I've never felt inclined to turn on a radio. Who the fuck is concerned with this? How fucking old are you?
>>
>>28862365
zoom but cant be bothered to search for an album for every commute and back, so turn on radio 2 and get the traffic reports.

what sort of subhuman are you

I haven't listened to the radio in any of my cars since the 2010s, and even then it was rare because I had an ipod and an aux cord or transmitter. Now it's a phone instead of an ipod, but still, I don't use the radio. And no, I don't have jewify or some other streaming service. I torrent my music and upload it to my phone.
>>
who the fuck cares about radio

What a sorry life you zoomers lead. Truly a grim existence.

>not streaming underground, alternative internet radio stations instead
>not having a dedicated high capacity old phone/MP3 player for your music collection
>not having a CD or cassette deck in your car (shame most nucars already don't)
Couldn't be me. FM radio has sucked for years, the classic rock stations all died off and became "classic hits" stations that just play the same dozen '80s songs and a few '90s songs over and over. "Alt rock" stations just play the same dozen late '90s and early '00s rock songs they've played for the last 20 years, just with Twenty One Pilots and Imagine Dragons now shoehorned into rotation. Country stations just mostly play derivative bro-country instead of proper outlaw country let alone any classics, and 99% of the rest of FM (in the US at least) is just hip hop and latin "urban" shit plus NPR.
>and now here's another 10 minute commercial break after 3 songs

new cars don’t even come with CD players

>59 minutes, 40 seconds of (((advertising)))

>it's either way too late because you've been in traffic waiting for the report or it doesn't mention anything at all
Total radio death

Just use a usb drive full of mp3s retard. I never use the radio in my 2014 econobox because I can literally put thousands of songs I chose on shuffle with the option to call any one up by voice if it fits my mood.
"oh shuffle is too chaotic for me bro I need curated sets to vibe with" bruh my 12 year old car can use wmp playlist files, you need to get gud

I fucking love Bizarre Ride 2 the Pharcyde
>>
>>28862417
You won't be laughing when the rotational velocidensity degrades those nasty lossy mp3s and there's no radio. You'll have to sing or something.
>>
>dad always just used cd players
>my only experience with radio was the radio on gta games
If I wanted a radio station I'd probably just burn VCPR Pressing Issues on a disc and listen to that well no I guess you just use a usb nowadays but uh yeah I'm autistic when playing racing games I usually turned off music to focus better so all my irl 47 minute commutes to work have me listening to the drone of the engine.
>>
I listen to the college radio station

I bet you buy phones without SD slots too, don’t you chuddie? Go pirate some music and buy a TB SD card. Hell, you can do it with USB drives

There's revanced, metrolist, and numerous others for free streaming

The fuck I will, I have enough blank CDs for at least the next decade
>>
FM radio sucks, the current day DJs have shit taste so I just load my phone with albums I like and play them via bluetooth
>using phones at all
Well Mr. Unabomber, chinks still sell MP3 players and some of them even have Bluetooth too
>>
forced? I have a rack with 260 cds of my favorites that I ripped to my homelab server for backup and stick whatever I want on my phone locally
>>
>>28862358
My car still has a functioning cassette and CD player.
>>
>>28862358
Damn, how are you going to listen to your top-40 goyslop now?
>>
>>28862369
How the fuck do you listen to terrestrial radio? It's the same fucking 10 songs over and over again and every single fucking set of DJ's are reading off of the same script. Even the public hippy hipster stations are barely listenable most of the time.
>>
Radio stations are just 30% ads these days anyway, especially during lunchbreaks.

>>FM radio will die in your lifetime
Good. All major stations are owned by a massive conglomerate who forces them to play the same, cheapest to license songs on repeat while playing a stupid amount of ads.
>>you will be forced to pay for a streaming app
Learn to pirate.

>>28862358

I only listen to the radio when I travel out of state.
>>
>turn FM radio on
>Ads and ads and ads and ads and ads
Are you people retarded?
>>
>turn on any media
>ad ads ads ads ads and ads and ads ads and ads
is everyone retarded?
>>
>>28862638
I'd rather pay and not hear/see ads than have to listen to bullshit ads all day.
If you watch or listen to 30 seconds of ads a day, which is low for the average Americunt, that's 3 hours a year of ads you consume. That's not normal you fucking retard.
>>
>>28862638
>is everyone retarded?
Yes, that's why spotify is so successful. People are either too lazy or retarded to build their own playlists from scratch.
>>
>>28862358
sucks. i almost exclusively listen to the radio. i dont change it off of the one station i listen to since i like the music it plays and the hosts are at least somewhat funny. the ads i just dont mind at all desu. worst case i turn down the radio or just tune it out until a song comes back on. only time i consider plugging my phone into the aux is when i feel like playing a certain album/song or if theres a talk show on and i dont give an ounce of a shit.
probs got it from my dad, he always had a rock station on while my mom always listened to her own library.
i dont think fm radio is gonna be going away for quite some time, but maybe in a few decades it might, although fm services are still widely used and relied on
>>
last time i turned on the radio it was some stupid woman talking about having sex with a bunch of guys at a music festival in a tent so i turned it off and drove home in silence. havent listened since
>>
>>28862358
I use a bluetooth cassette adapter and mp3's on an old 128Gb phone. Works well for me as all my cars have cassette players.
>>
>>28862358
Why would you care about FM radio? I either drive in silence or hook up my phone and play music from that. No, I'm not a zoomgroid, I just don't see the point of any kind of radio station when I can pick what I want to listen to when I want to listen to it. Also no gay ads which take up more time than the songs and no faggot radio host who thinks he's king of teh funniez.
>>

HERE I AM

ROCK YOU LIKE A HURRICANE
>>
I don't tolerate ads in any form, so I would only listen to the state sponsored classical station. And I stream that anyway because the quality is better. Otherwise I'm streaming my own playlists.
>>
>>28862645
It's absolutely the latter. Todays "people" can't figure out how to torrent a file.
>>
I want to know how people that stream from their phone have any battery life at all. I think mine would die within a few hours so I use a DAP but coworkers seem to use their phones all day.

I love this fake zoomer nostalgia

Anyone who actually listened to radio knows fm has been dead for over a decade

They won't connect to a car headunit. I've tried several. They only connect to wireless headphones
Idk why bluetooth is dumb like that. But whoever came up with selective connections should be shot
>>
>>28862926
i just use a thumb drive with music on it but that has nothing to do with the current state of FM radio.

The only stations left in my area are a christian station that keeps grabbing all the frequencies townsquare shuts down and a retarded mental diarrhea liberal news station taking over music stations trying to convince the farmers that being republican is literally hitler.

It's idally every 10 minutes but the (((advertising))) is obnoxious and lately it's been completely been skipping wherever I find myself stuck. What's worse, my phone bricked over the weekend so now I have no navigation OR music. I can format a flash drive for the car but that'd only work on cars with USB ports
>>
>>28862358
The USB loaded with music doesn't care about subscriptions, age, or if my nanomachines are the latest generation. It will continue not to care for decades to come.
>what about new music
There has maybe been a handful of decent songs released in the last two decades. Nothing of value lost.

>>28863702
ahh rip. ones around me thankfully still keep to the schedule. lately though i've noticed that they cut even more from the end of a song to stuff more ads in. it's especially jarring when the singer is still belting it out and then the host or some ad plays on top lmfao.

>>28863937
Apple has made it all but impossible to do that on modern-day iPhones. It's like they want you to subscribe to (((premium apps))) and gimp your storage space. I had an 8GB iPhone a decade ago and I had to pick between having apps on it or music. To make things worse, something went wrong with the software and all my music abruptly stopped at 2:15 into any song. I vowed to never buy an iPhone again.

Radio is like the one thing that will not die. There will always be regular people who are very proficient in it. You'll always have a ham radio guy, and if you don't it's time to become a ham radio guy

I'll listen to the dad rock station if I have too, but the same 50 or whatever songs they play gets older after a while.
>>
I listen to the local radio station when I'm in the shop. It's bretty gud. They play quite a bit of classic country... Usually don't listen to anything when I drive though.
