There was this one moment while waiting in an airport, when it hit me that my soul is a woman's soul in a man's body. I'd tried to deny it for years before, but I wasn't able to after that fateful day.
Being trans sucks. It hurts to be called the wrong name, to be targeted by politicians when they're tired of attacking immigrants, for nothing to really fit because nothing's made for your body type. It's hard, and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
But even as it hurts, I am made stronger. I have suffered through so much, but it has made me closer and closer to the version of myself I was always meant to be. Like a butterfly emerging from a chrysalis after spending weeks literally being liquefied and reconstructed, through my pain I have become something beautiful.
