Can someone give me a quick rundown?

Because of where I grew up, I just assumed diesel was pink and gas was clear. Scared the shit out of me the first time I filled up a commercial diesel truck and saw clear fluid drip out of the nozzle.

Something about agricultural tractors and non-DOT vehicles can use this NON-TAXXED Diesel fuel, it's like 90¢ a gallon or something ridiculous in some areas

But around those farm areas, highway patrol and weigh stations have to check and make sure street legal vehicles aren't using it

Generators and fire protection buildings water pump diesel engines too.

I asked my family and apparently they use that diesel in old cars because no one checks normal cars

why not just lower taxes on diesel?

This stuff wrecks hell on new super duty Fords. Got a family friend who's a diesel warranty tech at a Ford dealer. They'll get trucks towed in with bad motors where it's got fresh fuel in the tank and brand new filters but when you pull the injectors it's red dyed. Warranty void.
