I don't have the space to just leave the files in place to seed while I make another copy to use whatever I downloaded. I let it seed 1.5 and then I delete the torrent file. Unless I'm in a hurry and it's heavily seeded, then I just delete it, or if it's small or rare enough I'll just make a copy and remove the limit.

These days that's only a good idea on shitty ones. I used to do it back in the day. I follow the rules on every tracker now but I don't care if you don't. If you cheat and download from me I get to keep the accumulated ratio with no risk of getting banned. Why wouldn't I approve of that? On the lower tier ones they are charging money for freeleech. I don't care if you "steal" from them instead.

Now as for the reason why it's only good to do on shitty ones. It's really hard to get into the best trackers in the first place. The holy trinity of BTN, PTP, and HDB are all easy to survive on without doing a lot of uploading. BTN is freeleech and PTP/HDB offers bonus points for seeding which can be converted into ratio or personal freeleech. Their systems are super easy to game. It's not worth risking your access to these trackers, or any trackers affiliated with them.
