I think the idea of the Rockets trading Durant was fine as he provides the needed shooting and they didn’t give up too much but they then lost all their playmaking once FVV went down and they didn”t have a backup option. It’s not the trade itself so much as they didn’t fill the hole in the roster.

It’s far from the Rockets only issue but the playmaking and ball handling is the biggest and amplifies all the other problems. Having no-one who can pass or shoot results in KD possessions where he gets doubled, or effectively tripled, basically every possession and he struggles with that.

I’m trying to work out which is harder - fixing the Rockets or fixing the Sixers. Sixers lineup is full of good players but their cap is fucked with horrible unmovable contacts but the Rockets roster is a confusing mess of role players.

I think you can do more with the Rockets but it’s hard to know what move to make. Sixers are basically forced to run it back as an OK team until George and Embiid come off the books.
