i think automating away the majority of your workforce without offering them an alternative is probably a net bad for society
> guy graduates high school in 2010, no shot at college
> hires into UAW
> works mindless job installing doorhandles for 20 years
> 2030 his job is automated away
> previously had a well paying job relative to his skill level
> now he’s working at McDonalds because he has no skills
while i am not pro UAW i do feel bad for people that find themselves here. i think specialization is the way to go for these sorts of people, but if every person in this situation became a pipefitter or welder or millwright, then in the interim they have no one to build cars, leading to immigration or offshoring plants. this is why china is ahead, because they never had to contend with the UAW, and so they both have onshore plants that are fully automated

A robot is a machine that can carry out tasks automatically.

you are retarded
this is old news
https://www.repairerdrivennews.com/2025/11/25/humanoid-robots-complete -11-month-project-at-bmw-plant/
but obviously a humanoid robot is not nessisary when you can instead just design the factory to use collaborative arms for a fraction of the cost
humanoid robotics are only needed when you are plugging a gap in an existing line
