That is the absolute worst fucking feature of new cars. On many of the 2020+ models you can't even take off the headrests of flip them around to resolve the issue.

Has been a thing since the uhhhh 70s I think, volvo and saab specifically.
I remember how everyone was singing praises of the 700 series seats because IT'S DESIGNED BY ORTHOPEDOS BRO THEY KNOW BETTER THAN YOU BRO.
Their seats were exactly the ones on the right, non adjustable headrests and the seats weren't even that good.

My dad had an '18 Giulia and that shit was fucking awful in it, made even worse by the fact that even at the highest setting the top edge of the headrest was around the top of my neck rather than behind my actual head, and I was always afraid I'd get turned into a quadriplegic if I got rear ended driving it.

Nucar seats in general feel like they're only designed to be driven leaned way back, but then they put the pedals too close and the wheel too far away for that, so you'd be driving with your fingertips barely touching the wheel and your knees in the dash. Toyota are particularly horrible about that. One of the main reasons I put up with Ford's bullshit is that they're one of the only major car companies that still has sane ergonomics.
