He's right. All the big stars in wrestling had very limited in-ring skill. Even Austin only became a big star after his neck exploded and had to limit his move set.

whats wit these boomers repeating the same slop

The Sandman put it best:

>Being over is more important than being good. Being good is bullshit.

Has anyone checked on Meltzer, and Dax as well?
>>
>>19992586
Yeah, no shit.
>>
>>19992586
He's right and even my good friends on reddit agree with this take.
>>
>>19992586
yeah it's like tony hawk's 900, 8 year old japanese kids do them on competitions every week, it's watching a guy struggle and eventually do it that gets millions of people watching(and sponsors )

Anything that makes the crowd react and want more is what matters. Usually that's charisma or some way to compel audiences to care but some wrestlers can do it with just ring skills. Cesaro couldn't talk worth a damn but he was a very solid upper midcard act on his ability alone
>>
>>19992586
No shit, this isn't some crazy take, moves is the easy part. Anyone can learn to do moves, anyone can have an ospreay match, it's just most people aren't dumb enough to bother. That's just a lot more effort for little return of fan investment.
>>
>>19992586
Yet modern wrestlers only care what Dave says, for those yummy 5 starsrinos

Buddy :)

Raven said it best, I think it was Raven anyway. He'd rather do 10 moves perfectly than 100 moves decently. The reason is that a good worker can make those 10 moves matter, add to their character.

>>19992586
Everybody knows this except kike meltzer and his trannies

>BAAA-BUT MUH FIVE STAR HEATLESS BANGERINOSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!

Suck it Cripple!

No shit, Jericho, while he is a beast in the ring, got over by being an extremely charismatic guy. As a general rule of thumb, whatever Jericho says (although he is very full of himself) is true 99% of the time. Dave has poisoned the minds of trannies, making them think that being able to do flips automatically makes you good. Funny enough, the only AEW wrestler anyone talks about is Toni Storm and she is the only one who was running a gimmick in AEW.

He's right. This is why I never get why people use "he can't do moves/he's slow" as an attack to people like Roman or Punk. Sure neither do many moves and are washed in terms of athleticism, but they have a charisma that isn't taught in wrestling schools. Same with Jericho. He can be a blob but he gets everything over.
>>
>>19992786
Workhorse Roman was based though.
>>
>>19992599
Of course he's right. You just know exactly which crowd isn't going to like to hear this though
>>
>>19992786
I give Roman a lot of shit for his promos, acting, facials but his ring work has always been good.

Jeribloat doesn't know shit!

All this webm shows me is the faggots that go to AEW shows clap like seals for choreographed gymnastics.

their matches aren't interesting to watch. guys who are more athletic and work harder have more enjoyable matches.
really don't know what's difficult to understand about this

how people get over will always vary wildly. some in ring shitters get by on charisma, other guys get over by having great matches, other guys get over by doing stunts. doesn't matter as long as YOU'RE OVER
>>
>>19992586
Jericho's totally right. And now smarks will seethe at him for pointing out obvious reality.

Right on schedule

No, in same cases the crowd is retarded and catering to them will kill your promotion. If your wrestling airs on TV then you need to concern yourself mainly with entertaining the hundreds of thousands of people at home, not the low thousands of people in the audience.

>their matches aren't interesting to watch. guys who are more athletic and work harder have more enjoyable matches.
Nobody's ever gotten over just by having "great matches". Even guys who are thought of as being "great match guys" actually got over because they also had a significant amount of charisma and personality.
>>
>>19995205
Thats true too although for the most part there is correlation. It's still good to habe your own instinct of what people at home will like. Especially in recent years now that it seems crowds will pop for anything
>>
>>19994958
I don't agree. Most of my favorite matches have the rock in them. Smarks say this dude sucks but he keeps me entertained. When i see flips i just think wow that looked fake and pointless
>>
Now if most of these zero workrate shitters can have a personality, a gimmick, or charisma
>>
>>19992586
He is of course right but to add to that most TV matches only need to be 5 minutes long anyways and main event or PLE/PPV matches only need to be 10-12 minutes long to tell the story they need to tell. The problem is they drag out matches to kill time on TV because it is easier than actually writing/producing entertaining segments.
>>
>>19992586
based
>>
>>19995358
nobody ever thought the rock sucked. nobody who watches more than WWE ever thought he was anywhere near one of the best in the world either. he's a mid wrestler who got over with charisma, which makes him a perfect fit for WWE.
>>19995287
>Nobody's ever gotten over just by having "great matches".
too stupid to respond to but bryan himself said he got over in WWE by having great matches for just one modern example lmao.
