This one, lowered, is just Guilia hatchback. Perfect car.

Suvs need a v8 to be cool
>>
>fx50
in modern parlance, you know ball. These things had the big brakes, better final drive ratio and, most importantly, the VK50 5 liter v8.

I'm still salty they left MERICA!!!!!
I understand why they did, but why must I live in the wrong generation?
All I can do is watch Jimnys overseas when I can finally have the solvency to afford one new, and baby it for the next 2 decades.

It's really not that great. Looks cool as fuck NGL.

So are these
>>
>>28860014
2/2 because these look cool, are utilitarian, and are easy to work. GMT400 is peak truck.
>>
>>28859974
Also probably an RSQ8
>>
>>28859996
They did make them in manual. It's just that the Dakar cars were automatic.
>>
>>28860065
Lastly, Ineos Grenadier.

Honorable mention to the Escalade V, it didn't make the cut cause it'd be too big for the wife.

At what point does a car go from a lifted hatchback to a crossover to an SUV?
>>
>>28860132
Bigger wheels. Stage 1,2,3. You get no more interior just a bigger shell.

What's the closest to the Prado the USA gets, the LX450/70? Miss me with that turbo hybrid V6 bullshit.
>>
>>28860180
Prado would've been the Lexus GX. The new ones are also turbo hybrid V6 slop because Toyota is now retarded.
The new US-spec "Land Cruiser" is also technically a Prado, but it's also been neutered with a 4cyl hybrid powertrain as well.

New? Probably one of these if were actually purchasable and not a couple million bucks. It seems like a GMT800 Yukon XL or Burb is as good as it gets and there isn't any point in buying any other SUV imo. I wouldn't go back to a 6 lug SUV or anything with less space than that.

They don't want my money. Would've got a stelvio qv to my old Giulia
>>
>>28859887
Any SUV that actually has an interesting drivetrain, probably has a car counterpart with the same (or better) guts. So there's no reason to buy an SUV unless you live in the literal wilderness, and no, dirt roads don't count.
>>
>>28860836

I prefer the QX50/EX37 refresh because of its smaller size and hatchback proportions. It also supposedly have more rear legroom (QX50 refresh) because they stretch the wheelbase, but I do appreciate the vented front seats of the FX/QX70 and the V8 too, but I still like the VQ37.
I would actually buy this Infiniti SUV for the purpose of towing my car to and from the track when I have kids that don't fit my rear seats. I would also only do this when I have the money and Nissan/Infiniti Depreciation destroys its value

I don't generally like SUV's because they typically make a lot of tradeoffs that don't seem worth it, but the new-ish maxda cx-70 looks like it would be a good time
>low-boost turbo 3.3 straight-6
>"AWD"

For a car like that the reliability matters a lot, and mazda's had a great reputation over the past 20 years
>>
>>28859972
had one of these as a work vehicle once. completely forgettable
>>
>>28861209
Yeah that sounds like it agrees with the other anon's description "V6 accord truck". There's nothing remotely interesting about an accord.

I know I would buy one, because I did. I always thought Discos were just slightly less utilitarian Defenders, but turns out they're more like a budget Range Rover. Very comfy, very well equipped, and built better than I thought. I originally bought it to sell on, but I liked it so much that I'm actually gonna keep it.

You know a Cherokee Trackhawk goes faster around a track than many cars half it's weight, right? I have no issues getting my 6500lb SUV sideways and controlling it at 50+mph. Maybe perhaps it's just a skill issue for you???

It's always a relative thing, at any given power, ride quality, or theme, the sedan/coupe ride be faster, handle better, and have more character. SUV's make too many tradeoffs to give it the ability to tow, the optimal configuration is always to have a nice car and a cheap truck. Not to say you can't have a fun SUV, but you may as well split the duties

The older ones pop up for sale. Maximum Deep State right there.
>>
>>28863941
I wouldn't really have much use for the armoring. I guess people couldn't smash your windows very easily. I mostly want them just because they're a new 3/4 ton SUV which doesn't exist anymore on the consumer market.
>>
>>28863247

I wanted a CX-50 but then my next-door neighbor got one, so now I can't because it'll be like I'm copying them.
Feels bad man. They even got the color that I wanted...
>>
>>
>>28864046
In which case, it's GSA Auctions for the ex-police liquidations. Most aren't armored, it's mostly for SWAT teams that load them heavy with equipment. I don't know where people get the idea that they'll stuff eight door kickers with a Suburban, because that's what the black minivan is for.
