The speculative bubble of Pokemon cards has burst in Japan. Will it soon be all over for Western Pokemon scalpers too?

Despite having an extremely low opinion of people who collect trading cards, at least them being collectible is quite literally one of the core aspects of the product. Sure, in the case of the ones people care about nowadays, they're generally game pieces first, but them being collectible is an important aspect of how they function.
Collectible shoes on the other hand are just all sorts of retarded. It is a shoe. Its primary purpose is to be worn on your feet and protect them from both the ground and the elements, with some having a secondary purpose of looking good/being status symbols when worn. Collectible shoes are literally just mass produced products made by major companies that exist in a state completely counter to their intended use. I'm honestly not sure if a collectible shoe that exists to never be worn and sit on a shelf whilst still TECHNICALLY being a shoe and POTENTIALLY having actual utility is better or worse than something like a funko pop, which has literally no purpose whatsoever outside of being product.
