It's not even that rare of a disease. There was a kid in my highschool with tourettes, and despite medication he could only join everybody at lunch. For most of the day he had an aid carry an ipad to his classes for him but he was stuck in a classroom by himself with the door shut with his own ipad because his outbursts were too disruptive. I have Tourettes and I don't understand the people who have new tics, like "free palestine". You must really be all up in that shit to have that as your vocal tic. Most of my vocal tics are things from literally 20+ years ago. I can't just get new ones, that's not how it works. But vocal tics aren't even my main thing, it's physical tics.

Tourettes feels like a fake condition. Not really saying it because I actually think it is but like come on. I watched some of an old documentary about the guy and two others with tourettes and it is genuinely fucked. There was a scene where one of them got into an uncontrollable fit and you can see the strain and extreme stress on his body as he tried to control it. He could barely breathe and his muscles all contorted up. Living with it is a genuine nightmare.

They have an anger towards the world developed during their time of suffering and the only thing that makes them feel better is to put other people below them. This is the answer. One of the kids I knew in middle school had tourettes that mostly manifested through a hand tic, that "talking hand" motion. People who didn't know him would think he was mocking them.
When he was stressed it would get worse and he would mumble "fag" repeatedly. It was kinda funny and we all laughed about it but when it got worse you could tell he was struggling.
