the interaction between all his personas and how they both inexplicably somehow cover up the geekdom while it yet seeps into every facet should be studied {not to be replicated but for the safety of humanity so no one else can suffer from the state of this again}

quite salvaged despite the Tone demands and meddling and contract tampering and undermining and..... but seriously Nooj still has the touch and core feeling to get the job done. This Silver Era was finding its feet after the Tana Arc finale at kingdom and all the pieces are in place now to have the continued great wrestling begin to mesh with the new elite story that takes off from the cup tourney.

I'll admit I haven't seen much but nothing has compelled me. In NJPW there was Mistico vs Hiromu in the past couple years at a show and I thought it was fucking dreadful and like Mistico was mostly at fault. I did like the CMLL guys a couple WTLs ago, Soberano Jr. and Atlantis Jr. were a cool, skilled team (I heard Soberano went heel like immediately after and changed his look or something) and I liked Zandokan Jr.'s look and energy. But again nothing compelled me to explore more.

>Rocky Romero on the AEW/NJPW/CMLL partnership, says it’s essential when they’re going against WWE:
>“What’s cool about it is AEW, especially Tony Khan, has so much respect and love for New Japan and New Japan has always been supportive of AEW. I think it’s a partnership that really works and obviously it’s an essential partnership when you’re going against someone who has such a huge market share in WWE. So, I think it’s very strategic and now that we’ve thrown CMLL into the mix, these 3 big promotions really working fluidly together and working on storylines that cross all 3 promotions and having talent go from each company and champions.
>I think the people who make out the most in this are fans because the fans get to see these dream matches and these dream situations. I think the fans are the ones who are winning the most on this."

A strange feud has broken out between Kenoh and Yano.
Here’s the timeline:
>February 10
An article is published in Weekly Pro-Wrestling (ShuPro) in which Tsuji says things like, “I’ve put my contract renewal on hold and am currently working NJPW shows as a freelancer,” and “The company’s upper management should think about what kind of product wrestlers actually are.”
Kenoh uploads a video to YouTube quoting that ShuPro article. He criticizes Tsuji, saying, “For the champion to make comments like this in a magazine that comes out the day before a title match will only make NJPW fans anxious,” and “If you have complaints about the company, don’t just casually mention them in a magazine article — make it a proper, dramatic angle.”
>February 11
Right before NJPW’s Osaka show, Tsuji posts on X that he has signed a contract with NJPW, adding, “In this social media information age, don’t forget to find out the true nature of things for yourself.”
After winning the main event, Tsuji says in the ring, “Hey, Bushiroad! We wrestlers aren’t trading cards!” (Bushiroad is NJPW’s parent company and is heavily involved in character businesses like CCGs/TCGs.)
Bushiroad President Kidani posts on X, apologizing to card game fans:
“At today’s NJPW Osaka event, a wrestler used the term ‘card game’ as a negative example. Some of you may have felt uncomfortable, and for that we apologize.”
Yano goes live on his own YouTube channel. While clearly drunk, he criticizes Kenoh, calling him “a YouTuber who farms views with gossip” and saying, “Come say that to my face.”
>February 13
Kenoh does a live YouTube stream unboxing newly released Bushiroad trading cards. It’s obviously poking fun at Tsuji’s comment, but he deliberately avoids directly mentioning it during the stream.
>February 14
Kidani replies to Kenoh on X: “Thank you for your purchase.”
>>
>February 18
Backstage at NJPW’s Yoyogi show, Tsuji clarifies that his Osaka comment was simply meant to convey, “Let’s work hard together from here on.” He then shakes hands with President Tanahashi.
>February 20
Kidani quotes an old ShuPro article on X and posts, “Nostalgic. Naito connected everything back to pro wrestling. That’s why I was able to go along with it.”
>February 26
Kenoh appears on YouTube wearing a black suit and apologizes. However, he does not apologize to Yano or NJPW. Instead, he apologizes to his channel’s fans for having allowed Yano and others to label the Kenoh Channel as “gossip YouTubers” (yes, it’s complicated).
All of this has sparked heated discussion among both NOAH and NJPW fans.
There are almost no voices criticizing Kenoh.
As for Yano, many fans are criticizing him for complaining without having read the ShuPro article or watched Kenoh’s video. The archive of his livestream from two weeks ago has been flooded with critical comments from both NOAH and NJPW fans.
Regarding Tsuji, some fans express disappointment that he had a real chance to position himself as an anti-establishment hero, but ultimately let it fizzle out ambiguously.
There are also complaints from NJPW fans that Kenoh is the one doing everything that NJPW’s own wrestlers should have been doing in the first place.
The question now is whether this feud can be properly translated into something meaningful in the ring.
Some people are calling for a Kenoh vs. Yano match to settle things, but personally, I don’t think that would make for a particularly interesting match…

>Kenoh was wrong for gossiping just for clickbait
He wasn't gossiping, he was reporting a interview that Tsuji had done and was criticizing his statement (and i think Tsuji should had just renewed his contract in silence without saying anything). If he was gossipping also Shurpro was gossipping since they were the one who published that interview.
Anyway this just prove that you can work in the top company and have the best environment set for you but still can't sell yourself to your own public
He's not acting like a ace, and as much as can dislike Kenoh, he was right about that.

giving takeshita something is not necessarily a mistake but then making him some weird tweener that waffles between face/heel and ends up getting like 0 fan support was terrible
and they do need to give the other young guys more
both Oiwa and Uemura should be carrying belts
>>
>>
>>19974407
in constructively disagreeing, id flat out say nah, matchwise most of the main players are right with him or rise up when called, and others are sitting with the potential stored only that we havent personally viewed yet on a broadcast but it is still there in waiting.
so the top of the card could be relatively equal and should be booked competitively (not saying anything groundbreaking but this would require unmeddled booking).
as a matter of fact where Takesh does differ from his homebound rivals ends up offset balancing even with their faults leaving them again in similar standing. the dojo boys have fleshed out gimmicks and character work but are missing the freak physicality and satisfied angles. on the flip takeshita is the height athlete placed to mog everyone in the stories (that comes off undeservedly due to the promotions outside presentation) but is slightly free of a bombastic personality (that he can have but isnt implemented yet in the big leagues) and lacks as meaningful interactions due to in part poached bouncing around

LIJ EVIL doesn't even take up 50% of the highlights and they skipped like a whole year from getting caged to the SANADA title feud lol
2 notes I have from this confirmation that SANADA's rut at the start of 2020 was just a red herring and EVIL was always the one to turn even before COVID hit. Also got context to EVIL breaking Milano's toy, it was a gift </3
And regardless of size, these pre-COVID crowds feel so much more into what's happening than they do for anything else now and you can even say the same about pre-2015 crowds. Gonna take years of solid booking before you get a pop like EVIL pinning Okada in the G1 again
>>
>>
>>
>>19975150
I don't really care outside of the fact that they have absolutely nothing for him to do so they just give him yet another belt, and of course him getting the G1 and 3 belts this quickly while multiple Jrs and Heavies float around with minimal accomplishments or none at all

Honestly totally sold on Tsuji at this point, his 2026 is easy, make him beat all the former champions and put AEW guys in Boston Crabs until WK. The main focus has got to be making one of the other younger guys a credible rival for him to fight there, don't really care who but they need to pick someone and get the ball rolling right now.

Rocky Romero believes contract structure in wrestling needs to evolve, explaining that while it’s tradition in Japan to renew deals at the same time each year, he’s long supported stability through longer agreements. He said, “I’ve always been an advocate to sign people to multi-year deals,” adding that having so many contracts expire right after Wrestle Kingdom can be disruptive: “To come out of that and then have a whole completely new roster or changes in the roster, I think it’s just too much at once and it’s not good for the fan base.” Romero suggested staggered deals like “a year and three months, a year and six months” to give promotions more flexibility.
He also praised former Harold Meij for locking in top talent long-term, noting, “The first thing he did was sign Okada to like a five year contract.” While not everyone operates on the same timeline, Romero said there’s been a conscious effort to spread contracts out. When discussing dual deals, he referenced The Young Bucks and their old Ring of Honor contracts, explaining they had carve-outs to work for New Japan Pro-Wrestling. “It wasn’t exactly a dual contract, but a lot of people would have carve outs… to wrestle for New Japan x amount of times per year.” Now, he says, “I think now is the era of the dual contract or, for some people, triple contracts.”
Romero believes these partnerships are necessary in today’s landscape, especially with WWE looming large. “I think it makes sense for all the partners who are doing business regularly… We’ve kind of all, on the other side, have unionized together a bit.” He pointed to AEW talent appearing across promotions as proof of that collaboration.

Romero also said Kazuchika Okada signing with AEW ensured he could face Hiroshi Tanahashi in his final match, stating, “I think Okada proved that he was the guy that should have been the guy in Tanahashi’s final match… It was an incredible night.” He added that moment likely wouldn’t have happened if Okada had gone elsewhere, saying, “I’m glad that he ended up signing with AEW.”

Disappointing cuz I expected Ishii to get a shock win or 2 starting with Narita. Hopefully that's still the plan and we get a Kojima NEVER match out of it.
But also why the fuck wasn't Kojima in the tournament already?

>Yuya is doing great as a babyface during last G1
>Loses to fucking Finlay, doesn't even make it past his block and then is stuck in a team with Shota Boomino
>Wolf makes dimes debut
>Loses to lowcard heel shitters with no heat
What's with NJPW and making all of their young guys lose momentum ? Why the constant humiliation ritual ? What's the point ?
