Thank you. I was on mobile and forgot to include the link.
I actually meant this song that's used a lot with crunched audio. I want to exploit some properties of mp3 compression to try and make an optimally crunched version.
That said, I don't see it existing on the umamusume wiki, so maybe it's just a fanmade song?

Despite not being very familiar with the band's work I tried my best to compile a discography. As there are some differences between CD/vinyl versions of some albums I included both where necessary. Sometimes there are alternative versions where the tracks are split differently. I didn't bother with those.

If you want stereo some redditor made a list:
https://www.reddit.com/r/beatles/comments/5bgasi/audiophiles_of_rbeatl es_whats_the_best_sounding/
Soulseek blocks searching the term "Beatles" but you can get around it by searching track titles, catalog numbers, whatever else. Get creative. I can help you if you're trying to track down specific versions but I'll say that the original pressings are not always the best. In the case of Revolver the first UK press used the wrong take of Tomorrow Never Knows so they withdrew it, making it a bit of a curiosity.

Where do you guys look for music these days? I've been lost since 2007 when oink.cd shut down.
Was looking for a download of "Essenger & Cryoshell - As Above, So Below" https://youtu.be/bnA8PajiKYE when I realized that I'm going to have to just rip it from the video. But is there a better search engine out there? Finding famous artists is usually not that hard if the song isn't too old but minor stuff is a hassle every time.

I ripped it from Qobuz myself using an actual account. If what you want is on streaming services you can use public sites to rip from them like squid.wtf. FMHY has a list of them. If you're looking for stuff that isn't on streaming like actual CD or vinyl rips private trackers are still the best way. redacted.sh and orpheus.network are the current relevant ones. RED has a better catalog but it is hard as fuck to survive on. Getting ratio there is brutal. OPS makes it a little bit easier because you can get bonus points and buy tokens with them to download albums without touching your ratio. Other than that soulseek still works.
Also I got banned for arguing with OiNK back in the day so I laughed when he got arrested.

I always say it's good to treat RED and OPS like a treasure map for soulseek. You can look for the exact same filenames and logs you see on RED/OPS then download them without using your ratio there. It's good to share everything you get from private trackers there too to keep this going.

anyone here who can into vinyl? what's recommended for getting a good quality rip on the cheap? there's tons of euro shit from the mid 2000's that only got shitty vbr mp3 rips that have been getting passed around for 2 decades now, and i'd like to upgrade my favorites.

If that's what you want avoiding private trackers is a mistake. No other sources are more complete. The log checker being built into the gazelle trackers means you can see what you are getting without wasting any time on something that wasn't ripped right. I share everything I get from RED/OPS on soulseek but knowing which rips are the right ones to get, which filenames correspond to which pressing, etc isn't always possible without being on the trackers in the first place. It's like having a treasure map for soulseek.

my gripe with the trackers is that they're usually pretty strict in general, but also have their own idea of what's best for tagging and folder structure. seems like most of them refuse to accept cueripper as well, despite it being easier to work with and faster than eac. if you use a log checker like https://logs.musichoarders.xyz/ it will reject it, but if you change the header from cueripper to eac, it gives it a 99% due to "Could not verify id3 tag setting" which is something cueripper doesn't have and you don't want for flac rips anyway. thus, 100%.
i tag and rip things the way that works best for me and i don't really care if that makes them assblasted, except then they would just can me. also my bandwidth isn't unlimited so i have some concern about maintaining some arbitrary ratio or you get the axe. the idea of grabbing popular stuff that you're not interested in just so you can get some ratio seems like a complete waste of my bandwidth to me.

Maintaining ratio on music trackers is actually more complicated than just grabbing popular stuff. On RED it's upload or die. This usually means finding stuff from streaming services that isn't already uploaded so seedboxes will snatch it for you. It's a brutal process. OPS on the other hand has a bonus point system. The library on OPS is not as complete as RED but there's so much overlap. Most popular content is there and most of it is the same as what is on RED. There are threads on the forums where they will just hand out a bunch of tokens to you for being a new user. By building out a library with stuff you can find on soulseek or where ever else you can start collecting points which can be turned into tokens. RED gives out tokens at different times during the year. I always go on leeching sprees when that happens.
About the tagging and folder structure. I wish they had more strict rules about it to be honest with you. Sometimes it's completely idiotic. While yes EAC might be slower to work if you join you might want to use it for rips just for these trackers if you join anyway. Most of what you own is probably already on the trackers. If you're buying something that isn't already on them creating the authoritative version that can't be trumped is worth waiting awhile for.

that does sound brutal. i actually do have quite a few rare things for niche interests, which may or may not already be there. a few might even be my rips, depending on how niche they go. wouldn't be worth seeding someone else's rip for ratio if i have my own though. i get the point is to encourage gaining new content and circulating it within the club but i feel like these methods aren't the best for achieving that. seems like it's quite stressful and i can only imagine the butthurt if someone "snipes" something you were about to upload. unless you have a lot of money or the know how to rip stuff, if most of your collection is already uploaded then there's little you can do to gain traction.
>Sometimes it's completely idiotic.
if soulseek is any indication, people are morons about organizing their music. i personally use the "artist - album" format for folders and "tracknumber title" for the files themselves (prefixed with discnumber if multi), so if the trackers actually aren't retarded about that then maybe it is worth joining.
>EAC
oh sure, i could, it would just mean re-ripping some stuff. but more what i meant was the mindset behind it. EAC (and i guess XLD for m*c) are the gold standard and they won't even take the time to realize that cueripper does the same thing a little more easily. it's about having these set in stone principles despite those maybe not being the best options in current year.
>>
>>1393453
Part of the issue there is that gazelle development has mostly sputtered out since the death of what.cd. RED is more conservative than OPS too. OPS accepts rips from Whipper in addition to EAC/XLD while RED is unwilling to accept it because of some bugs in Whipper that still have yet to be fixed. I'm a Linux user myself so this has meant going through the process to get EAC working under wine so I can do my rips. We're long overdue for alternatives. You might actually have luck lobbying for cueripper to be accepted by OPS.

Though, the album 'Fight Love Faith' has the anti piracy static noise in it at random intervals. Clearly audible on 'Transmutation' at 01:04, 01:55, there are more and they're clearly visable in analyzing software. In Traktor for instance, they show up as small blue spikes, easily recognizable in the waveform. Anyway, thanks for the effort but this is unplayable.

It seems normal to me when I play it back. Also spectrum analysis, looking at the waveform in audacity, etc. So I'll upload it again.
https://gofile.io/d/CVIEwB
If you use flac -d to decode it you should get a wav with a md5 checksum of 32B44C6067BC23CFB1F9DCC8CBCC2D8B
I have confirmed that the checksum is identical on both Qobuz and Tidal so this is how it was delivered to streaming services.

My guess is, Gofile saw audio files and inserted that in one of the files, for anti-piracy measures. I've come across this on Soulseek from multiple users, sometimes it's all tracks, sometimes a few, or in this case just one.
You can clearly see the horizontal blue lines in the track that highlight the bursts of static.
Thanks for your effort, I'll try your re-upload, cheers!
