always, it has literally been that way. at any rate, gf winners get extra funding for the next year AFTER they had won the gf the previous year. they don't get a bonus throughout the season of the year they win BEFORE they actually win it.

Yeah, this is the sad reality. Even if you are having 3 kids personally you're just adding 3 white faces to your local school which is virtually all brown. The numbers aren't doing it. Need remigration, cost of living reduction across the board and whites to feel comfortable and secure enough to raise families again.

its what's known as a perceived conflict of interest and can cause reputational damage to the organisation or company. it doesn't look good basically. what the risk controls are within afl house we don't know but it's failed the pub test.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>154312614
i reckon he did all his due diligence but the afl signed off on it and basically stated that the reputational damage was minimal to the benefit of appeasing their major betting partner. shit decision. shit advice. heads should roll internally imho
>>
>>
>>
>>154312617
>>154312619
If I were him I'd be pulling up that document and making a personal copy for myself before the afl tries to throw him under the bus and maybe seeking the advice of an industrial lawyer.
>>
>>
>>154312630
hes probably fine from a legal perspective. afl operations team have a bit of work to do as a result. gov probably might even drop a please explain desu dunno if any laws are applicable tho cbf asking ai
>>

>>
>>154312631
the reality is he couldn't besides making more than 1-2 bad calls a game
most people don't know or think about the fact that umps have their own coach and get reviewed and sometimes dropped after games
but the optics of it are still bad
>>
>>154312631
>>154312637
its not even about that
its a bad look for the afl
because the direct link and payment from sportsbet as the same time as an official adjudicator for the afl raises eyebrows and just because you can't see how it would doesn't matter for the majority of people. its just a bad look.
>>
>>
>>154312651
nick foot definitely does qualify for that, bloke makes fucking howlers every game he does and the free kick count is often astronomically one-sided. look at hawthorn v geelong on easter, the bloke was basically barracking for geelong the entire time. i was watching that as a neutral as well, so when he did that shit to my pooties i was furious. and again, he did snus v dosn on the weekend and shockingly the dosn had like at least ten more frees than the suns.
>>
>>
>>154312631
Betting providers don't really have an interest in fixing games, in fact it's actually the opposite. They want matchfixers caught as they undermine their profits. Organized crime are the ones who are mostly behind match fixing.
An umpire can easily help in spot fixing, for example they could give generous frees to one team to try and keep a game close so it stays in the under points line. They could also give certain players light free to help boost their disposal count.
You could give a forward light frees so they can get x amount of goals.
There's no one on the field who has more power to influence the outcome of bets then the umpire.

Did Ned and the afl really thing "gee I can genuinely umpire games and work for a betting agency that's income is derived from outcomes of afl games" ???
Like umpires are supposed to embody good judgement and maintain the appearance of not having bias?
Either Ned is too stupid to continue umpiring and whoever in the afl approved this conflict of interest is too stupid to work in that position or ned and the afl are corrupt and it's a much worse issue.

Remember when their was a scandal of systemic concealment of recreational drug use by clubs of players from ASADA.
Then the next weekend some guy was yelling racial slurs at eddie betts kids and the news cycle moved on and everyone forgot.
The butters things happens people start asking about the integrity of afl and how in bed it is with gambling companies wonder if it's a systemic problem.
The next week we now have the Elijah incident and that's taking precedence in the footy news media headlines.

think about it like this. FTA gets all it's income from advertising. Who are the major advertiser's for sports in particular afl on FTA "sports betting" so they can influence what stories the news runs. Same with foxtel, kayo to a degree as well since they run sports betting ads.

carlton and the afl have managed to spin the story of hollands into a positive one. right as carlton were doing badly in the press. as well. its a win win situation + ellijah hollands got 1 touch so maybe his disposals odds were juicy and the house wanted to win

I'm just saying this story happened the next week there was always going to be some story coming out of the next round. The Elijah thing happened so they hyper focused on that and are trying to move on from the Ned Long thing because they don't want anyone to dig too deep into it. All the footy news media is incentivised through sports betting advertising and afl access to not rock the boat so they drop the Ned Long thing and focus on the "wrap your arms around him story."

The great replacement is verifiable. Even without the ignorable data backing it up there is extensive documentation showing how deeply it was planned and how long that planning goes back but you're apparently a conspiracy theorist for noticing freely available information along with seeing what's right in front of your face.

Vic media don't care about them. Much easier to dunk on dosn and carlton for the billionth time.
That said their start of the year has been pretty soft. Really tough block in the middle of the year so I'll see how they look after that. I think they're good and hopefully top 4 but where they finish depends a bit on other teams choking as well.

eh, i built a system that uses AI to scan order submissions that meant 6 people got laid off and 2 repurposed. we get orders in spreadsheets, pdfs, photos of spreadsheets, and even photos of handwritten notes. the redundees were manually entering these orders into our oms.
also dev is about 2x as productive for the same number of people

No it isn't. The first one is a tongue in cheek comment to get people to consider why things aren't changing, the second one emphasises the same thing by highlighting how change is inevitable but businesses are still refraining from massive change. It's all pretty consistent.
>>
>>154313101
the thing is that anyone whos been following the downsizing has noticed that many of the megacorps have had big issues with their services soon afterwards. amazon being the most blatant example
so one could construe your earlier messages as "ai is an overblown joke"
i wouldnt be rushing into ai adoption if i was a megacorp with a proven businessmodel
>>
>>
>>154313109
>one could construe your earlier messages as "ai is an overblown joke"

>i wouldnt be rushing into ai adoption if i was a megacorp with a proven businessmodel
Status quo is safe. Change is scary and uncertain. For more than just the businesses.

Dinner on the way, lads.
>>
>>154313118
the biggest problem i see at the moment is that ai isn't a mature system at all. even the benchmarking tests they do for proving a new model's effectiveness get fudged by the ai (e.g. one model cached the correct test answers so it could directly retrieve them instead of "working out" the answer)
we've found that ai can only get you 80% of the way. even that order system we built still has to have constant human oversight because it will just hallucinate things
would imagine a lot of other businesses are seeing the same inconsistency in results (which is a better explanation than man's resistance to change imo)

That's a fair point and there are plenty of hilarious stories emerging with business jumping the gun, laying off their staff and then having to deal with enormous issues caused by hallucinations or newly generated problems altogether but I think resistance to change is big. Laying off hundreds or thousands of people isn't something even the greediest of business like to do (rightly) and even before the onset of AI you could have stripped massive amounts of the bloated departments without seeing a single piece of evidence for a verifiable reduction in productivity. I think within a very short time it will unfortunately be impossible for most businesses to ignore how little is actually being produced by their workforce.

1. Most of the music I like is bands few have heard of. Yet I like enough hugely famous bands to seem mainstream (Oh how emo)
2. Nothing makes me laugh more than a topical news related Radio show from 3 years ago.
3. My "Favourite" and "Best I've seen/heard" in many things are often different.
4. I've quit my current job twice but have wound up back there yet again.
5. My seemingly large ego is for the most part purely for jokes
6. Most people who know me in "real life" would have no concept about what I'm like at the football on the weekend. My continued lack of a voice on Mondays baffle all.
7. I can best be described as a merging of George Costanza, Cosmo Kramer and GOB Bluth.
8. I have countless pseudonyms. Among them are Steven Snell and Armitage Shanks.
9. I never fail to spot undercover Ticket Inspectors.
10. The most important thing when I go out somewhere is my MP3 player. Without it the train rides would be unbearable.
11. I really quite like Titanic.
12. I prefer Pepsi over Coke. Futurama to The Simpsons. Batman to Superman. Rain to Sun. I'm just different.
13. I love Shaun Micallef, but can't go past Tony Martin for the title of funniest man in Australia.
14. I love cold weather and rain. I'm a cold, bitter person.
15. I would one day like to be a film director
16. 95% of the time, despite saying I concede defeat, I think I'm right
17. Everyday I will listen to at least one of Johnny B Goode, Gimme Shelter or Takin' Care of Business. Usually on the way to work.

i've got this theory that people will start trying to support "human run" businesses, just like they "support local" currently. i.e. the social element of the ai changes to the world will be significant and means it won't be as simple as everyone just losing their jobs in some near future year

You gotta understand the fred customer base. These were traditionally hipster/arty types that weren't into sport or into niche sports. They were in the park with the hacky sack drinking boxed red wine with their fixies. They latched onto Fred because they saw it as more authentic kinda a working class/port worker niche rather than the big bad corporate iggs. They didn't grow up loving afl in fact they probably rejected it during the teen years because it was too mainstream a sport. So they don't understand the sport and for instance they don't know what the difference is between straight wins/losses and wins/losses vs good or bad teams. Another part of the freo faithful is the mines/oil and gas types these are all nerds that after finishing their engineering courses had to integrate with tradies due to work so the best way to fit in is adopt a football team and buy a ute. So that's what they did and everyone was supporting the Eagles so they decided to support the other team to be a it different give the underdog a go, that's as much thought they put into the process. Yes some of the fred supporter base has some real working class people who live in and around fremantle and work at the ports that grew up playing footy and supporting south/east fred wafl clubs but that doesn't make up the majority of the club.
The thing is now fred has turned into this plastic corporate franchise that isn't even based in fremantle anymore they've lost all that authentic underdog identity they once had.

tom cochrane, jase burgoyne, potentially dougie cochrane and that other f/s pick after this coming draft. rome burgoyne has been excellent in the sanfl so might get a spot in the midfield during mid season draft. port is the 3rd youngest list in the league, and there's definitely some list cloggers like the two shit offseason signings who are barely good enough for sanfl, but port mostly needs a couple more high draft picks and to get experience into the team and they should be in finals again soon.
meanwhile collingwood are facing a cliff and have basically no good youth except nicky d. it's genuinely a waste of time to go to collingwood if butters actually wants a flag.

the at-ghome payment the gubmint are discontinuing/continuing, i dont know which. they pay 20% of whatever a visit you at home nurse costs. so 50 a day
for a nburse to come over, wipe them, feed them, bathe them etc 250 a week, so 50 bucks. or food delivered. they chose the daily jeet.

if you like ubereats so much, why don't you move to India? maybe you'd get confused not knowing who is delivering your food. But you'd lose weight, what with the worms and the raping and the constant shitting and then more raping. so thats a plus.
