He is literally the best ball playing defender in the world right now. When he first joined, he was a bundle of mistakes and even got benched for fucking Eric Dier at one point. But he grew into his game, matured massively, and now he is not only Bayern’s best defender but arguably the best in the world at the moment.

His technical ability is literally UNFUCKINGREAL for a centre back. Every game he is creating chances from deep, breaking lines with his passing, and even dribbling past opposition forwards with ease. You almost never see that level of composure and skill from a CB. Just look at how effortlessly he nutmegged Kim Min Jae.

Defensively, no CL strikers have been able to beat him 1v1 so far.

he's elite at having to defend big spaces, which is what a team like Bayern Munich need. He'll get red cards because of it but it comes with the territory. I would say he's good with the ball but not elite
