Ehh, Idt the Dark Horses are worth the premium. Mach 1 handling packs are cheaper and look better imo. GT350s aren't exactly daily drivers, but Gen 3 Voodoos are pretty refined and I'd take one over a DH 10/10 times. Either of those could be found for $20k+ cheaper than a DH in the US at least. Idk what your discount equates to because idk MSRP or markup in your country.

Or, a low mileage used S550 GT for 1/3 the price and that'd give you a lot of money to do it better than Ford. I just don't think the DH will hold their value compared to Mach 1s or GT350s and you're basically buying a handling pack GT with 20 more HP, a Tremec and a worse interior than S550s.

Thats fair. Most people don't keep a car forever though and the majority of Mustangs on the road had a MSRP sub $40k. DHs are approaching double that. Shelby and Mach 1 hold their value longer. Basically just saying to buy something that has already depreciated or won't do it as rapidly. DH just doesn't have the model history as the other 2 and is a more generic package than even a Mach 1.

What? Like a diff cooler? Used low mileage PP1 with magneride can be found for near $30k. $7-10k for suspension, chassis braces, wheels, tires, diff cooler and a tune. Boom. You're in Dark Horse territory. Throw some different pads on the Brembos and head to the track. The only thing you can't do is the Tremec. If you're going to have fun with your car, this is the way. The aftermarket kills Ford's factory suspension packages.

Granted, if you're gonna do all this you're better off getting an alpha platform like a 1LE. But some dudes like Mustangs more even if it's not the better car from the start.

If it's better, why does it matter? Ive never drove a DH but I've drove a decent amount of handling pack Mach 1s and GT350s and have owned a HP Mach 1. Properly setup GTs on aftermarket suspension are undeniably better.
