This went well for like a couple months, but then - of course - she stepped on too many toes in game and her character was destroyed. This happened a lot. Vampire is not a petting zoo after all.

Her new character was a Ventrue Neonate. Another shining beacon in any well behaved etiquette heavy Elysium. At first no one truly noticed. A stereo-typical Ventrue is not too different from a Toreador after all and one could attribute it to playstyle.

She showed up at every event within reach and had her fingers again in every honey pot and because there were so many different events no one noticed the very obvious meta-gaming going on. (of which we knew nothing, just yet).

Three things happened in quick succession next.
Her Ventrue eventually bit it. Was to be expected.
She started dating one of my best friends, let's call him Karl.
And lastly: She made a new character who was a member of clan Tremere.

If you do not know much about Vampire the Masquerade: Clan Tremere has a very (VERY) strict top down hierarchy. Members report to their chantry leaders and the chantry leaders are connected to each other and those report to their elders and so forth.

My best Friend Karl happened to play the chantry leader of our domain. But for the few months he was smitten, as fresh lovers often are. I was not surprised that he grew more and more distant, spending more time with his new love and such. This is normal I think. Of course now I met them both on every event I attended.

So far so good.

The following month Karl asked me if he could borrow some money. "Sure buddy 50€ do not hurt me at all." No questions asked. The month after he asked me again, without having paid back the first time. I was getting sus. I asked Karl if everything was alright. And he stated that there are just some unexpected bills biting him right now. "Okay cool. No worries. I help you out bud."
