Discuss nudism. Is it something you grew up with, or found later in life? Have you ever considered giving it a try?
I wanted to try making a thread on a blue board in the hopes that there could be a serious discussion instead of the degenerate gooning the occasional nudism thread devoles into on /b/.

I went to a nude beach in Miami and everyone there was disgusting. one old guy was straight up masturbating under a towel. Ended up sunbathing on the patio of my hotel room with towels on the fence.
Another time i housesat for a friend with a fenced in pool and spent the week naked or in a robe. Great time 10/10
I like feeling the sun everywhere and jumping in/out of the pool without dealing with wet clothes but the resorts/beaches seem full of boomer sexpests which is a shame.

It's not that exciting, honestly. Best places are the ones that take exclusion of perverts and weirdos seriously.
Once you're there for a few hours you're pretty much over it. I'm not really sure what brings people to stay at these places summer after summer year after year. It's worth going to experience.

naturism is deeply important to me. i happen to live in close travelling distance to three nude beaches (although really any beach could be nude if its isolated enough). i swim there naked all year long, it is revitalizing to feel the suns rays on my bare skin and to touch the earth and the water directly. travelling nude through the forest is also a great joy

That is specifically the beach I was talking about. It's a cruising spot for gay sexpest boomers. Shame they don't put that on the signs.

Fair enough. This is the correct mindset imo, being honest with yourself and frequenting those social spaces that are attuned to your own values. Prudes (and gawkers, which doesn't seem to be your case) do not belong on nude beaches and you

I went down to the beach with my gf last night because it was 25 degrees at midnight and since we had the entire beach to ourselves we decided to strip off completely. Obviously it was partly sexual and we did fuck while we were down there but there was also an entirely non-sexual pleasure to swimming in the moonlight with no fabric between my body and the waves. I didn't realise I'd enjoy it so much.
It's odd, I've had sex in public a lot (one of my exes had a thing for fucking near waterfalls) but I've never just enjoyed the non-gooner aspect of it the way I did last night.

I like it enough, but haven't gone to any nude beaches. I might just be a bit wary of being naked around strangers, even if my reservations are fading as I grow older.
I visited a friend who has a very remote cabin, and we had just finished casting the foundation for a sauna building kit she had bought. It was summer, hard and hot work, so we were positively drenched in sweat.
We just took our clothes off and left them to soak in a stream before we walked, mother naked, the two hundred metres down to the sea for a swim.
Almost odd, the difference it makes to be naked, compared to wearing a pair of swim shorts, or just boxers. It felt so much more natural. Grounded, in a sense.
Once we had cooled down, I went back to the cabin to get some beers, towels and sandals, and we just sat on the beach, letting the sun and gentle breeze dry us while drinking lukewarm beer in amicable silence.
Will absolutely look for more chances to be naked in nature, lovely experience. I would like to feel a warm summer rain on my body, or laying down in fresh snow.

it's cool for beaches etc, but for hiking/general outdoors i think it's beyond stupid. there's a reason our ancestors immediately invented fucking clothes as soon as we stopped being hairy hominids you know

unless you live in the far north its not winter all year long. harden up! native people here walked around all year in a cedar skirt and barefoot yet somehow didnt die

It's always appealed to me in concept, even as a kid I was always trying to take my swimsuit off etc. The reality that nude beaches and similar places are mostly full of creepy old gay men has always stopped me from doing it though, as does the possibility of people lumping me in with them if I go solo. I wish I could find a GF who was into it so we could do it as a couple.

you know what i mean. they thrived in ways that most normies such as yourself couldnt have dreamed to. while you need to wear many layers of insulating clothing to be comfortable they were able to tread barefoot and nearly naked

But why? I never walk around naked at home. Boxers always on unless I’m showering. I’ve stripped and returned to monkee for bathhouses in Southeast Asia because that’s the thing to do, but swim trunks at a beach are pp armor. You want some fish to come nibble on your dick when you go for a swim?

>they thrived in ways that most normies such as yourself couldnt have dreamed to
They wore a mix of seal skin and furs strictly to survive those harsh winters not necessarily because they wanted to "be comfortable".

I think it makes sense in certain situations, but people do go overboard with insisting on being naked whenever they possibly can. I really just wish the whole "modesty" thing would go away in regards to clothing, most everyday activities and a lot of /out/ makes more sense dressed but swimsuits are fucking pointless and stupid, and if nobody cared about somebody being naked in conditions where it WAS a comfortable and practical option - for example changing or using a solar shower in the open at a campsite, or doing a short easy hike to a lake where you're gonna swim, or yard work on a really hot day, or whatever.

Are you from Lapland or something? Basically every arctic and subarctic tribe wore some sort of insulated clothing be it made from furs, leather or whatever else they could get their hands on. Look at what otzi wore.

This always seemed fishy to me.

I think you're somewhat biased, but it's understandable.
When the default is to wear clothes, nudists have to go to their own spaces where clothing is optional.
Those spaces then get hyped up as something exotic by the people who don't understand why someone would go there, which in turn attracts the voyeurs or exhibitionists and other people who sexualise public nudity. That can deter younger people from seeking out nudist spaces, leaving only those who have gone past caring if they're seen.
Sexualising nudity is antithetical to common nudism practice. You don't see much more than you see at a regular beach. That's not to say that my dick is dead and I don't notice if someone's proper fit, because I do, but I have the decency to keep it to myself. I notice fit girls on regular beaches, on hikes, at the gym, out on the town, or at the shop, and one time I had a confusing but nonetheless pleasant moment where I saw a very handsome man, but I don't go getting hard just for that.
Like in saunas, it's just people being naked in a situation where it's natural to be naked, so I just follow the old sauna adage: look, but don't stare.

>the default is to wear clothes
And it has been for like, what, thousands of years?
Its just such an absolute given that you shouldn't be naked around others that suggesting otherwise is such a huge turn for me. I get theres nothing pointedly sexual about it, its neutral nudity, but its still nudity.
Its like the one subjectively sexual thing you can do with another person that doesn't require the anyone to do anything at all, thats maybe why people feel like they can justify it.

Being clothed for *everyday life* has been the norm for ages, but there were also always occasions where social nudity was completely fine and even common. The athletes in ancient Greece trained, competed and sometimes even fought naked in battle. Swimming and bathing were more commonly done naked than clothed up until a few centuries ago. Bath houses were also visited nude and for saunas and onsen it's still like this today.
You could make your argument for nudists who want to do everything naked but never being naked anywhere is not an absolute given at all.

Nudism is a form of socialization. Poorly socialized recluses (particularly male, particularly American) would never get it because they see it through the lens of their preestablished sexual hangups and/or self-restrictive prudishness

They just want to be naked. I worked at a nude beach with rules against any kind of lewd behaviour. But I never had to enforce it because the regulars would enforce it themselves or call the cops on people.
The real problems I had to deal with were thots trying to get OF photos who would then whine about old men creeping on them and I should kick them out etc. No ma'am, that guy sets up his hammock at that spot every single day you just chose to do your photoshoot in front of him. I also happen to know for a fact the man is gay. You chose the gay section of the beach to do your shoot.
