With the Tournament of Power brought to a close, the Seventh Universe has emerged triumphant once more. Led by the Saiyan warriors, the Seventh's victory was secured. And with the wish on the Super Dragon Balls used to restore the other universes that were eliminated and erased, the final hidden trial was passed, and all eight of the universes up for elimination were allowed to remain. Yet, even with this victory, peace doesn't last in the Seventh Universe for long. As old hatreds rise and long-buried grudges resurface, will you have what it takes to keep everything you've worked the last 28 years of your life to build? Or will those who seek your end ultimately triumph? That all depends on you, and your choices.
You the players will (most often) control Karn. A Saiyan man who has grown from his lowly beginnings as a mid-tier Saiyan Brawler with a sub-3000 powerlevel in Age 733 to become not only the strongest Saiyan of his time at AGE 759, but also personal friend to the former emperor Lord Freeza, father to over a dozen powerful and unique children, a mentor and teacher to his fellow Saiyans, and the indisputable winner of the Tournament of Power. Wielder of the Berserker Soul, and the powerful Stand Divine Dragon Force, you're fully equipped to handle any threat that comes your way. But what will you do when the threats aren't always physical, when you can't simply punch all your problems away?

Previously on Saiyan Conqueror Quest:
After a day of revelations, Arctus then telepathically called Karn informing him he'd finally gotten all the data inside the Machine Mutant Dr. Myuu's head. Only to be ambushed by other time travelers, Karn, Future Chaya and Ace battling a Saiyan radiating a dark, sinister power. His aura infected Future Chaya, Ace keeping her occupied as Karn fought the mysterious Cumber. Defeating him, then coming face to face with the leader of that Saiyan, the man Hearts. Who declared his intent to destroy all the gods before leaving. Returning to Future Chaya, sending her and Ace to Towa to discover why the Time Patrol didn't intervene before reaching out to Freeza and Kars. As aspiring deities, Karn felt they should know what is happening as well before focusing on his wife's energy, returning home. And as we rejoin Karn, your Instant Transmission teleport has brought you back home. Finding yourself in your bedroom, your wife sitting on the bed. Her knees pulled up to her chest, chin resting on them as she seems lost in thought.
“Meloka? You okay hun?” you ask, immediately worried for your wife. Having never seen her looking that dejected. “What happened?”
But she doesn't immediately answer, looking up and meeting your gaze. Seeing the conflict in her eyes, the doubt and worry there. And immediately recognize that your wife's not doing great. So you sit down beside her, wrapping your arm around her shoulders. Hugging her to your right side, comforting her.
“I...” she starts, voice trailing off. She then suddenly looks up to you, her expression conflicted. “Karn. What do I... How... If you had to describe me in one word, what would it be?”
“Huh?” you reply, confused. Unsure what she's getting at. “One word? Just one?”
“Yes. If you had to describe me with only a single word, what would it be?” she asks you, expression changing slightly. Looking strangely vulnerable, tinier than usual. As if there's a lot riding on this to her.
Well? How do you answer her?

“Hmmmm. If I had to sum you up with only one word...” you mutter, looking down at your wife in your arms. Many words come to mind, but they're all incomplete. Not encapsulating her in her entirety. Until one comes to the forefront, one that matches perfectly. “Devoted.”
“Huh?” she asks, blinking once as she looks up at you. “Devoted?”
“Devoted.” you reply, nodding. It sounding more and more fitting each time it's said. “Your entire life has been about devotion. You joined up with the fighting because of your devotion to me. Joined my team, had my children, and we even got married. You've been devoted to me for most of your life.”
“Devoted, huh? Devotion.” she says, looking thoughtfully as she looks at you, then down at her hands. “Devotion. I like it.”
“So, what is all this about?” you ask her, tone curious. “What's going on, Mel?”
“I... Talked with Chaya, earlier. About why I've fallen so far behind.” she says, you raising a brow in confusion.
“Fallen behind? What do you mean?” you ask her, looking at your wife in confusion. But her gaze hardens as she looks back to you.
“Against Jiren, I was giving it everything I had. But you were holding back, so we could fight together.” she answers, her tone not exactly accusatory. “Chaya was stronger against him, on Namek Broly's new power was stronger, Caulifla's godly powers have begun to surpass my own now too. Even Chilli, when he became that Death God during the tournament far surpassed me. So, when I talked to Chaya, she said the next step to becoming a stronger deity was becoming a goddess of SOMETHING.”
“And that's why you wanted me to describe you in one word? So you could decide what you wanted to be a goddess of?” you ask her, your wife nodding.
“Yeah. If I figured out what I am, then I can be strong. Strong enough to not be left on the sidelines ever again, and instead out there helping you. Fighting by your side, where I should be.” she replies, the yearning obvious in her voice. “Where I belong.”
How do you reply?
>Tell her you think she'd make a great goddess of devotion, or goddess of whatever she decides she wants to be
>Advise your wife to explore her options before deciding on a singular path, to talk with others. There's always more than one path to power, and before she decides her fate she should know all of her options
>Let Meloka know that, whatever she decides to do to further her power, you'll support her and back her up. And remind her that while she's only used one of her years inside the Time Chamber, you and Chaya have both used up both of yours. That she still has another year of training she could use whenever to grow stronger as well with whoever she chooses to go in with

Thing of it is, Divine Ki and its associated transformations can be used in tandem with many other techniques and forms, pic related is one such example.
Now might be the time for Meloka to truly min-max into an even more disgusting build based on everything she's seen thus far.

Advise your wife to explore her options before deciding on a singular path, to talk with others. There's always more than one path to power, and before she decides her fate she should know all of her options wins it. Interesting choice, let's see how she takes this advice. “Well, following how Chaya got strong is certainly one way to do it. But is it the way you want to go?” you ask, Meloka looking up to you in sudden confusion.
“What do you mean?” she asks, you laying yourself back on the bed. Carrying her back with you.
“Think about it. If you follow Chaya's steps, you might catch her. But while you're playing catch up to the powers she's already unlocked, you'll always be behind.” you reply, feeling your wife's sudden, intense focus. “Before you decide to chase power the same way she did, maybe you should explore your options first.”
“My options?” she asks, brows furrowing. “What do you mean?”
“You could follow Chaya's path. Or, find other paths that are out there.” you tell her gently. “You could combine the power of your god aura with Primal, mixing the two powers like Broly's now done with Primal and the Berserker power. Or, where you and Chaya discovered that power beyond Blue together, you could push it even further beyond to a new level. Like you did before with the Super Saiyan, pushing it to Super Saiyan 3 before anyone else. Maybe find a bluer version of that power, or push it even further past that?”
“Even further...” she mutters, not looking at you but at her hands now.
“Your path to power is your own, Meloka. But before you just pick the first option you find, maybe you should figure out all the different choices you have, then decide?” you say, sliding back along the bed to rest your head on the pillow, flicking the light switch off with a telekinetic nudge. “If you only have one option, is it really a choice?”
“You're right.” she replies, snuggling into your side, laying her head on your chest as she takes a deep breath of you. Sighing out, her body losing the tension from earlier as she relaxed. “Thanks, Karn.”
“Of course. Sleep well hun.” you answer, kissing her softly on the forehead as you begin drifting off to sleep. Your sleep is deep and restful, hours passing unnoticed until you begin to rise from your sleep. Eyes opening, coming back to yourself as you feel your wife resting against you. However, Towa's nowhere to be seen. Only the two of you are in the bed, Towa's side remaining untouched. But before you can think on it further, another thought comes to mind: you have six days. Six days to prepare before your battle with Granolah. Which leaves one question:

>Sneak up and head to the gravity chamber, get your morning started with an intense workout that pushes your limits
>Sneak out of bed and head to Towa's Lab, see if she's up and what kept her busy all night
>Wake Meloka and have her join you for your morning workout, pushing each other further than you would alone

As you lay there, the thoughts of Granolah, of the battle ahead fill your mind. So, carefully you slip out of bed, not disturbing your wife's slumber as you head straight to the gravity chamber. The halls of your ship are empty this morning, no one up and moving yet as you reach the door. Entering the chamber, going straight to the machine. Powering it up and cranking the gravity back as high as it will go from down where Caulifla and Lottus had set it the night before. You feel the enhanced weight settlign down on your shoulders as you lay down, hands behind your head as you begin working out. One thousand sit ups, one thousand push ups, and one thousand pull ups on the vertical bar later and your warm up is complete, your body getting a good sweat going before you start moving into more difficult exercises.
And for the next hour you continue pushing yourself further and further, giving it everything you've got. Pushing your body to its limits as you give it your all, then finishing the final set you collapse. Laying flat on your back, gasping for air as your muscles scream from the strain of your workout. You lay for a few minutes, recovering before you finally sit up, then push yourself to your feet. Walking over to the controls, turning the chamber off. The weight fading away, you taking a deep, full breath and sighing out before turning to the door. Opening it, only to see the girl you'd rescued from the Abyss waiting for you.
“Haathe?” you ask, blinking once in surprise. “Is everything okay?”
“My Lord Karn. Thou art needed.” she says, her glowing green eyes worried. “Guardian Raven needs thy aid.”
And without replying your right hand IMMEDIATELY goes to your forehead, reaching out to her energy. Finding her after a few moments deep underneath the surface of New Salda, Haathe reaching out and grabbing your arm right as you teleport. Leaving your ship behind, appearing by the Guardian's ki. Appearing into absolute, complete darkness.

“Raven?” you ask into the void, clenching your fists by your sides and ascending. Emerald light exploding from you as your aura illuminates the darkness around you. And you find the Guardian down on the ground, a ring of emerald runes lighting up in a circle around her as well. “What the hell? What happened?”
“Careful, my lord.” Haathe says as Raven rises and turns, and you IMMEDIATELY see the problem. Raven's been completely overcome with the Berserker Soul as well, eyes blazing with emerald power. “Raven art possessed by thine Berserker Soul's rage.”
“HRRRAAAAA!!” she roars, fists blazing with emerald fire as she rises, swinging her energy-clad fists into the invisible barrier separating you both from her. The cylinder of emerald energy, the magical circle flaring with each strike. “GRRRAAAA!! GYAAAH! HYAAAH!!”
But what do you do? What CAN you do?
>Tell Haathe to end the circle and let her face you, to let her burn her rage out attacking you
>Use the Berserker Soul to try and control the rage Haathe infected Raven with, to try and draw it out of her back into yourself
>Telepathically call Chilli, explain what's going on and see if he can come help Raven out
>Ask Haathe to explain everything, what's going on and how her, your power's somehow infected the Guardian
>Reach out to New Salda and take on your Champion power, see if you can use the planet's aid to help free the Guardian from your power's rage

“My lord, you must aid her.” Haathe says, to which you nod. Watching her swing mindlessly against the barrier Haathe created.
“Yeah. I'll do what I can.” you reply, drawing upon the Berserker Soul within you, then reaching out. Feeling that same power coursing through Raven's frame, the Berserker energy Haathe somehow infected Raven with resonating as you power up.
“GRRRRRR! HRRRAAAAAAA!!” Raven bellows as even her magical energy is tainted by the Berserker Soul's power. Drawing her hands back and thrusting both forward, firing a beam of emerald energy into the barrier's shield.
“Raven, that's ENOUGH!” you shout, reaching out to her. Reaching out to the power raging within her, trying to command it as you had before with your daughter. “ENOUGH!”
“GRRRAAAAA! GYAAAAH!” she snarls, then starts swinging her fists again. Your efforts not making an impact. Which only causes you to grit your teeth, focusing harder as your brows furrow.
“Tch! I! SAID! ENOUGH!” you roar, emerald aura blazing higher, fiercer up around you as you focus. Reaching out through the Berserker Soul to the energy raging within Raven. Bringing the full weight of your own soul down upon the Berserk energy within her, her rage like a candle's flame before the raging inferno of the Berserker Soul's full, unrestrained fury. Then, letting the Berserker Soul take control, you jerk your arm back from her in a tearing motion, a stream of emerald energy bleeding out from Raven's eyes towards you hand. The energy swirling as it lands there, forming a small ball of emerald fire in your hand. And as the last of the energy is drawn from Raven, she collapses to her hands and knees with an exhausted-sounding sigh. “Raven, you alright?”
“I am... Okay.” she answers between panting breaths, clearly exhausted. “Sorry for-! Bothering you with this. Haathe and I- We were training.”
“Training?” you ask, still holding that handful of energy, looking back and forth between them. “Training what?”
“The fault is mine, my lord.” Haathe says, kneeling before you. But before she can continue, Raven interrupts. Rising up to her feet, dispelling the magical circle inscribed around her with a wave of her hand and whisper of power. Stepping through, her expression calm and composed.

“Due to your Berserker Soul being what empowers Haathe, her magic carries its essence.” she says, gesturing to the fiery ball held in your hand. “Her magic, when used offensively, can induce the same rage in those her magic is used against as the Berserker Soul itself does upon those of you who wield it. And to those who do not have experience controlling that rage...”
“It takes you over.” you finish for her, Raven nodding. You realizing just how dangerous Haathe's power could be.
“Correct. And while most useful against those who use magic, rendering them unable to cast their spells through the blinding rage, driving foes into a furious rage is quite the ability.” she continues, speaking easily on it. “I had allowed myself to take on more of it than I could control, and it conquered me for a time. Thank you, for taking control of it.”
“Of course.” you reply, turning your gaze to the ball of emerald fire in your hands. The raw essence of the Berserker Soul you'd given Haathe, to replace the Abyssal soul she was born with to save her life and let Aku reach his full power, now feels even more meaningful. Her power is literally YOUR power, she draws her strength from your own energy. And as you turn to her, you then level your hand at her. Returning the power back to her, Haathe reaching up instinctively before even looking up to see what you're doing. Catching that energy and bringing it to her chest, taking a deep breath and sighing out. Rising up to her feet, eyes blazing with emerald energy.
“Thank you, my lord. I couldst not undo mine error alone.” Haathe tells you, her tone remorseful as she bows. “More care shall be taken, so this shan't happen again.”
“Good. I hope it doesn't. But, if it does, just reach out to me and I'll do what I can.” you tell her, then with the immediate issue solved, look around. “So, where are we anyways?”
“Deep in the depths of the M'lurnian Ruins, far below the sea's bottom.” Raven answers. “A place close to the planet's heart, where outside influence is all but impossible.”
And, as if on cue, right as Raven says this:

“Of course.” you say with a sigh, raising your right hand to your forehead. “I'll handle this.”
“Be careful, Karn. The spirits coming to these ruins have been... Stronger, as of late.” your world's Guardian Raven warns you as you focus, finding that unfamiliar ki dozens of yards above the three of you but nowhere near the surface. “Be on guard.”
“Good hunting, my lord.” Haathe says, you nodding to her then teleport away. Appearing in a different section of the ruins further above, appearing behind the familiar blood-red glow of an invading phantom from across time. And you see a familiar skull-armored figure, wielding the familiar sword of the Darkwraiths in its right hand.
“You don't have to die here, you can lea- WOAH!” you say, but IMMEDIATELY the being turns, swinging their sword horizontally at your chest. You're caught off-guard by the explosive speed, the blade flashing and nearly splitting your middle open as you leap back. The tip whistles through the air as you narrowly dodge it, landing on your feet and sliding back to a stop. “Tch!”
But the invader wastes no time, immediately rushing forward. Sprinting at you, closing in and swinging again. The same horizontal left-to-right slash, but this time you're ready. Activating your Energy Body and stepping into the attack, ready to block the hit with your armor and send this bastard flying. Only for your instincts to suddenly scream at you to leap back, once more dodging the blade. Sliding back once again, your back hitting a solid stone wall that stops you. But your assailant doesn't relent, charging forward like someone possessed. Sprinting right for you and trying the same attack for a third time. Dropping your Energy Body, you instead create a Ki Blade, meeting the attack edge-to-edge. Stopping the blade short, and at the point of contact, that's where you see it: flames.
But not the fire you're used to, this flame is dark. Abyssal darkness, shaped like fire. And it begins to cut THROUGH your Ki Blade, the dark energy around that sword a serious threat. One that would have carved straight through your Energy Body as well, just as easily as it's cutting your blade. But, with the attacker's blade occupied you raise your left knee up and front kick the skeletal warrior square in the rib-cage armor, sending them flying back. Launching the assailant a dozen yards back before they crash to the ground, landing in a roll before sliding up to their feet as well. Suddenly holding a wooden staff in their left hand, sword still held in their right as they raise it. There's a surge of magic as suddenly a ball of dark magic is launched at you, the energy the size of the hallway itself. And it's fast, before you can activate your Energy Body again that dark energy slams into you.
cont
>>
>>6377633
The Abyssal magic burns your flesh on contact, searing your soul as you clench your teeth against the agony of the Dark. But you've endured worse, far more debilitating pain in your training sessions with your half-demon daughter Milha's magical agony. Clenching your fists, and with a roar blaze your aura up, firing off an Explosive Wave to repel the Dark.
“HRRRAAAAAA!!” you roar, your energy blasting away the Dark magic. And the invader as well, who'd rushed close while you were consumed by that darkness. Your Explosive Wave blasting them back, sending them sliding a half-dozen yards back before stopping. The staff once more gone, instead raising their left hand up, distorting space between you and it. That same Dark Hand technique you've seen before, the one Caulifla explained to you when you'd asked her about that energy. Which leaves one question:
What now? How do you fight this Abyssal threat?
>Rush and attack, take them down before they can use that sword again or fire any more dark magics
>Activate your Energy Body and defend, find your opening to counter attack
>Unleash your ranged attacks, take them down with your ki
>Tap into your hate and unleash your lightning
>Instant Transmission behind them and try to take them out from behind before they realize you're there

“Alright, that's it. I've had enough of you!” you snarl, emerald aura blazing as you dig deep. Feeling your rage swell, your hatred burn as you raise your left hand towards the distorted space where the Darkwraith's energy is shielding it. “Go to hell!”
And with a snarl you unleash your hate, your fury bursting forth as dozens of crackling bolts of lightning. Arcing through the air between you, cutting right through the distortion of its shield and striking the skeletal knight directly. Who screams in pain, you realizing that it's a woman and not a man you're shocking. But that doesn't matter, they came to YOUR home, threatened YOUR people, and you're going to destroy them, whoever they are!
“HRRRAAAAA!!” you roar, pouring even more power into the attack as you step forward. Closing the distance, raising your other hand and unleashing your lightning from both now. The storm of lightning ricocheting off the stone walls, all the bolts finding their way to your target. Whose shield has dropped, body jerking about uncontrollably from the lightning you send coursing through their body. Then, as your fingertips begin to smoke and char, you end the attack with a hiss of pain. Wincing as, once your attack stops you can feel every big of the damage you'd done to your blackened fingertips. “Tssss!”
The Darkwraith collapses like a marionette with its strings cut the instant your attack ends, body smoking as she lay there. Yet, surprisingly, her crimson energy-clad body doesn't dissolve into mist and vanish, like the others have before her. Instead, to your shock, she begins to RISE! Seems this fight isn't over yet.

And that's it for tonight, everyone enjoying the new episode so far? What do you think about Haathe's magic, and the effects it has on its targets? Are you already devising ways to utilize this power, and how it could be leveraged against threats known and unknown? What path to power do you think Meloka will end up choosing, and do you believe in her that it'll work out in her favor? And with six days until the battle with Granolah, will you be ready? Or will more threats arise that'll make Granolah look like nothing more than a child throwing a tantrum? This and possibly more when Saiyan Conqueror Quest continues in 12 hours!

>And that's it for tonight, everyone enjoying the new episode so far?
We consoled wifey, got to chat with our wards, and are currently smiting an intruder on our planet. What's not to like?
>What do you think about Haathe's magic, and the effects it has on its targets?
I think she'd be absolutely devastating against large groups. She could probably get a whole army to fight each other if she played her cards right. It's like the inverse of Battle Meditation.
>Are you already devising ways to utilize this power, and how it could be leveraged against threats known and unknown?
Beyond making people go ballistic and wearing them out, maybe we can use it to Disable divine opponents? We know our energy can purge Divine Ki like what happened with Doom back in the ToP, so it might be worth trying to refine that sorta thing and make it more efficient.

I have no clue, but I do know that she'll make it work. She has to, or at least she feels like she does.

Always ready.

True enough.
Yes. The patrons already got to see her power against another soecerer in kombat, and how quickly it can turn tides of battle. Her unique approach with the Berserker Soul is quite something.
I won't say it's impossible.
Yes she does. She'll do what it takes to reach your level, and not get left behind again.

“Kuuh! Huff!” the Darkwraith wheezes, forcing herself to her feet as you stand there, shocked. Stunned that she's alive, much less back on her feet. Her sword left on the ground where she'd dropped it the moment your attack stopped, instead conjuring more Dark energy. But this is different, you can SENSE this! Whatever this being's conjuring, it's ALIVE! And you immediately go on the defensive, only for the woman to suddenly crush it in her hand! You immediately feel her power surging, restoring herself to how she was at the start of the battle! Whatever that tiny, dark spirit was, she'd just sacrificed it to fuel her own power, to stay in this fight longer. Whoever this Darkwraith is, she's more a monster than you'd imagined.
“You... You killed it.” you say, the Darkwraith turning its head slightly before grabbing what look like skeletal fists from behind her back, sliding her own hands into the bound bones. Slamming her fists together before sprinting straight at you. Seems she's going to try and fight you hand-to-hand now, ignoring her sword entirely.
But what do you do?
>Rush in and attack, take her down quickly
>Rush in and take that new defensive stance, try and unleash that weaving technique you learned from observing Karn Jr's fight with his friend on her
>Activate your Energy Body and defend, see what she's got and counter her
>This could be a good chance to practice, step forward and unleash the Infinite Arm Fist technique against her. See how long she can withstand that barrage of punches
>Unleash your lightning again, now that her defenses are down see how much more damage the attack does this time
>Grab her with telekinesis, hold her still as you make an Energy Javelin and launch it right into her chest. End this with a single attack

It's been a minute since we've really put some effort into this technique. Might not be a bad idea to stress test it now before the big match with Granolah.

“Oh,you wanna fight, huh? Alright, let's do this!” you say, charging energy into your fists as you weave them into a figure eight before you, leaving afterimages of your arms behind. The foe sprints in, then leaps at you with a flying right side kick. Which you meet with a left jab, stopping her momentum. But as she lands she drops into a right spinning reverse sweep that you lightly hop over. Just lifting your legs over the blow as she spins back up to her feet, then fires a right straight at your guts. Which you block with your left forearm, while the mostly-intangible left you'd fired earlier to stop her flying kick fires again, slamming square into her skeletal helmet. Snapping her head back and following the phantom left up with a right straight again to the head, then a left hook to the body. “Is that all you've got?”
You don't relent in your offense, piling more and more blows on. Each blow landing four consecutive times, quickly multiplying your attacks dozens of times over. For every punch you throw, five more phantom fists strike the Darkwraith. Quickly breaking down her defenses, pummeling her repeatedly. Knocking her back and back until you've pushed her back up against a wall, and begin punching her THROUGH it! The old stone giving way under the force of repeated strikes, the bone of her armor cracking and crumbling. Her helmet shatters, revealing a dark-haired, pale-skinned woman's face beneath with glowing red eyes that match the faintly glowing red aura around her body.
But you don't stop, don't relent, and continue pummeling the would-be invader. Landing hundreds of blows a second until her phantom visage begins to dissolve under the relentless attack, beating her until her entire body dissolves into motes of light, her energy vanishing as if it never were. And just like that, it's over. Leaving you standing there, phantom limbs finishing out their pre-programmed attack patterns as they fade away as well. Leaving you standing there, panting in the dark of the M'lurnian Ruins tunnels. Illuminated only by your emerald aura's glow, the dark surrounding you.

And as you turn from the tunnel you'd begun making with her body, noticing the light of your aura glints off something on the ground. Which is the fighter's abandoned sword, laying there on the ground. Walking over, you reach down, picking the weapon up by its handle. Examining the blade, no hint of the earlier Dark fires that had cut away at your energy left. So, you hold the sword in your hand, testing its weight with a few experimental swings. The blade is heavy, meant for cleaving through flesh and armor, but it feels solid. So, you decide to keep the weapon for now as you decide what to do now.
Well? What do you do?

“Hmmm. Well, I'm already down here. May as well take a look around.” you mutter to yourself, looking up and down the hallway. Finding a side path you hadn't noticed before, while focused on the battle, so you make your way to it. Turning down the path, your aura bathing the stone hall in shades of green as you walk. Footsteps echoing as you walk. These tunnels are deep, deeper than most you've explored so far. Their surfaces worn smooth over countless years, covered in ancient dust untouched for centuries. Each step kicks up a small puff of dust, disturbing these untouched halls. Which is how you know you're somewhere undiscovered, where there could be something special yet-undiscovered.
With that in mind you move carefully, testing each wall with a hand. Rapping your knuckles at regular intervals on the walls, checking to make sure they're all solid. A few crack when you rap your knuckles against them, but none vanish to reveal hidden paths. For nearly ten minutes you wander aimlessly through the tunnel network, until the hallway you're in widens out into a larger room. Where there's a raised dais in the middle, with three steps up the front up to the raised ledge. And a rectangular, metal chest sitting open, a faint white light emanating from within. Curious, you walk over, step up onto the dais and look inside. Only for the chest itself to be empty, save for a small line of glowing text. Something in you tells you to reach down, to touch it. And so you do, reaching in and touching it with your left hand. The sign disappears, vanishing as if it never were.
“Huh. Well, okay then.” you say, turning to leave. Only to see the familiar white fog-like smoke covering the single exit. And then you hear it:

You hear that familiar sound and turn back, and there, behind the chest on the dais, a strange figure emerges. It looks like the M'lurnian you saw in the underwater cave before, but unlike that one, this one's seemingly fully alive and not a walking corpse. It doesn't talk, instead the creature bows at the waist. Then, once it raises up to its full height, the being turns. Walking off the dais to one of the far walls, swinging its phantom fist through the wall. Once, twice, three times before turning back to you. Watching you silently, quietly observing to see what you'll do.
Well? What now?
>Walk up to the same wall and strike it, seems it's trying to tell you of a hidden path its phantom body can't open
>It clearly wants to attack the wall, drop the sword at its feet and let the creature try with a weapon instead of its bare fist
>Try and attack the phantom with the sword, see if this weapon can hurt phantoms
>Before attacking the wall try and telepathically call for backup, something tells you whatever's behind that wall, you might want backup for

Watching the M'lurnian striking the wall, you realize it wants you to do the same. That it's showing you where to hit to reveal another of those illusory walls. And so you walk over, standing by it and swinging your captured blade through the wall. Which you can feel, the blade slashing through stone. Yet the wall bears no mark, no sign of being struck. So you slash again, and again, and on the third blow the illusion dissipates. Revealing steps that go down to another high arched doorway, filled with that same white smoke.
“Very good!” is called , you turning and seeing the creature picking something up. Dropping it again, and the words “Very good!” are called from the stone once more in that deep, bassy voice. Seems that it can't talk, and uses those phrases to communicate instead. The creature doesn't hesitate after that, walking down the steps to stand before the fog gate. Where it begins materializing equipment, donning a heavy-looking suit of black armor and a black tower shield. Clearly ready for a fight, with whatever lies beyond the door.
“So, we're in for a fight, huh?” you reply, walking up to the fog gate as well. You try and expand your ki sense through the gate, but you can't sense anything beyond. Raven and Haathe are still further down, but whatever's on the other side of this magical gateway, you cannot sense it. “Alright, let's do this.”
You reach up, pressing your hand to it and feel the smoke begin to give. Allowing you to slowly push your way inside, crossing through the threshold. And as you step through, suddenly there's no ground beneath your feet. Falling through a large, circular hole. Down and down through the dark you fall, wondering where it is you're falling to until you begin to see a light at the bottom. The light is faint, but in the absolute darkness of the pit, it looks positively radiant. But as you drift lower, slowing your fall, the phantom knight's fall reaches your own. So you drop down with him, landing not in a chasm of darkness that you'd expected. But in what looks like a sandy, underwater cave illuminated from above with glowing moss. The floor of this cavern sand with a foot or so of water atop it, and another pitch-black armored figure just sitting in the water in the center of the room. Surrounded by statues even more ancient than the M'lurnian ruins above. And, as you look around the room, you also see a body. Wearing long-rusted armor and weapons, the knight phantom you'd summoned's body. Seems he'd died here, fighting the being you're about to challenge. But not before he'd left his sign above, so one could call upon him again, should he fail.

But as you and the M'lurnian knight land in the water with twin splashes, the knight begins to rise. And that's when you realize he wasn't sitting against a chair or pillar, but a SWORD. As he stands, reaching up wit his left over his shoulder, taking the slab of metal in his left and resting it on his shoulder, holding a long, thrusting sword in his right. Immedaitely the phantom by your side begins spreading something along his sword's length, the blade glowing a pale azure hue. As he's doing this, the knight starts walking forward, then with two quick steps close into attacking range. Firing two quick slashes with the smaller, which the M'lurnian knight blocks with the shield, only to swing the massive sword overhead in a smashing blow. One that would no doubt flatten him, so you step in, grabbing your Darkwraith sword's handle in both hands and block the strike.
Or so you try, as the heavy blade slams into your own you immediately realize you can't stop it, so instead deflect the blade away, over your right shoulder to slam into the water. Leaving the knight open, which you capitalize on, delivering a left side kick square to his black armored chest. Sending the knight sliding back as the M'lurnian rushes forward, swinging his own greatsword down in an overhead smash. One that the knight deflects with his own smaller blade, then lands that same two-piece combo. Only this time following up the two slashes with a thrust that lands hard, knocking the M'lurnian back. Launching him a couple yards in the air, landing flat on his back as you rush in over him. Taking your blade in both hands and leaping, aiming for a cleaving slash. Only for the knight to raise that massive sword defensively, actually blocking your strike! Withstanding the force of your blow even as a Berserker God, the impact only breaking his structure and sending him sliding back three or so yards. But he's open, and you don't relent. Dashing in, dodging his sudden thrust with his right handed blade and swinging your blade into his left side.
As you swing, your instincts suddenly tell you to channel your ki through the blade, like you would with your Wolf Knight's sword. So you do, and Abyssal black flames blaze up around the edge as your sword lands with a crunch of metal and hiss of Dark fire against his wet armor. The knight groans at the hit, immediately raising his left sword overhead and dropping the smaller blade. Where the massive blade is suddenly engulfed in dark, sinister fire and smoke before thrusting the massive weapon down. Realizing what's about to happen you IMMEDIATELY leap back, and a wave of that sinister fire and black energy is expelled from the blade in a large blast.

The blast also launches large orbs of smoke and fire out in all directions as well, you side stepping to dodge one aimed at you. And once the blast fades, the M'lurnian knight rushes in, only for your foe to channel more power into that sinister blade, sweeping it from his right to left sides. Unleashing a beam of sinister power, one that batters aside the knight's shield and knocks him over, but doesn't reach you. And instead of focusing him, the knight then leaps high into the air, lifting the blade overhead and swinging it down at you instead in a crushing blow. One that you dodge by spinning aside with your Su Ma, narrowly avoiding the blade and its sinister power as you deliver a slash to his back instead. More black flames light up his back upon the point of impact, the being trying to backhand you with his wide blade. But you block this off-balance strike, and find your opening.
“Finish him off, now!” you shout, dropping your own sword and grab both the knight's wrists. Kicking the back of his knees in with your left heel, you drop him down onto his knees. Wrists bound behind his bowed back, defenseless down on his knees, you have this dual sword-wielding knight pinned. And seeing the opening you've made, the M'lurnian knight doesn't hesitate. Dropping his shield, he takes his sword in both hands, plants his feet and swings. Throwing his entire weight and the weight of his sword behind the blade, his strike landing true. Decapitating the dark armored knight in a single blow, his body unleashing an unearthly howl as he dies. Body going limp in your arms, you releasing his collapsing form. One that dissolves into motes of darkness and fiery light before they all vanish, disappearing into nothing. Leaving behind only his two swords, each thrust point-first down into the sand and a small, floating black flame where he'd been standing. And the phantom M'lurnian, who gives you a salute with his sword before he slowly vanishes as well. His final battle finished, his death avenged. His fight is over.

Rest in peace Sir Mirelurk, you got his ass in the end.
Anyways, that's another three masterwork swords to our name. We should really consider getting some sword racks installed in our quarters. That or figure out some kinda hammerspace scabbard, but who could possibly make something like that I wonder?
Either way, the quest for presents continues!

No, there is a limit. Now, whether or not that space is BIGGER on the inside than the outside's a different story entirely.
>>6377984
Yes he did, you helped him finish his quest.
>three
No. The greatsword's as rusted and unusuable as the armor and shield, laying in that water for who knows how long. The skeleton's completely bare, his gear won't be worth anything. The knight you just killed, however...
The quest for presents continues indeed! But before you decide that, there's a dark-stained soul you'll have to decide what to do with first. If you just leave it there, it might take on a life of its own.

Other words are nice too. Tough choice. If we went with “Creative” it could probably result in her getting different powers from her own Divinity. Same with other words. I guess each word represents a different set of powers and abilities that she can reach.

And to those who do not have experience controlling that rage...”

This effect is so good and so strong. I mean on one hand some enemies might become empowered with their own rage but they also become reckless which can cause them to make mistakes.

Very true. Patrons already know how effective this can be against a certain sorcerer who throws hands with shaolin monks.
True. And Meloka hadn't even realized she had a CHOICE yet. How she chooses could affect the story going forward.
Yes, if he could have escaped. Or if there was a reason he'd simply gone mad as an undead down here.

Indeed. You found the ruins older than the M'lurnians. Perhaps you could ask the former Guardian in the holocron about it, when you leave.
I won't say that's impossible, as it's certainly within the realm of what LER's power it now has can do, much less with using its Wish.
