It's got a LT1 and a 4L60E. The transmission is known to be a little weak but millions were made and it's not "unreliable."

It's a fine platform but anything of that age is going to have the question of just what does it need right now (is the suspension rotted out, brakes, cooling system), and how long is it going to be before it needs something major.
If it's cheap enough and not rotted out it's worth keeping running.
