I decided to watch Fast and Furious before the sequels will disappear from Netflix and after watching the first movie I have a couple questions.
>does double clutching actually make sense if your car wasn't designed in 50's or so?
>how did Dom know Brian wasn't double clutching if he obviously couldn't look at Brian's pedals while sitting in another car? (I guess there's no good answer for this one)
>are JDMs really so popular among drag racers in the US?

it doesn't hurt to learn the skill and it can be very satisfying when you nail it, but synchros make it unnecessary, unless you like preserving your synchros.

You can easily tell
But bringing up "double clutching"makes zero sense in any drag racing context, it's just movie word salad. You've already wasted more energy on that line than the person that wrote it

None of these cars are JDM

or if they're worn out

I've tried many times, but it doubles/triples the amount of time spent in between gears compared to single clutch. Maybe a short throw shifter would help, flapping my arm around moving the stick to the right place takes the most time.

If you really wanna pretend to be a professional racist, you slam the gears in raw.
Clutch is only needed from a standstill

yeah it does take more time. but it's just fun
