving things in there even when parked in town.
Being able to go though the car wash or down a muddy road or through a storm without having to worry about the stuff in my bed is nice as well.

>roll up or tri-fold tonneau that still lets you easily use the bed
acceptable
>one piece tonneau (soft or hard) where you'd have to remove the entire thing to be able to carry a motorcycle or an appliance
Not acceptable

keeps people from seeing whats in the bed, though not completely secure. keeps most of the water and dust out but not completely water or dust proof. keeps people from throwing shit in your bed. idk about aero
i have had three of them on two different trucks and the cheap covers are garbage.

Ability to have stuff in bed and still be out of sight and somewhat protected from the weather.
Also prevents degenerate white trash noggers from being able to throw empty beer cans and other trash in your truck bed

Whenever I ask truck guys OP's question, the answer they always give is
>So people cant see inside. Keeps them from stealing.
Thieves are opportunists. If they see it, they will take it.

My AU came with a lockable hard lid, it was handy until it wasn't.
Just chucking shit in there, no need to tie it down, able to leave things in there for days and just lock it, etc.
Then comes the day you need to transport something large, and you're forever alone so you have to remove it yourself. Or the absolute worst case, you go to pick something up, and THEN realise it won't fit under the cover, so your options are to either go home and come back without the lid, or bodge it.

100% get one, turns your truck into the modern version of the classic highway cruiser with a massive fucking trunk capacity.
Dump all your luggage in the bed, keeps it dry and away from thieving nigs (monkey see, monkey steal).
It doesnt really do anything for fuel economy, I hand calculated before and after and there was no noticeable change.
Mine is an Undercover hard cover, you can stand on it or put a 4-wheeler on it but it also removes pretty easily if needed (two pivot screws at the front).
Only downside i've had is that the rivets used to attach the metal to the plastic at the front started breaking and I had to re-rivet them. Took about 15-20 min and I've only had to do it once in 12 yrs of ownership.
Personally I wouldnt get a fabric one or even those segmented ones but I know what I'm putting in there (99% it fits while closed) and like I said it's not a big deal to remove the Undercover hard tonneau even with one person, unless you're a gay boy.

So you can cover the load without having to worry about a bulky piece of plastic?

no thanks, soft covers are usually the cheapest, they flap and are the least secure. ill keep my fiberglass topped aluminum that can be secured, at least you would need tools to get into, that tarp can be opened with a finger.

I just put screws through the stake pocket fastener holes. Its not a locking tailgate so I'll have to keep my eyes out for one in the junkyard

nah it folds the shortway, I just made it out of scrap hence the need for the cut lengthwise

Had a vinyl bed cover and left my tool boxes on the bed for years. It eventually shrunk and broke snaps until I removed it. Left my tool box in the bed ONE TIME over night and they were stolen.
