I hate inbred mechanics. I have papers saying they did this on 8/2/19 and it's always leaked fuel since i bought it in 2020

Working on my friends shitty 07 SI. Pretty sure he fried his clutch with this weird slave cylinder with too long of a rod. Had to cut it way down just to get the clutch to engage. Didn't help he had some nasty ass clutch fluid. Did the brakes and rear calipers while I was it it. Hopefully it lasts 2 more years before he sends it to the junkyard.

Went to clean the IAC valve because my scanner said it was physically stuck.
Turns out I had a hole in the intake boot to the IAC valve.

I’m going to rent a house soon and I have to choose between one with a garage that has an inspection pit and another with a bigger garage that’s wider and longer. Is an inspection pit really a game changer for working on cars, or is it just a meme for doing oil changes?

The Tahoe held a vacuum for two weeks so I charged it, compressor kicked on the second low side hit 45psi. I have no idea why it stopped working two years ago, but I know it doesn't leak and the nigger the man I sold it too took it too emptied it.

Probably not. But you have a Nissan, so you should do it anyway. Worst case, you're just another in a long line of clapped out Nissans.
It does sound like your steering rack is damaged beyond the point of return. You should probably get to work replacing it. RIP in peace, your wallet.

To be fair this applies to pretty much every post 2000-2005 vehicle, computers, plastic, etc...
Once had to change the oil pan on a 2010's F-350(not mine) because the thing was made out of fucking ABS plastic.

>delay purchase, save money, take bus or carpool in meantime.
If you're urban, bike or transit are options. If you're rural you've got neighbours, if they aren't friends enough then you shouldn't be living rural.

Several. I have a 1973 Midget that is my primary project, although it is stalled pending a frame straightening. I am also fixing my 3.0i Z3, hence the torn intake boot above. I have a 1989 Suburban I'm about to replace the steering box on. And I have a 1987 RV that I am about to dewinterize. All of them are higher quality than your turd, even the Midget.
I also have a 1989 BMW, but it doesn't need work.

>trying to find a coolant leak for ages
>Car got hot once about a year ago from a cracked thermostat, been paranoid about a blown head gasket since but no proof
>Patch up all the leaks
>Still slowly loosing coolant, from max fill to min in a few weeks
>no drops of coolant on the ground anywhere
>Am I burning coolant?
>Throw some UV dye in
>Run it, then let it sit for a week
>All the plugs are dry
>All the cylinders are dry, no cylinders look steam cleaned
>Huh
>Get the car up on ramps, get under
>Check where the hoses meet the heater core
>Clamps and hose ends are glowing, visible droplet on the hose
>drops onto the subframe so no drops on the ground
What a relief

I too drive a Nissan, it's the one above with the horns on the hood, but you see it's currently on jack stands while I wait for a cv driveshaft because the outer cv joint failed when the boot got torn.
Not essential to drive it around, could throw it back together and do so while I wait for the shaft in the mail.
But you know why that truck is still driving good after 32 years of life? Because I and it's previous owner both took/take good care of it. Sure the body is a little dented and rusted, farm life will do that, but mechanically it's mint.
So in the meantime the aforementioned Shepherd neighbour has lent me their Ranger.
If you drive it around while it's fucked you're just going to fuck it harder and I doubt that car will earn itself a lifetime on the road as a result.

>If you drive it around while it's fucked you're just going to fuck it harder
the part that's fucked is already fucked, so I might as well use it to make money. If more things get damaged because that part failed catastrophically then that would be a bitch, but I doubt that will happen (anytime soon). Cars are this amazing thing where money solves the problem and I live in an area where rust isn't an issue.

You wanted advice, you got advice, you're the one who's arguing
>nah I wont save for parts that'll last
>nah fuck alternate transportation to save money long term
>nah I'll just drive it until it breaks
You're the one who wants to argue.
