The TP-82 can be used for hunting, to defend against predators, and for creating visible and/or audible distress signals. The detachable buttstock also functions as a machete and is equipped with a canvas sheath.
The upper two side-by-side shotgun barrels use special 12.5×70mm ammunition (40 gauge), and the lower single rifled barrel uses 5.45×39mm ammunition developed for the AK-74 assault rifle. The TP-82 has a large lever on the left side of the receiver that opens the action, and a small grip safety under the trigger guard that resembles a secondary trigger.[citation needed] According to NASA astronauts, the gun is very accurate out to about 20–30 m (22–33 yd).

to play devil' advocate a bit, I don't think NASA is actually paying 20 million for that
they probably can get the navy to help them just for prestige alone
and the navy is going to get paid either way, their whole job is basically to be on standby just in case they are needed

They don't know for sure if the capsule is in good condition so there is a risk that the lift would fail. Also the capsule could hit the ship. It's just an abundance of caution. You could have thought of this yourself.

yt-dlp has just been a very nice omnitool, like it's meant for youtube, but then you can use it on any website with a video, specifying file format, sections.
Too tired to pick up something new. Will just webm from the vod later.
usually easy to find new code on stackoverflow if I wanted something more specific too

>"HUGGERS could be here" he thought, "I've never been on this deck before. There could be HUGGERS anywhere." The fresh air felt good against his orange spacesuit. "I HATE HUGGERS" he thought. Pink Pony Club reverberated the entire front porch, making it pulsate even as the vanilla breakfast drink circulated through his powerful thick veins and washed away his (merited) fear of astronauts after landing. "With a capsule, you can go anywhere," he said to himself, out loud.

How the fuck is Artemis 3 even going to work, there's 0 chance they are on schedule for it.
Why can't they just launch 2 of the same rockets used for Artemis 2, one carrying the lunar module and the other the command / service? Is the rocket unable to carry all 3 up at once due to the weight? I know the program is relying on SpaceX / Blue Origin, but neither of those programs are anywhere near ready to bring shit to the moon. Starship hasn't even made LEO, much less been tested carrying any load to orbit, much less refueling or doing any of the other shit it needs to do to get shit out of orbit.

Never mind that something like an explosive bolt is so much further down the totem pole of potential catastrophic consequence compared to actual fuel fed rockets to the point of silliness. If Russia or China had the kind of coastline access to open Ocean that we did you can be damn well sure they'd opt for water landings in a heartbeat too

Hey so during loss of comms while re-entering last night, there was a shot of mission control and they were watching what looked like satellite or high altitude recon footage of the astronauts flying in. Looked like it was from above, and in thermal as well as visible spectra. Anyone know if that footage has been released anywhere or if it will be? I'm also curious to know more about it if anyone knows anything thanks

>Also, it is non-trivial for SpaceX and Blue Origin to integrate with Orion, which has fairly strict limits for thermal management and other issues. Even ensuring roughly equivalent cabin pressures between two vehicles is a significant task. Completing all of this within the next 12 to 18 months will be a difficult hill to climb.
>Then, for Artemis IV, there are even greater hurdles. For SpaceX, the company must test and then become efficient at refueling Starship in low-Earth orbit for a trip to the Moon, and back. And Blue Origin, which has very limited experience in spaceflight operations, must develop a more capable version of its Blue Moon Mk. 1 lander, which is itself untested.
>There is no question that lunar lander readiness is the longest pole for both Artemis III and Artemis IV.

I remember it clearly
>April 29, 2023, during Elon Musk’s Twitter Spaces (now X Spaces) discussion reviewing Starship’s first integrated flight test (IFT-1 on April 20, 2023)
>Musk directly addressed concerns about delays for NASA’s Artemis III lunar landing
>He stated: “Definitely don’t expect lunar Starship (under the HLS project) to be the longest lead item for the Artemis III mission. We will be the first thing to really be ready.”

>After their historic journey around the Moon, the Artemis II astronauts are coming home. Watch as they arrive in Houston, Texas, home to NASA's Johnson Space Center.
>NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and CSA (Canadian Space Agency) astronaut Jeremy Hansen splashed down in the Pacific Ocean on April 10, 2026, concluding the Artemis II mission. The crew accomplished many milestones on their 10-day mission, surpassing the Apollo 13 record for farthest crewed spaceflight and observing the lunar surface like never before, capturing iconic views.
>Under Artemis, NASA will send astronauts on increasingly difficult missions to explore more of the Moon for scientific discovery, economic benefits, and to build on our foundation for the first crewed missions to Mars.

Problem is how aggressive the timeline is. Even if HLS manages to get around to LEO by end of year. A3 is targeting 2027 with A4 being placed for 2028. That shit needs to be figured out now to get crews trained and ready even if A3 is just mere testing.

Mk1 passed vacuum cert. Will land on Moon this year.
Mk2 at mockup and system development
May we see SpaceX HLS? And no, you may not show an Elon PowerPoint or tweet lie.

its a new block with a new engine!
Elon promised last year that Starship would be on a weekly launch schedule by now. And Raptor 3 is a released design in serial production. Elon has built over 140 so far.
ECOs will be coming after the explosions, but it's in volume production.

1) I agree Axiom is fucked, and SpaceX is subtly positioning themselves to provide the lunar EVA suits when Axiom inevitably folds.
2) Orion-SLS stack as planned is basically complete, and not the long pole like everyone here expected (because we're sticking with block 1 forever. It doesn't need to get to LLO the way NASA is rejiggering.
3) The landers don't exist yet. But while everyone is saying Blue will do it, I don't even think Mk1 will launch this year as they plan. And if Mk1 crashes, they need to try again. SpaceX in some ways has their own Mk1 lander with V3 Starship. I wouldn't be surprised if Blue's HLS and Starship HLS are ready at the same time, in 2030.

>I don't even think Mk1 will launch this year
late this year or early next year, screenshot this. And it will probably be done before spacex, unless they get their shit together.
>SpaceX in some ways has their own Mk1 lander with V3 Starship.
they don't have either of those things. Also V3 is not HLS. Even if it works as advertised.
