Redpill me on the Peugeot 208. I need a new car, and I'm thinking I'll buy one of these tomorrow. Hybrid drivetrain so no wet belt.

Fair enough.
I know nothing about cars but I've always liked the look of the Polo because it's not over-styled like the French cars. The simple things in life are often the best and the German car looks simple and built for purpose.
Good luck.

VW Polo GTi. Imagine sitting here.

Good interior, but I feel it's way too heavy for a subcompact so the engine is undersized, even on the hybrid, good choice if you just want to use it on city driving, but if you have any intentions of doing roadtrips you better pick something else

More expensive, also discontinued I think? Was able got get a rather good deal on the hybrid 208 at around 26.000€.
>>28863197
Even in the 145 cv spec?

I always use my Urban Assault Vehicle for longer road trips.

To add on to >>28863205 for context to >>28863197 my old car was a SEAT Ibiza with 70ish cv/hp, so when I test drove the 208 it actually felt quite powerful.

Yep, that's exactly the ask. I don't feel like I hate the styling, but I do agree with >>28863190 that a Polo has a nicer exterior. Do you also have a suggestion for a comparable car that has a better exterior?

It's more expensive for less features and a cheaper feeling interior, do you feel like they are more reliable? What makes the Polo better?

you could literally buy an s2000 for that price and make money in 5 year when you sell it
you're buying some horrible french hybrid that will be worth 1/3 of that money in 5 years after it develop countless electrical and electronic issues
you better off burning half that money and take the bus anon

...which is also a "VW but without the markup or shit-for-brains drivers"
So you're saying that OP has shit for brains.
>>
>>28863265
I would say why them instead of SEAT, but the interior looks nicer than the current SEAT Ibiza, at least online. That isn't a very high bar though. I might take a look at them tomorrow, and see if I change my mind. Prices look nicer than VW.

No. Describe them to me.
>>
>>28863162
It's a good car, but so are the Clio, the Yaris or the Polo. The 208 stand out point are its exterior and interior design, but that's really a matter of personal preferences. The seating position is unusual so I'd suggest a test drive befote buying. Do you mean the micro hybrid or the plug-in? I would not rec the first.
>>
>>28863312
I didn't think there was a plug in hybrid for the 208. Just the mhev and full electric. I've looked at the plug in 308, but it's a significant amount more money.
When test driving, I noticed that the setup with the gauges and the steering wheel was a bit strange, but I didn't mind it.
