I always feel like the Deldar lore is a victim of limited PR. Commorragh is described as this shitty hell-pit, but I'd imagine that after the the Eldar Empire implosion, most of the survivors of that would be trying to eek out a decent living in their one city-empire and try to make it a better place to live, even if only for themselves. We only get to see the junkies and wastrels of that culture, because all the normal Eldar just stay at home and don't need to scavenge for slaves and drugs in places outside of the Eldar ecology.

I think 40K is more... repressed about it. Its quite apparent one or some of the developers early on was repressed as hell and used the setting as an outlet. Couldn't name who, but the theme has carried on.

There just aren't any prominent female characters in the setting like there is with fantasy. It also doesn't help that Primarchs/Space Marines/Custodes (who get all the attention) are artificial transhumans instead of having actual parents involved in raising them. Even fantasy nobility are more "human."
