Rise! Rise! Awake from thy- ah fuck it one more shot at it to see if a dead horse can be frankensteined alive. Not sure if all the links are still valid, I recall one of them wasn't, will change it next time around.

We talk about monster girls and build a setting for them. We can all post pics and images and art of Monster Girl Encyclopedia monster girls and talk about them, but bear in mind this is not KCs MGE canon to the letter. Seriously lads, a lot of people have their ideas and they aren't all the same, we can all agree to disagree. (Just remember to have fun!)

Waaay back in the days of Yor I remember a 'MonsterHunteranon' who had a neat idea of having a sort of Predatory race of Humans that inherently intimidated Monsters, it acted as sort of a revolving system of Monsters going after the regular Hoomans, while these 'Predator Humans' acted inherently as a 'check' to the Monsters and gave them something to run from.

I found this idea particularly neat but didn't want to step on any toes, but I think it would be a great addition to the concept of my Prometheans. The otherwise fanatically and psychotically rape-driven Monsters being overtly terrified of the sheer presence and existence of Prometheans, the 'Anathemic Man'. Of course easily this can be represented on MGE-verse's 'Spirit Energy' sort of Mana system but that seemed a bit too short changed and lame to me... Something more biological, instinctually visceral and emotionally gripping felt more appropriate.

Particularly I thought of there being varying levels or aspects of this 'Promy Shock' that Mamono suffer from in general. The biological presence and existence vs actions taken on them by a Promethean.

To use DiplomacyAnon's Behavioral Model of Display(1,2,3), Stalk(1,2,3), Hunt(1,2,3), Prometheans(and regular Humans too maybe) will also have a similar and comparable 9-set offensive and automatic system that they either can reinforce or try to suppress given their intentions. Requiring different names seems overly cosmetic at the moment, so the Human version of 'Display. Stalk, Hunt' will also be called 'Display, Stalk, Hunt' unless there is a necessary reason to narratively change it I guess(Interrupt(1,2,3), Intimidate(1,2,3), Interrogate(1,2,3) come to mind?). Promy Display, Stalk, Hunt will of course reflect back the same sort of psychological control vectors as the Mamono's 'DSH' does to humans, but instead of orienting around rape, sexual attraction, sexual fetishization, etc. It will revolve around themes of intimidation, coercion, etc. (cont.)

(cont'd)
This means the same sort of psychological impact that Display, Stalk, Hunt has to Humans is reflected back to Mamono at the same degree. This would naturally, automatically, and for-free bypass any fetish or behavior that may be granted to a Mamono... there is no escape from the Painbow.(This may not entirely need to be enforced as the case given that no Mamono has really stated to enjoy pain, not even Turtle-chan...)

Now can an Mamono resist the urge to retreat or resist the urge to comply or cower from a Promethean's Presence(Display), a Promethean's Implication(Stalk), or a Promethean's Action(Hunt)? Absolutely, otherwise Ogre's would be breaking down into tears and find it damning to witness a Promy washing his hands or something instead of ripping her arms off. So there would still NEED to be intent, formulaic reasoning, and logical deduction involved with the psychological terror.

I am tempted to see about whether the typically regarded submissive Mamono would actually receive a BUFF to being scared by a Promy, Receiving compulsions, fear, etc. adding to their fetishized psyche. This while the regarded dominant, aggro fighty Mamono ala Ogre-chan get hit with the passive nerf statuses of varying degrees depending on what a Promy does to her in increasing levels of intensity... I'd need to play it out to see if it sticks well.

I have some preference for monster-girls in a more normal fantasy setting stemming from partial transitions between beasts and men, like prospective animal-wives focusing on piecemeal completion of what's easily kept under a robe unconcerned with their inhuman origin being clear in bed, the claiming of only parts of a pelt leaving those who shed it to take on a human form absent the corresponding parts of their original form, or packs-turning-tribes stopping once their neighbors stop entirely exterminating them as wolves preying on their sheep and start taking war-brides as fellow men robbing them.

In the case of social animals undergoing such changes as a distinct population from nearby humans, you get independent reinvention of more complex social orders, which produces a case of anachronisms stemming from civilizations literally being younger and thereby failing to chew through earlier orders of optimization to reach later ones.

There's also a much wonkier idea focused on the funky entomological detail that some insects with starkly different larval and adult anatomy actually have the adult parts grow from distinct cell-clusters in the larva, notably including wings, to have a class of chimeric bug-girl through not-that-magical-but-huge bugs implanting parts of their young into human(oid) youths that then grow into bug-parts on the human(oid).

Support bump, interested in posting my own setting but didn't really have a place to share it back when I was working on one, but those ideas need some refinement it's been years.

I know nothing about the monster girl settings. So forgive my ignorance, but why do you need some sort of super monster man to prey on monsters? Are humans incapable of resisting them otherwise? Are there not heroes and knights, kings and armies? Does man just cower and pray the monsters don't find him? How have they not been wiped out? It just seems odd to me, unnecessary even, for there to be some sort of super man that exists to reverse the power dynamic. If you want men to be able to overcome monsters that's what mighty heroes are for. If you want monsters to be beyond the abilities of men to deal with why make an exception? I mean no offense but I don't get what you're going for here.

To explain, monster girl media is usually very femdom oriented. But there is some logic to it.

In most monster girl settings, monster girls are usually significantly stronger than humans. Even predating that, think about every time you have fought a monster girl in a video game. It usually takes four plus people to down a single Lamia. Basically, most monster girls are boss-tier.

>If you want men to be able to overcome monsters that's what mighty heroes are for.
And you are correct. The exception to the rule is usually heroes blessed with divine power, exceptional skill, plot armor, or all of the above.

...No, that's a tabletop trope for combat resolution reasons and firmly a "sliding scale", vidya parties in fantasy and relative enemy scaling tend to be a crapshoot.

>Are humans incapable of resisting them otherwise

To put it bluntly, yeah. This is honestly a reoccurring elephant in the room that most fans of MGE just come to either ignore and subvert the broken lore(hence like me changing it up to add things to the human side to beef them up) or just conclude humans are literally going to be curbstomped in a small matter of time and the Demon Lord and her Husband just wins and happily ever after. I could go on and on about it but the TL;DR is that, quite frankly, yes they're incapable of resisting them otherwise.

>How have they no been wiped out?

Author Fiat. There really is no rhyme or reason as to why the Order shouldn't have already collapsed other than them being a punching bag for everyone to crap on.

>It just seems odd to me, unnecessary even, for there to be some sort of super man that exists to reverse the power dynamic. If you want men to be able to overcome monsters that's what mighty heroes are for.

To the nitty-gritty of it, the problem with Heroes is that heroes are implied to require training their entire childhood and early adulthood to even begin to match Monsters, all while Monsters get their combat abilities for free. You can see how this inherently will cause an issue where Mamono can just train on top of their superior abilities and just curbstomp any of the heroes, were back to square one.

It simply makes more sense, not to mention I find it cool, to have the idea that Humanity is steadily embarking on a 'Genetic Ascendence' to match the Monsters. To be able to *at birth* begin their lives capable and strong enough in their youth to be a threat. It honestly isn't even an appeal to dominating Monsters as it is an appeal to leveling the playing field. And I've found its a very, very good way of Humans and Mamono developing emotional bonds.

(cont'd.)

Just to clarify, the Prometheans aren't meant to curbstomp the Monsters back, its meant to be a worthwhile and equal opponent, rival, ally, or etc. that is equally as competent as their Monster counterparts while still maintaining some unique flair.
'
Two Monsters could probably take on one Promethean and win, a single Monster could possibly tke on a Promethean and whin especially when she uses the element of surprise, weapons, magic, any form of force multiplier that may aid in a Promy's capture. But this also means Promy's will probably carry force multipliers too.

Generally while yes they do provide this sort of quasi-'Hunter' humanity against Monsters, they're not be any means unbeatable. That would sort of in a way defeat the purpose once again. for a reiveting, dynamic, and equalized gameplay where its anyone's guess who will take home the gold.

I can definitely see Monster Girls embracing guerilla tactics, dungeons with traps to exploit a Promy's size, hit and run tactics, and stuff that can exploit a Promy's larger muscles(electricity and poison comes to mind, the bigger muscles you have the hard the sex poison/sex electricity hits you).

What are the key things to remember when creating a monster girl species for your world?
>>
>>97589344
I hate MGE style humans vs monster girls setup where the monster girls are all on the same side more or less.
The fun part with monster girls is the variety. The best way to display the variety is to set them against each other. I'd like to see kingdoms of monster girls of different types who fight against each other. Maybe there doesn't even have to be independent human states, it's all monster girl states (each has a subjugated human population for breeding more of their kind - a valuable resource), and they're all warring.

Not related to the above, has anyone made maps for MGE, or MGE derived settings?
>>
>>97607516
Oh gay, from the thumbnail I thought it was some cool weird combiner /m/echa but it's just pedoshit
>>
In my previous MGE x Warhammer Fantasy setting, I had it that the Dwarfs were pretty heavily working with the Orcs and Goblins after they were monsterized. I'm thinking that maybe I should not have had that angle anymore.
>>97612762
First of all of a monstergirl race is that they can't produce males of their own and are reliant on the males of other races to reproduce. This means that they need proximity to those males to maintain themselves. How they breed with males boils down to two ways, they might enter societies and court and be courted in the standard way, or they might need to rape to reproduce. In the case of the latter, there has to be some kind of justification for why the former isn't done. Long-lived monstergirls can afford to breed occasionally and so might have more distance, short-lived ones not so much.
>>97614069
I did make a map. It's basically the Warhammer Fantasy map (which is nearly identical to our own) with the northern chaos wastes crossed out and general territories set.
>>
>>97614112
>'Demon lord realms' is so cute and tiny, you can barely see it
Not much of a demon lord then is she
>>
>>97614133
It's basically the equivalent of the Southern Realms from Warhammer Fantasy.
>>
>>97614102
The Pixiv source actually lacks any R-18 posts, and the specific one it's from saves the overt "interest" for the ones with developed "assets". So I'm pretty sure it's intended to be "Assigned Dad By Quest" rather than lolicon.
>>
>>97614112
I always liked the idea of Monsters largely taking on a kind of parasitic role. Sure, some are raiding parties and such, but a fair few are like the enemy within. Tempting those on the edges of society, luring away the vulnerable and such. Seems like a sensible lifecycle for them.
>>
>>97589344
Hey, why don’t we see more monster BOY stuff, surely there are people interested in that? Not me personally, but now I can’t stop thinking about why that is, lol.
>>
>>97623909
I know for a fact that that it exists, but there's not so many people who'd be into that on /tg/
the typical monstergirl theme of "oh noo, this hot strong person is going to bypass all the awkward social ritual bullshit and force me to have a big loving family with them, whatever shall I dooo~" is a staple of womens' erotica in general, though from what I've seen of monsterfuckers there appears a tendency for women to gravitate to more "monstrous" monsters if that makes sense, like getting railed by actual literal minotaurs
>>
>>97625305
though I should probably add that I don't really seek this stuff out and don't have a particularly large sample size to draw from here either, so it's quite possible that I might be misrepresenting the matter
>>
>>97614069
This is the biggest reason post-retcon MGE is dogshit. What is there to even do aside have sex? You can't really go on adventures either. If there was some more nuance to the politics it could be interesting. It's just a hugbox for KC's corruption fetish.
>>
>>97628893
In all fairness, pre-retcon MGE wasn't exactly hot stuff either in terms of a competent narrative. Its always been a corruption fetish narrative with zero nuance and hugboxed solely from it being subverted. Post-retcon only dug him further into the pit.

Any fanfic writers who genuinely take a crack at emulating MGE almost unilaterally change a great deal of at the core level or just can it entirely and use the Monster Girl profiles as vague guidelines. Which honestly is fine I guess, if it weren't for the weird stance KC takes using his work..
>>
>>97633117
I agree. Honestly I've found more inspiration from other monster girl media, though most of them have their own issues. Was MGE the first mainstream monster girl setting or was it another?
>>
>>97635065
Probably Monster Musume was what kind of gave the overall niche genre the limelight, and then MGE sorta came after that. Whether or not KC was just jumping on the hype at the time or not I'm not sure, regardless it gained a sorta cult following in its inception and with KC getting spurned with critiques from people I dont know what the future of it would be in terms of english translations.
In all fairness in KC's defense, MGE didn't develop a following out of nowhere, its kind of interesting if being the main sort of setting combining Fantasy with Monster Girls most people can think of, but it immediately defeats itself by allowing for no inspection of anything that isn't what KC wants.
Overall, it has interesting ideas and plot bunnies in a "if you're into that sorta thing" type of way, but by no means is it air-tight and should be harvested for ideas rather than your own setting's Bible.
