why the fuck are they so expensive?
I drive a 325i e91 (218hp inline 6 manual rwd) with M3 front arms and its honestly fun to trash around corners
a cayman from the same year costs like 8 times as much
sure its faster, but 8 times faster, 8 times more fun to drive?
I dont get it, sure they are sports cars, but whats with the premium? the baby porcshes are insanely priced
its insane to see a 911 on the road and its actually 2-3 times more expensive than an S-class
and to think porsche needs their SUVs to stay afloat...

Ever since coof especially it seems like they've been trying to raise Porsches into exotic status. Barely a decade ago you could grab a 996 for under $10k, especially a tip Cabrio. Air cooled 911s were still no more than $25-50k on average. A regular 996 coupe would've been around $15k. Those prices have since doubled if not more, for no reason other than the meme status of the brand.
>sure its faster, but 8 times faster, 8 times more fun to drive?
Compare any 335i, especially with a shitty off the shelf tune, and it'd probably blow the doors off of the Cayman. "But muh twisties!", the Porschephile might claim, but again, is it worth paying multiple times what a faster car might cost just so you can claim to be faster around a corner? The dude that pulls up in a clapped old Miata can claim the same thing.
I don't know, I just don't get how something like a 2007-08 Cayman S can cost ~$30k used while having a 0-60 time of 5.1 seconds. A Mustang GT of the same year matches that. A Subaru WRX is even faster. Hell, a BMW 135i of the same era is faster than that stock, no tune shit needed, and you can grab one around $10k, less sometimes. I'm sure it's fun, but is the "feel" of the mid engine really worth paying 3-4x as much to have a car that'll be slower in 95% of regular driving? Sovl isn't an excuse either, since that only works when you're driving an actual classic, plus I'm comparing with cars of the same vintage.

I'm happy paying extra knowing that spics and faggots like you won't be driving the same car as me. It's meant to filter poorfags like you.

you are talking out of ass.
Porsche is for connoisseurs who want an exceptionally reliable and fun to drive premium car.
Ferrari is for people who ultimately buy a Porsche as a daily driver because the Ferrari is in the shop most of the time

It's not reliable, nor is it premium, it's a volkswagen. No Ferrari owner would be caught dead in a Volkswagen.

Niggers aren't incels, man, they fuck like rabbits. My black friend drives a 93 Fleetwood, it's pretty boss, I'd say it gets more attention than the German shitwagons. Insanely under powered, though, the first year got the 307 Olds.

A 7 race car is probably fun, as a street car they have always been a joke, Esprits are free for a reason, and they had their own motor, the new ones are Toyota powered, because Toyotas are known for their sports car soul.

Oh, it is. That car is leaking everywhere.
German cars are a fucking horror when the motor is in the front, this 15 second turd is going to be on a whole different level. These cars cost less than a Corrola for a reason.

Yes.
For you, /o/ posters, it won't be because you can fix it. If a teenaged girl brings that car to the dealer how much would it be to straighten out an $8,000 Porsche?
>>
i thought this was a case of euro cars being much more expensive in america for no reason but it seems you can get a clean cayman s in the states for around 12k usd so the prices are pretty similar, in what 3rd world shithole does a cayman cost 8 times as much as an e91 325i

Buy it, then, seems like the internet is full of money making opportunities for a man of your ability.
100% sorted you can sell that sexy little thing to a sexy little thing for $20,000. No young lady wants to drive a Camry.
Keep me posted.

You do not compare a Cayman or 911 to a Mustang or a WRX. They are not in the same league of driver engagement. WRX is just a cheap econobox and Mustang is Americrap.
My preference is for the 330i ZHP or the Z3 since I prefer low-end torque to revving the shit out of the engine, but I can't deny that the 911/Cayman/Boxster are fucking tight and fun to drive. There's a tier of excellence that's worthy of love and that changes the desirability.

You are talking to someone who has never driven a car outside of a video game. He knows Porsches in and out, though. Porsche owners are known to be hands on.

16 cars in at this point and most of them were on the lower end of the market, you'd have the same reaction towards every single one and yet they were all pretty much fine
whatever past experience or trauma is causing all this anxiety towards old cars for you is not my problem
wanna see the 4.2 v8 jag i bought for £3800 2 years ago?

I posted my car above, it's 39 years old.
It is not, however, a disposable piece of shit like that Indian built Ford you are posting.
I'm going out, without a fake rich car, you fellows take care, I do love you.

Multiple Porsche owner here, and I'll agree they've really gotten ridiculous in pricing.
Conveniently this also acts as a nice filter so you're not seeing a bunch of brownoids driving around in the same car and giving the brand a bad reputation a la Chally Wally and they dont call bmw the "Brown Man's Wheels" for nothing.
If I was in your position as a young lad today and looking for a sporty ride while being strapped for cash I'd either keep driving the e91 shitbox I have or get something cheap and fun like a miata, a mustang gt, c8 (or earlier vette). Then if you save your money, make some good decisions, get a little bit lucky and maybe once youre ready to step up to a porsche or something you'll be in a better financial position to do so.
Don't live your life in a world of seethe but dont break the bank trying to look like youre wealthy when youre not. It's fairly simple if you dont let your ego get in the way and just enjoy your car(s) but I know thats not the zeitgeist here so carry on.

I don't understand this larp of >porsche is for white pride. I was at a cars n coffee in long beach the other day and majority of the 911 owners were tech jeets in patagonia vests. Same thing at tons of other events. Nobody actually thinks this way in the real world or in real places. It's purely an image in the brain of terminally online larpers

I see no need to pay more new for anything than BMW.
new M BMW cars are actually quite reasonably priced considering their monstrous performance and reliability.
I would find it very hard to justify buying a new 911 over a new M5 on price difference alone and not being a super porsche fanboy
>>
>>
>>
>>28863117
its an acquired taste for sure. I think the crazy direction they took all the new G generation M cars in is quite cool actually.
BMW mogs porsche so hard in value for the money, all the tech jeets and porsche fanboys try to push the 911 into the supercar category when it doesn't deserve that at all.

i didn't even consider a porsche when looking for my M5. i looked at E63s and a ZL1. i think 911s are more of like what a miata driver would get if he was successful in life. also for example i don't think many M5 owners are cyclists while i think all 911 owners are.
