Anyone else here smell like piss? I don't really get it since I don't pee in my pants but they always start to smell strongly of urine after a few days

Wash them more often. Don't expect to wear the same pair of pants 20 times without them catching the scent of your sweat and crotch area.
Also, try adding a bit of white vinegar to your washing machine instead of softener when you wash them and sun dry your clothes if you can.

You are supposed to do the legwork. Don't be lazy the next time.
The thing is, cotton underwear helps you avoid rashes and fungal infections because the fabric 'breathes' and it's better for your skin, genitals and overall your body. The problem is that you can't use cotton items forever and you need to replace them once or twice a year, or even more often if you use them more frequently, because of the aforementioned absorbtion in >>84049188 . Keep several pairs and don't wait for them to disintegrate to buy new ones.

Really? Maybe you are using too much detergent/softener or overloading your washing machine/using a cycle with less water than you should.
Cotton is supposed to be hypoallergenic, but you could have a medical condition to it.

I don't believe any of that. Cotton soaks up moisture quickly and is able to hold a lot of it. Body produces even more moisture to compensate. Cotton keeps absorbing moisture more quickly than it can evaporate.
