This was known before we buried it.
The only real difference is that the mineral content is a little higher than what a pre industrial society would produce. Those people would not toss away carpenter nails or make single use nails for paper. Even rust make pretty good paint, just like led.

Even then its going to be disappointing, since its going to be mostly plastic.

Tried to reclaim some deep fry grease from my wok. I'd used it three times and it was time to dispose or else I'd get too fatter.

So I decide to bio diesel it. I didn't measure anything but guestimated the amounts of sodium hydroxide and denatured ethanol to add to my fry grease.
It worked.

I poured it off but it was a bit cloudy. So I added kosher salt and it cleared up. But I wanted to make sure it was completely converted so I added another batch of NaOH and denatured alcohol. Then I stuck it on my room heater to stew at lukewarm for a few hours. It had cleared up markedly. But then when I took it off the heat it started clouding again. Whatevs I'd had it turn to wax once by adding too much lye so I figured that's what was going on in places, so I started to pour it into another container to get it off the salt. But it starts to solidify - the stream. And quickly it starts gelling. Oh no the wax again. But no. It's not wax it's SNOTS! Totally the consistency of snots.

Shit well I'll stir it up and let the snot congeal then pour off what's left. But the amount of snot grows and grows till most of it is snot. I pick it up and it is strong enough to hold it's own weight. But it is still snot. I don't think it would stick to anything but man... I stick the giant booger in the woodstove and light it. It burns.

I invented artificial boogers. But at least I didn't contribute to the garbage.
