Only difference now is i buy as much wearable components as i can and just have a store supply of parts. Downgraded to points on the '73, regularly change fluids, always change filters, let it warm up for 2-5 minutes before driving, do make sure to have material like gasket sheets, o-rings, hardlines, softlines, aviation sealer etc, and always overhaul the suspension bushes, brakes and wheel bearings to avoid hassles. I dont drive it like a spastic and treat it politely and it becomes polite back. Any time an electrical component fails ill replace/convert to an off the shelf solution. Keep it all stock and its happy and i get to enjoy low rpm cruising with a torquey motor and comfortable interior

'64 Vanden Plas 4 Litre R. Had it almost 2 years now and it's been faultless.

I've had three dailies including a bike and all of them happened to be from 2007. All three still on the road, the bike became my weekend toy when I got the first car, and then I grew out of it and now it's my lil' bro's daily.

I bought a Hyundai Getz GL brand new in 2004 and sold it last year. So I had it for 21 years and as far as I know it's still going but then again I did sell it to a woman so it might be written off now.

I've owned my 1998 Geo Tracker since 2005. She's still trucking, and has carried me often across much of the country.

My first car was a 1980 Lebaron and she lies fallow and chewed by packrats at the family farm. I wish to restore her to working order for the first time since 2012. Those dreams must wait until summer.
