For me it's James Ravilious. It's a shame he really only became popular after he died. His ethic of service and humility really shows in the dignity with which he treated his subjects.

2. i'm aware that sarah moon laid the groundwork . i was the one who above posted paolo roversi, a contemporary of sarah moon's who also specialized in long exposure fashion shots. you may notice that the thread is titled 'favorite photographer', not 'progenitor of your favorite photo style'. anyways, i love sarah moon as well. i just scrolled past the tim walker photo first
