After much positive feedback to the /m43/ general I re-thought the whole thing. Why limit to one mount if the defining defining feature is the aspect ratio?
Let's have a /4:3/ general for all the based chads who shoot in 4:3 ratio!
Welcome: Everyone whose system shoots natively in 4:3!
Also welcome: Those who accept the superiority of 4:3 and crop their 3:2 (cringe) images to the 4:3 (based) ratio.
Not welcome: Everyone else.
Topic of the first /4:3/ general ever: Are 5:4 and 6:7 based, too? Or are they just tryhard?
>>4490387 >>4490395 Kek, for a minute there, I misinterpreted this to be an aspect ratio thread. But of course, foolthirders always regress to bemoaning their (lack of) IQ.
>>4490457 this is an aspect ratio thread. all gear faggotry not related to aspect ratio has to go to a /gear/ thread keep on discussing anon. I like 4:3. I also do like 5:4 - 5:4 is very based for printing as most commercially available image frames above baby size are for that aspect ratio and you don't need to crop before printing
>>4490429 yes, 3:2 is way too wide for me. especially for portrait orientation. what do you do with all that empty ceiling space? just crop it to god's chosen ratio!
>>4490481 that's because the default aspect ratio on the iphone is 4:3. your brain has been cooked. just as with the teenagers who associate 28mm with phones. you need therapy
>>4490492 Are you going to spam the same 4 snapshits on instagram as well? I wouldn't be suprised if you posted your boring ass snaps in fgt next. Lmao.
>>4490498 >starts out with a very reasonable kit, z6ii and 50mm f1.8 >comes to /p/ >wants to fit in to (you)maxx >tries doing gay urban photowalk shit to have an endless stream of /rpt/ grade garbage >gets self conscious >tries to solve that with a smaller camera >manages to get a mile away from home without having a panic attack >photos still suck >switches to trolling about sensor sizes for hours >tries to force wife to use a lumix gx9 (garbage camera with shit autofocus btw, she would have probably been better off with a sony) >realizes m43 sucks, buys zf >panic attacks return >buys om5ii for JUST $1500 >$6000 and 6 hours of 4chan per day later and his wife divorces him >now he’s also broke
Literal shit posted on instagram. Disgusting. Another snapshit. You have incredibly poor visualization and control over DoF. It reveals how much of a gearfag you really are.
Why would you buy a brand new micro four thirds camera when you could just buy a used 5D2 which takes better photos for a fraction of the cost? Seems retarded to me.
>"Hello, I'm a shitposter from an unofficial shitpost thread. We're not shitposting here though, teehee!" >"NOOOOO stop shitposting! That's what the gear thread is foooooor!" Fatherless behavior.
>>4490621 why shitposting? anon has an obvious gear related question. this is an aspect ratio related thread. anon should just ask his gear question in the gear thread.
>>4490623 >wink wink nudge nudge >noooo haha how could you I guess the other /m43/ thread hit the bump limit. You should label them better next time, instead of making stealth threads.
>>4490823 It's the synagogue of satan that rules over them (and us) that needs segregation followed by condemnation. The time to separate the wheat from the tares is nigh.
>>4490902 He is correct. Divorce was pushed by jews because it is literally how their religion handles marriage. Their religion also explicitly allows abortion. Now look at where attempts at banning medically unnecessary male infant circumcision go. And who is in charge of organizations insisting something that causes neurological damage and raises the infant mortality rate is actually healthy.
Now look at this guy instead of JUST the pharisees. He was greedy and prideful. And these goeth before a fall. He too denied Christ. Not in his words but in his heart. Jesus would find his camera neuroticism and greed for a perfect camera, his hours coping to convince himself this purchase is the last, pathetic. He had one good camera, what were the other five for?
All problems in society trace back to literally any individual, jew or not, who denies Christ, and does not live as a true Christian, and furthermore makes this everyone elses problem by propagandizing their sins as good if not necessary.
>>4490896 Who are you to complain about people you fit in with?
>>4490820 this looks like the quality from a $150 dslr from 2007 or cheapie aps-c like a canon ef m, but your caption says it came from literally over $2000 of gear
what would jesus think of this, once he found out you used to use something cheaper and better, saw the wealth of cheaper and equally good and often better tools available, and saw your lack of charity, your pride and hubris?
i think if i handed jesus a $100 dslr+kit zoom he would take a better photo and give the camera to a homeless guy
>>4491986 You've discovered the true power of buying useless gear as a coping mechanism for actual improvement. BASED and THAT is the true power of m43.
>>4491995 NTA, I remember when I tried getting into M43 a few years back after trading in a 2010's Canon APS-C. I wouldn't have regretted it if the equipment was even *half* it's cost (taking inflation into account, the prices have more or less gone up proportionally - with even less incentive than ever).
You know why you are a faggot if you shoot mft? My full frame also Olympiss brand camera goes up to 170mm zoom but fits entirely on my pocket
Meanwhile your tiny eenie meenie sensor can't even fit that same focal length lens in your pocket. All the while providing zero bokeh and lower low light capabilities lol
Think about it. The obsession with reach. The obsession with cameras being noticeable. The hyperfocus on the retro toy-like models that would appeal more to children such as every 14 year old girl that uses instagram.
Dear god, taylor swift even has an em10. No wonder predators go for it. >did you know taylor swift has this camera? i have more in my camper -average micro four talmudist
>>4492447 With a fraction of a price you could have bought a FF equivalent lens with higher aperture, sharpness, IQ, less coma, faster autofocus and so on.
>>4492447 >80-300mm f/5.6 equiv. PRO LENS >760g >$1650 vs >EF 70-300 f/4-5.6 Consoomer lens >630g >$400
So... spend 4x the money for worse AF, worse abberations, more weight, more distortion... Why? Can a Turder please actually argue a positive point to buying one of these things?
>>4492450 Mirrorless babbies are too unskilled to use DSLRs and can only accept the newest and best mfturd or the newest canon
Even snoy is too demanding for them and nikon is basically unusable
Someone post the om1 vs z8+400mm prime comparison where the cropped z8 looked exactly like the uncropped om1 with its $7000 zoom lens and the nikon setup was actually heavier
>>4494003 >>4494004 >>4494005 >>4494006 Conclusion: I really like the 4:3 format and am glad, that smartphones also have this sensor ratio. For me 5:4 is also a top contender, but so far, I took better pictures with the 4:3 and 3:2 format. Maybe it is really how the format influences the choice of composition. With 1:1 and 4:3 it is quite easy to make a pleasing composition. I‘d really like to try 7:6 someday…
>>4505346 tripod or long shutter speed, the OM image stabilization works really well
Here's a video of Robin Wong taking very nice looking night time photos, using the same camera model as you, with a 12-40mm F2.8 though. That's on 200 iso though so you can put the ISO a bit higher https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcf8AZod1Zg
I actually just bothered to go out down the street and give it a quick try myself because I haven't actually tried using my OM at night and the results are definitely not bad at all, 200 iso and 1/13 shutter
