who is buying these cars? are boomers actually that rich they can drop a quarter mil on a falcon?
>>
>>28862435
>race mech injection
fucking useless
>>
>>28862457
Nobody is buying them, boomers just set an insane price tag and hold it until they either keel over or accept defeat and trade it at a dealer.
>>
>>28862457
Its not that the car is expensive it is that the dollar is that devalued,
In 1973 6000aud could buy you 140 ounces of gold, worth about 1 million today.
So the car is worth about 1/5th the price it was new if we go by gold value which you should.
>>
>>28862632
220000 dollars is still alot of money lol
>>
>>28862633
Its 5 times less than the car cost brand new and that car is basically new with 4000km
>>
>>28862635
>XB coupes were equivalent to 1.2 million dollars new

>>28862635
You're retarded.
>>
im winning the XY from lmct
>>
>>28862635
they were 7000 new, about 40k in todays money
>>
>>28862642
go see how much gold 7k would buy you in 1973 because it is a lot more than 40k worth, you are dumb if you think our money is that valuable, 40k will buy you like 5 ounces of gold in 2026. Gold has never gone up in value, dolla4 has gone down.
>>
>>28862648
>cars are the same as gold

>>28862635
Low k's doesn't mean much, parts age from both time and disuse.

Not sure if trolling or actually retarded and doesn't understand what inflation is
>>
>>28862665
They think inflation is far far less than it actually is, gold is and always will be the true measure of inflation as it is actually money.
>>
>>28862665
>Average wage in 1973: $4100/year
>Average house price in 1973: $18,000
>Price of that Falcon in 1973: $4000
>>
>>28862675
yeah but the average wage currently is 1.2m so for 220k its 1/5 the cost when new
>>
>>28862676
Not exactly how it works, no. Average wage now is about 100k and a car like that built today would cost around 110k. Other ones on CarSales are also around the 150k mark as well and that is a more accurate price than what the boomer OP wants.
>>
>>28862677
Its not 100% original which is what boomers want so 80k is more realistic
>>
>>28862675
Ackshually the base model GT was over 5k at the time.
>>
>>28862683

>>
>>28863596
A painting worth 1 billion dollars is worthless if nobody is even willing to buy it for 1 million dollars. Boomers always take a realistic price and tack on an extra 60% just because.
>>
>>28863601
I know. But I also Know What I Got, son.
>>
>>28862435
Is it even a genuine GT? Probably not. It was a redpill discovering that half the "genuine" GTs are just fairmonts with a stolen VIN and running gear and the boomer owners have no idea lmao.
>>
>>28862729
lul those kind of people are gonna have an aneurysm when they look under the hood of my car
>>28863590
i put selective yellow halogens in mine and i get a surprising number of people asking where they can get them as well. i think not many people know they're legal to use.
>>
>>28863657
>selective yellow halogens
That's fine to do, I'm talking about them being LED headlights, not the original halogens that came with the car. LED headlights and DRLs on a 70s car looks retarded, especially on a muscle car.
>>
>>28863683
i like to think people were interested in the yellows because they're also sick of cheaply done led retrofits that blind them. but it's probably just because it's something different.
>>
>>28863758
My bright green headlights get a lot of attention.
>>
>>28863780
Comfy. Wish I could find some empty roads like this with trees around for car pics but it seems like every rural road has at least one other person going on it.
>>
>>28863780
i wish more people used them, even if only for clout chasing because as a side effect night driving would be much comfier.
>>
>>28863788
I feel much safer since running the green lights and I think they should be mandatory for motorcycles.

>>28863758
I don't think it's a good idea to have your headlights the same colour as your indicators but you do you, mate.
>>
>>28863783

>>
>>28863798

I've been pulled over (for speeding) a few times and I've seen other cops on the road who just look at me and keep going. I think they'll only bust your arse if your running blue or red on the front.

My argument will be that hi-vis lights are more visible than plain white lights so I'm safer with hi-vis lights.

Yeah that's a big no kek. I remember there was some fag in my city that had a Holden Caprice (the WN) and changed the parker lights to have a red bulb on one side and blue on the other. I can only imagine how big the ticket was.

I think they probably figured the lights on your bike were OEM since bikes do some strange shit sometimes and it fits in with yours. That and most people really don't care about bikes or their oddities.

ironically the front blinkers are white. even if they were orange, there's no way in hell they could ever be mistaken for them. look up selective yellow. it's a VERY distinct shade of yellow. the closest photo i could find from a quick search is probably this one, it's very similar to the right side in pic related, but photos really don't do it justice, when you see it in person you'll know there's no way to get the two mixed up.
>>
>>28863812
So fake police cars are fine in your country then?

Orange marker lights on cars isn't that unusual either, a lot of Euro cars from the 90s and 2000s had small amber markers before the standard white DRLs replaced markers. They also remained common on US cars from the 60s will into the 2010s.

>>

NTA but I have seen a few new cars with orange front lights, it's always a little jarring since I only used to see it in American movies. And yes it is legal, I looked it up once since I was curious.
>>
>>28863831
Sighting lights are different to your headlights because your headlights are right next to your indicators on the corner of the car.

i think big round yellow headlights are the least of your problems; been seeing more and more rangers and other nu-pickups with orange marker lights dotted across the grille.

I don't think that any other country on earth delivers the death penalty for driving 5 km/h over a speed limit that's 30 km/h too slow. and uses hidden compliance cameras to detect crime and profit from ""crime"".

SA is worse. People think it's Vic and meme, but SA has it so much worse it's unreal. I think SA is the only state that has average speed zones where you're cucked into going slower for 10-20km stretches of road and everyone on the road will slow down by 20km out of fear of tickets.

I was stunned it got approved in the first place, in my mind it'll be just this year and it won't come back. If it's using some of the same areas as the old races, they better get to work on fixing those roads soon since some of them are pretty fucked.

The ones here in SA are more of the basic old British style that are more for small towns than big cities. I don't think so, a lot of car companies don't even operate in NT actually which is pretty funny. I used to work for a pretty big luxury car brand for a while and they didn't sell cars in NT at all, every owner in NT would buy their car from Queensland and take it back to NT. The big issue also became that to get warranty work done at the dealer, they'd have to drive it back to QLD themselves as we had no official support in NT.

There's also a lot of regular shopping brands that don't operate in NT either, a lot of businesses just don't consider the investment to be worthwhile.
