Long time ago someone was posting this huge Castle thing they were making for Warhammer Fantasy on an Empire focused forum, I had saved a bunch of pictures from back when he was posting it.

Look nce and finished. What is left to do?

Thanks. Mostly just adding some more weeds and foliage to the base if the well to blend it a bit better in some places, and adding a bucket and rope. I night add some small deer ferns too, at the base, and some moss to the inside.

Actually they're made by "I Built It" and resold by AK. Buying directly from I built it is cheaper

Any favorite books on miniature terrain?

Huh! Very interesting, everything's cheaper *except* the tavern which is more expensive, for some reason.

Anon, not even two dozen posts itt. Try reading them

Anon, while it's not a big ass thread, it wasn't immediately said by OP. It was 14-17 posts in. I do appreciate the heads up, at least. My apologies for not reading every single post in a thread.

In that case your gentlemen's club card and proof of scholarly merit have just been revoked for blatant faggotry.

WIP. Please do give ideas to spice it up. Its intended for some eastern front WW2 action so im thinking im gonna print off some soviet propaganda posters and paste them to the walls.

Try to hide the corrugated cardboard with something. Can't do much about the ugly printing layers
>>
>>97623402
>>97623411
Looks sick, id love to have these on the table. I don't mind the visible cardboard, it fits right in with the rubble look
>>
>>97623411
Did you 3D print some cardboard? or is it some 3D printed stuff on top of some cardboard?
>>
>>97623711
>>97623707
So it is 3D printed, purchased from here:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/1472532510/abandoned-factory-ashfall-city-building2
And then because it comes in pieces I mounted each individual floor onto sheets of cardboard so that it can be taken apart in slices for access to models on different floors without risking the building falling apart and damaging models. I originally meant to seal up the cardboard to hide it better but I wound up liking the look as it gave the impression of exposed insulation / structure so I decided to leave it.

Does anyone have any papercraft terrain to share? I'm joining a Trench Crusade group and they have zero finished terrain so if I get them some PDFs we could get a lot of work done.
>>
>>97623783
I don't know, with the pillars being cut in half it looks off to me. Maybe you could add a few spots of dirtiness
Also fucking hell that looks grossly overpriced
>>
>>97629695
I tried to chop off the nubs on the support beams but I was worried I was gonna crack the resin from the level of force it was taking. I'd print my own terrain but due to current living arrangement running my own printer is just out of the question.
>>
>>97623402
Washes, it will make the layer lines more noticeable but in some terrain it looks sick. very small crumpled bits of paper/cardboard and such in corners and along walls as debris
>>
>>97623411
>>97623402
downward streaking grime and depending on your setting some vibrant green

150€ for one medium sized building is not cheap.

NTA, but I'll just chime in with Brutal Cities for the 3 anons who haven't heard for them. Their products may not be the best purchase, but they're prime ground for stealing modeling inspiration for low-detail terrain:

After making some sci-fi terrain I've started a new project. I fancied something more natural and have decided to make a bunch of stuff set in a cave. The end goal is to play some games of Cauldron with my brother. Aim is to recreate stuff like stalagmites, stalactites, stagnant pools etc. Here's a few of the bits I've started.
>>
visited the city museum yesterday and found some terrain inspiration. Really doesn't have to be more fancy materials than this
>>
this is sponge or something similar I would assume
>>
this could make for a really cool naval siege battle board if recreated in 28mm
>>
>>97641400
>Really doesn't have to be more fancy materials than this
Not at this scale it doesn't, anyway. But this looks like a sub-1mm scale. I mean don't get me wrong, my thoughts go directly to wargaming too and the actual shaping of the heightmap is usually great on models of this type, which has lots of potential, but I think it's too small for anything more than 19th-century-style wooden blocks representing troop formations.

>>97641411
Yeah, pieces of sponge torn to the approximately right shapes and then dyed, it seems. I feel like the attachment to the base would be pretty fragile so you'd have trees coming off all the time, but on the other hand it's extremely squash-resistant.

>>97641419
Yeah, if this was enlarged to a classic 4x4 table (and maybe the house was centered better) it could make for a good game. Would it reach 28mm though? 15mm maybe. Still a good scale for play.
>>
>>97641400
would play Firelock 198X on
>>
>>97639127
This is pretty cool anon, I cant believe I never thought of it before. Mind if I steal the idea?
>>
>>97645218
go ahead, let me know if you have any questions
>>
>>97642639
>But this looks like a sub-1mm scale
I'd say it's entirely playable in 3mm, but the layout is challenging for army battles

>15mm maybe
that would make more sense if you want to include ships

same city, but in the 18th century (IIRC). Probably slightly smaller scale than the medieval version, maybe 1/1000?
>>
>>97645333
What city?
In Lille France we have hundreds of square meter of these tables in the basement of the Lille museum, showing many European cities throughout history
>>
anyone here have experience with hirst arts molds? twenty years ago I thought they were the coolest things ever, but I had no way to buy anything online. I've been tempted a few times to buy them now, but I don't know if I actually really want them organically or if it's only because I wanted them 20 years ago.
>>
>>97645371
>What city?
Norrköping
>In Lille France we have hundreds of square meter of these tables in the basement of the Lille museum, showing many European cities throughout history
that's really cool, I need to visit somewhere. I know they used to build models of fortresses in wood in the 17th and 18th centuries (at least) before building the real ones to have a 3D blueprint. They did the same for ships
