Drag racing was always as stupid as professional racing.

Find a purer form of motorsport

"sport" implies some element of skill

Drag racing is an engineer's sport, just like equestrian sports are trainers' sports. The few minutes in the seat per event, most of them idle, are just a demonstration of your hard work balancing the explodicorns throught the months if not years of prior work.
Not that EV drag can't be exciting, there are guys building electric drag rails and they have their very own set of fun engineering challenges to tackle. "Bought, not built", that's what is not exciting. Teslafags showing up to the drag strip is like AIfags confindentally spamming their "art" on Deviantart and drowning out the actual artists. Lowkey, bone stock Hellcat fags are no different.

Rebuild any engine in less than an hour anon. It's more "sport" than youve ever done

>Drag racing is an engineer's sport
Holy trvke, drag racing is more "motorscience/motorenginnering" than motorsport taking the driver as much as possible out of the equation makes it very clear who made a better car and who understands suspension setup/power management/internal workings of an engine and its efficiency better.

There's shallow staging and reaction times for shifting milliseconds before fuel cut but it's not very skilled. Aspecially in an automatic.
It's fun though. Everyone knows that, it's a simple pleasure.
If I put on mods I hit up the Friday night Test 'n' Tune at the 1320 ten minutes away to see if they do anything, sometimes it's a consistent noticeable improvement.

EVs only edge is 0-60 time

My buddy smoked a Plaid in his tuned 20 year old audi from 60 mph

EVs aren't even allowed on most tracks as it is, and apparently 99.95% of Tesla owners drive on autopilot because I still have yet to see one even try to break a speed limit on the street.

The launch does take a good amount of skill, even being a tenth of a second behind can lose you the race, but the real skill is in building and setting up the car.

Drag racing is all about the engineering and building of the cars. You're really just pitting your mind and wrenching skills against everyone else there. There's a mutual respect between everyone racing, because just building a car to begin with is an impressive feat. The manchildren who show up in Teslas miss this completely. The only part they comprehend is that bigger number = better, and just assume everyone else is mad they were faster.

They actually have a speed limit offset, I think it defaults to like 10% over but you can set it up to 40% which is kinda insane imo

It absolutely killed me finnegan put a solid rear in the rotsun. Everything he owns is a fucking sick week car and I've never been more bored of this fucking content. At least tony angelo hoons shit on the street and conefags

>EVs aren't even allowed on most tracks as it is
we all know that there's like 4 tracks that have these little virtue signaling "bans"

>EV runs 9s
But that's not even quick compared to the Larry Larsons 5.95 @ 244mph in his street legal S10.
